"There's no good in comparing with a loser like you, get out of my way," Chloe spat out venomously.
Her temperant had beco quite fiery of late. Any fool who dared to provoke her ended up getting a face full of Chloe's fury, even dogs were no exception.
The man dressed in a black robe was familiar with such treatnt — every ti he approached, Chloe would keep him at bay with her sharp words. The camp dogs had also felt her wrath, getting slapped whenever they dared to bark at her.
Over ti, the guard dogs in the Viper Group Military Camp learned their lesson. The mont they saw Chloe, they would make a run for it, intending to stay out of this fierce woman's line of sight.
Chloe was particularly irritable that day, as she felt tired after spending too much ti with the energetic Wang. She was in a foul mood.
Impatiently, Chloe drew her knife: "One more word out of you and I'll slice you up."
The cowed Beast Tar stepped back a few paces.
In front of him was a young woman, full of fierce energy. The knife in her hands glinted with a nacing chill, its blade clearly having tasted human blood.
The Beast Tar swallowed, stuttering out in defiance: "You swoop in and take over without a single word, yet I can't even defend my livelihood?!"
"Moreover, we were only ant to have a fair competition, are you afraid now?"
Chloe retorted impassively, "Provocation won't work on ."
Before the echoes of her words began to fade, Daniel picked up the mantle: "What about you though? No talent and still picking on a petite little girl at your age. Have you no sha or pride left?"
At this, the Beast Tar grew angrier and retorted, "Who the hell do you think is old? I'm only twenty-two this year!"
At this, Chloe, Daniel and the others gaped in surprise. Their gaze shifted to the Beast Tar, probing in their astonishnt.
Chloe was taken aback: "You certainly look much older."
Feeling utterly humiliated, the Beast Tar cut to the chase: "Enough of this, are you willing to compete with or not?"
Chloe scoffed: "Compete with you on what? You wouldn't even suffice as a warm-up for ."
As she spoke, she punctuated the ground twice with the tip of her knife, causing a loud, grating noise.
The Beast Tar trembled noticeably, obviously terrified, then stamred out. "Wh-who said anything about competing in physical combat?"
"We are Beast Tars. Can't we compete in taming beasts?"
Chloe snorted at the absurdity, pointing towards the obedient Wang by her side, she retorted: "Are you really wanting to compete in beast taming?"
Taken aback, the Beast Tar stuttered: "It's just a tiger. Given more ti, I'll be able to ta it too."
"Moreover, I've been observing you all this ti. You have no skills in beast taming. I don't know what thod you've used to make the tiger obedient to you!"
"Do you not find it laughable to speak like that?" Qin Huaibei mocked, "Whether or not she knows how to ta beasts is none of your concern. She tad the tiger with skill, didn't she? That is proof of her strength, isn't it?"
Daniel chid in, "Just to be straight with you, in other words, you're clearly hopeless. best you pack up and scram."
The Beast Tar's face went red with anger, "How would we know without trying?"
With that, he took a glance around and walked towards a cage housing a brown bear.
The bear seed to have been trained fairly well. It didn't cause a commotion when he unlocked the cage. Instead, it slowly ambled out of its cage, its eyes looking straight at them.
The Beast Tar reached out his hand towards the brown bear. After a couple of seconds, the bear obediently stretched its paw and touched his hand.
The Beast Tar proudly said, "See, how well-behaved it is."
"When this brown bear first arrived, it was as ferocious as your tiger, and now isn’t it obediently abiding ?"
Chloe, who witnessed the entire process, seed unimpressed. "Only you would have the guts to show off a beast that has completely lost its wild nature.”
"What your boss needs is a beast that can charge into the battlefield, not so dosticated anima."
Beast Tar: "…”
Frustrated, he snapped, "At least, it obeys !"
The Beast Tar, confident in his tone, added, "This took several weeks to train, it's dear to . If you can take this away from , I'll admit you're incredible"
Chloe insignificantly stared at him, which sowhat intimidated the Beast Tar.
Noticing his movent, Chloe smirked, "You're serious about stepping back?"
The Beast Tar: "…”
He seed like he wanted to say more, but Chloe lacked the patience to listen to him, she put forward her hand towards the bear, called softly:
"Co here, kid."
Her movents seem casual, almost dismissive.
Upon seeing this, the Beast Tar's expression turned contemptuous. He mocked:
"You think you can coax my bear with that? I'll admit you're pretty but to a beast, you're no different from an ugly outcast, if you…”
His words cut off in the middle when he saw sothing incomprehensible.
He was stunned because, after hearing Chloe's call, the bear hesitated for a mont and to his surprise, started walking towards Chloe.
The Beast Tar went pale, "What are you doing?”
When he called out, the bear slowly turned to look at him, there was a hint of struggle in its eyes, but ultimately, it moved towards Chloe with determination.
The Beast Tar looked visibly upset.
"Co back! Co back to !”
"Have you forgotten our ti together?”
"I have your favourite toy and your favourite snacks here!"
As he said that, he took out a plain grass ball and few honey jars and threw them towards the bear.
But, the bear just glanced at those objects and without showing any interest, continued to walk towards Chloe.
The Beast Tar got so angry that his eyes turned red.
Finally, the bear reached Chloe and stared into her eyes.
After a long ti, it managed to extend its paw, gently brushing against Chloe's sleeve to seek her attention.
Upon realizing the brown bear's intention, Wang was imdiately upset and let out a growl of anger towards the bear.
The brown bear lazily gave him a glance, apparently unbothered by his feelings, instead turning around to pick up a jar of honey with its mouth and delicately hand it over to Chloe.
This action was sowhat unexpected, even Chloe was taken aback for two seconds, she confird, "For ?"
The brown bear slowly nods, its manner resembling that of an elegant gentleman.
At this ti, the Beast Tars on the opposite side were on the verge of tears:
"Co back! Co back!"
The brown bear acted as if it didn't hear anything.
Feeling his affection threatened, Wang started to throw a tantrum on the ground.
Chloe took a glance at Wang who suddenly seed frantic, then looked at the elegantly poised brown bear and furrows her brows, saying:
"Alright, enough with your antics."
The brown bear instantly revealed a satisfied expression.
Not far away, Daniel and the others were stunned.
He turned his head and comnted:
"So this is the legendary— the one who is not loved is truly the other woman?"
"Chloe is so ruthless and heartless."
