It was one thing to remain composed in front of Xu Feng, and another to truly troubleshoot now that he was asleep. They needed as much comfort as they could get.
When they finally pulled apart, Xuan Yang’s lips curved into a small smile, his eyes reflecting the flickering candlelight with a newfound warmth. It was as if every unspoken promise conveyed through the kiss had reached his heart, offering a mont of reassurance from the weight of his concerns.

As they moved from the inner chamber to the outer chamber of the room, their hands remained intertwined as they drew comfort from each other.
Xu Feng hand their scents around him, and they were close enough to be near at a mont’s notice. The ger needed rest, it was evident in his reactions following the announcent from Lady Xuan’s people.
Settling onto the modern couch in the outer chamber, they continued their conversation in hushed tones, their voices mingling with the comforting scent of the calming incense lit for Xu Feng’s benefit.
"I could announce Xu Feng’s pregnancy," Xuan Yang started, but Xuan Jian’s look of disdain didn’t deter him as he continued on, "I would say he is newly with child."
Xuan Jian didn’t need much ti to consider this suggestion at all.
"There would be doctors sent to Nanshan imdiately, and then they would find him too far along in the pregnancy." Xuan Jian was completely unconvinced. "And it would leave room for visits in the na of caring for Xu Feng during his first pregnancy."
"We’ll need to announce a pregnancy at point in ti, and I’ll need to return to the main house soon."
Both statents were true.
Xuan Yang would need to appease his parents and grandparents, not necessarily about the lack of a pregnancy, but because of their display in Yilin Town. Xu Feng had announced Xuan Jian as his second husband.
While the Xuan family intended Jian to beco his second husband, they wanted this to develop after and official separation between Xu Feng and Xuan Yang. Now with the "village ger" having a second husband this would be a huge slight for the Xuan family.
"Even if the children don’t inherit any immortal bloodline traits..." Xuan Yang started, but Xuan Jian cut in full of doubt.
"That won’t happen. Xu Feng’s blood alone is too strong. Both he and I aren’t from this continent. How he found himself in Dongzhou is a mystery, but his children won’t be without any talent."
Xuan Yang sighed and nodded, he believed this much, but it made everything all the more complicated.
"We’ll need to buy a child or an egg from the black market for whenever we do announce Xu Feng’s pregnancy. Jinghua has the biggest egg black market with the ti of the prophecy drawing nearer."
There were black markets in many bigger cities, but Xuan Yang would need to go back to Jinghua with this summon. Wouldn’t this be the perfect ti to acquire an egg?
What would they do with their own eggs? Their children might take much longer to hatch with their obvious potential. They’ll need more energy than the average egg.
Could they even hatch their own eggs?
There were so many nuances to consider.
"WHEN we hatch our eggs," Xuan Jian took over seeing his lover start to spiral, "The timing will be wrong, they will likely be younger than the adopted child. We can claim they are adopted."
As the night wore on and the candles burned low, casting flickering shadows across the room, Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang continued their serious conversation. With each passing mont, the weight of their responsibilities pressed upon them, looming like dark clouds on the horizon.
