"Mhmm," Xu Zeng answered half heartedly, more preoccupied with things of obvious importance— in his opinion. Under his breath, he mumbled, "Safety and comfort, but passion?"

Even if Xu Zeng was talking about a dancing monkey at that mont, Bai Mo would have likely still had a hard ti keeping his breathing even and remaining composed.

The demon beast was relentless! Relentless and he never seed to have the self control one should have...

This was clearly a demon beast trait. Maybe all the immortal beasts from long ago were like this, doing as they pleased whenever they pleased... but then again, Xuan Jian wasn’t like this...

Bai Mo was beyond confusion at this point. It would have been fitting if a sign with "I AM CONFUSION" was stuck across his forehead.

Did he just have a way with the crazies? Or did the crazies have a way with him? Either tango was still a dance, and he seed to like them as much as they liked him.

Even after Bai Mo had created so distance between them, he found himself with no breathing room.

The ger with the fiery red fox ears on his head had swiftly moved back to his side of the spacious carriage.

Although it was a rental, less luxurious than his own carriages from Bai Mansion, it still offered under-seat storage for their belongings and ample legroom for travel, especially considering his shorter leg span compared to the other two adults on the trip.

However, now there was no legroom or even space to take a deep breath. A certain fox demon beast had made sure of that.

Xu Zeng, masked and seemingly oblivious to personal space, had moved across the carriage with a single minded determination. Now, they were seated beside each other on the sa bench, uncomfortably close.

He and Bai Mo were almost sitting on top of each other. A little nudge here or there and it would be so.

It wasn’t the respectful distance observed between Bai Mo and Xu Hu Zhe when they sat together on this sa bench earlier; Xu Zeng’s proximity was almost suffocating.

Bai Mo instinctively scooted away, pressing himself into the corner, but his gaze remained fixed on the other Ger.

Xu Zeng simply continued to corner the smaller ger, moving ever closer, causing the new distance to disappear before their eyes.

With a lack of self-awareness or perhaps intentional disregard for boundaries, Xu Zeng reached out to stroke the twitching red fox ears without hesitation.

It was as if he had no concept of personal space when it ca to Bai Mo—and Xu Hu Zhe— ignoring everyone else around them, whether intentionally or unintentionally and giving them a wide berth.

The situation was becoming increasingly tense, and Bai Mo couldn’t help but wonder what look the other had under the mask. He wanted to see it all... but self respect...

The two—Xu Hu Zhe and Xu Zeng— had switched masks at so point, Bai Mo admitted he liked this mask better. The other was newer, but this one felt more... sothing...

Maybe it was for the best for the one driving to wear the less conspicuous mask...but then again that one was newer... Wasn’t that actually a bigger target for bandits?

"Should we stop at a village to get breakfast?" The words were rushed and jittery as the sensations from above caused Bai Mo’s eyes to water. It was still early, but they should start planning for lunch, shouldn’t they?

"N...n...no, for lunch," Bai Mo corrected, trying to keep his mind focused on sothing, anything that wasn’t Xu Zeng or the feelings coming from his sensitive ears.

"We have food." The rogue demon beast pointed at the packed refreshnts in a smaller back basket on the other side of the carriage.

"Y..ye..yeah. O..oo...ookay." Way too close, the alarm bells in Bai Mo’s head were no longer going off. It felt really good. He wanted to curl up in the other’s hands.

It was again silent. Too silent as Bai Mo struggled to keep himself from purring or doing sothing along those lines.

There was the heat, but there was also the absurd amount of comfort he felt at that mont. Stimulating and relaxing all at the sa ti.

"Can I taste?" Xu Zeng asked lightly.

"Huh?"

"I want to taste the... flavor?"

"Hah?" Momo’s eyes were watering, and his brain wasn’t functioning, but still, the silver haired ger was talking in riddles. Ones he couldn’t even start to decipher.

"Sweet?"

...

"Lick?" Xu Zeng was losing words quickly, his brain failing him rapidly.

’Shut up and keep rubbing,’ Bai Mo wanted to shout to the other. He really couldn’t understand what Xu Zeng was trying to relay, and they were both not of sound mind at the mont.

As the carriage jostled particularly hard, it was clear the driver’s attention was elsewhere, perhaps eavesdropping on the conversation between the two gers left alone in the carriage.

One was Xu Fang’s brother, the other his closest friend. There was absolutely no way, Xu Hu Zhe could feel confident leaving them to their own devices.

After all, they had been caught in a rather compromising position just the week before. Despite the distractions that seed to occupy Xu Hu Zhe’s mind, the two gers within the carriage were lost in their own world.

Xu Zeng felt a surge of frustration, but he already knew the answer to his own question. While he didn’t experience the instant attraction he felt with Xu Hu Zhe, there was a different kind of intensity between him and Bai Mo.

He found himself drawn to the pouty red lips that seed irritated by his words. Yet, Xu Zeng hesitated; he wouldn’t kiss without permission.

He had learned that Xu Hu Zhe didn’t appreciate such advances without consent. He knew better now. As their breaths mingled, his mind raced, trying to find a way to convey his desire to the red fox below him.

Then, suddenly, inspiration struck. He knew exactly what to do next!
