As Lu Jia’er saw this play out, her eyes glead with astonishnt. She had never expected that Professor Li, who often smiled at work, had a child known as a little angel with a broken wing.
Jason and Li Zheng both tried to amuse Qiqi with the toys, but Qiqi was still indifferent and he was not interested at all in the toys they gave. Finally, Professor Li’s wife had to take the toys for the child.
There were more and more people in the departure lounge and the mbers of the team greeted one another. Fifteen minutes before boarding, they saw the figure of Jin Xiangdong.
Once they had all boarded the plane, Lu Jia’er found that her seat was in the first class cabin, and she was seated close to Jin Xiangdong. Lu Jia’er was quite satisfied with this arrangent, and did not care at all that Su Han felt ditched.
“Did you specially arrange this?” Lu Jia’er lowered her voice and asked Jin Xiangdong who was seated beside her.
“I am your family. It’s normal to have a seat adjacent to yours!” Jin Xiangdong looked sideways at her and replied.
“I am not used to your high profile expression of love!” Lu Jia’er grinned and said.
“But ‘I like it’ is written all over your face at the mont!” replied Jin Xiangdong.
Although he had seen through her feelings, Lu Jia’er didn’t mind at all. But, that didn’t an she was just going to let him have his way. “No. It’s ‘I take things as they co’!”
On hearing her words, Jin Xiangdong slightly curled his lips and reached out to hold her soft hand while Lu Jia’er leaned her head against his shoulder.
As the plane took off, Lu Jia’er and Jin Xiangdong had clung to one another for a brief mont before she opened her laptop to write academic papers while Jin Xiangdong beca busy reading docunts with his iPad.
An hour later, Lu Jia’er stopped staring at the laptop screen and stretched her stiff body.
“Have you finished?” asked Jin Xiangdong, who was still seated next to her.
“Almost. But it may have to be edited several tis!” Lu Jia’er replied while relaxing the tension in her neck.
Jin Xiangdong smiled. How Lu Jia’er had concentrated on writing the paper... eyes fixed on the laptop, it was very charming in his eyes. Her slender fingers danced over the keyboard, while she had frowned, smiled, bit her lips, and lost herself in thought, as she beca imrsed in her own world; free from interference or thought of anyone else.
“Would you like sothing to drink?” asked Jin Xiangdong.
“Champagne!” Lu Jia’er replied.
Jin Xiangdong pressed the service button. After a while, a flight attendant gave Lu Jia’er a glass of champagne.
After taking a sip, Lu Jia’er put down the glass and stared at the screen of the laptop. After a while, she looked sideways at Jin Xiangdong and asked, “Ace, do you know what condition Professor Li’s child has?”
In fact, Lu Jia’er was about 80 percent sure already, but she couldn’t confirm which type of the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Qiqi belonged.
“Asperger’s!” replied Jin Xiangdong.
Lu Jia’er blinked, and then said slowly, “Professor Li is always smiling so I thought he would have had a happy and perfect family.”
Hearing her remarks, Jin Xiangdong sighed, “Every family has a skeleton or two in the closet! So choose to be optimistic while so choose to give up!”
Lu Jia’er nodded silently and Jin Xiangdong continued to say, “Qiqi is particularly sensitive to numbers, so in the future he is very likely to be a genius in mathematics!”
Lu Jia’er nodded again, “Yes. Many children with Asperger’s have higher intelligence than normal children!”
