Xuan Yang’s voice, usually firm and assured, held a hint of shyness as he spoke. "I am in love and in a fully committed relationship with you."
Xu Feng’s eyes widened in surprise, the lamplight casting a warm glow in the living room. It was an unexpected confession from the typically reserved young master of the Xuan family, one of the most prominent immortal blood families.
He had just professed his love for Xu Feng, and not like a domineering president, instead it was soft and sweet and matched the flush on his face. It was cute, endearing even.
Xuan Jian, more composed but no less sincere, added, "I feel the sa way. We might need so kind of recognition, but legalities may not easily accommodate two husbands for one wife."
The contemplative expressions on their faces spoke volus to Xu Feng. They were contemplating a future together, pondering the logistics and possibilities. They were solidifying their union in their minds.
"Love?" Xu Feng echoed, still processing the mont.
"Love," Xuan Jian affird with an engaging smile, his charm shining through. A true Casanova at tis.
"Love," echoed Xuan Yang, his face redder but his determination there.
Silence fell over the room.
Xu Feng, taken aback by this extraordinary mont, gazed at them with widened eyes, the soft lamplight reflecting his astonishnt. The room seed to hold its breath, absorbing the intensity of the mont as the trio exchanged declarations that held the promise of a future together.
"Not just sex?"
"Cough, cough, cough," Xuan Jian seed to be choking on the words from Xu Feng’s lips. The ger was truly bold, and always full of surprises.
"Love and intimacy. Both" Xuan Yang didn’t back down here, and the passion behind his eyes reinforced the words that flowed from his lips.
"Baby?" At this point, Xu Feng was touching all the bases. If they were being honest and communicating clearly, he was going to get answers.
"You don’t want a baby?" It was Xuan Jian who fielded this question with another question. Seemingly trying to read between whatever lines Xu Feng gave them, and find the true answer.
"I’ve been thinking," Xuan Yang wasn’t ready to play any gas tonight, and shared his thoughts freely. He didn’t know just how attractive he was to Xu Feng in this mont, "A baby was the term for the initial contract, but my family would not be good for the child."
"A child would be a blessing," Xuan Jian added, trying to placate Xu Feng, "but there is too much you don’t understand. We would protect the child at all costs, but...it would only be a tool in the end."
Xu Feng wasn’t quite catching what the two n were putting down. Didn’t they want a baby. Wasn’t that why Doctor Ping was making house calls once a week?
This was too much new information.
"You seem to want the farm land Lady Xuan promised. I would offer you all the land Xuan family has to offer, but I cannot touch any gold or silver of the Xuan family until I have an heir."
It was starting to make more sense. This was one of the conditions for their marriage. This was one of the reasons Xuan Yang agreed to the marriage? He would be disinherited?
There should be more to this, Xu Feng thought as Xuan Yang continued.
"Nanshan is already yours, and it is a small bride price for my family. Even if we break the agreent, it is yours to keep. I would give you all if you wanted it."
"If we break the agreent," Xu Feng minced his words, "What about Lady Xuan?"
"I will handle it."
"Soooo..." Xu Feng pulled his thoughts together, giddy but still a bit confused, "I’ll still be your wife. Not just in na..."
"It’s a title only you can have." Xuan Jian added with a pointed smirk. He couldn’t be the wife legally, and he wouldn’t let his lover take another or lose his other lover.
"Oh," Xu Feng added, grinning back at the thoroughly ward up iceberg. "But we’ll be even poorer and Lady Xuan will likely stop sending us a monthly stipend?"
Xu Feng wasn’t really waiting for an answer, he was simply stating what he knew to be facts, putting the pieces together of the larger picture.
He completely overlooked the embarrassnt on both Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang’s faces. They both clearly understood that other than Xu Feng’s bride price, there was nothing more they could bring to the union from the Xuan family.
It ant nothing that Xuan Yang was the only legitimate young master of the family. The Xuan family wasn’t what it seed on the outside.
The truth was shaful, but still the truth.
Xu Feng on the other hand was making calculations in his head. After the stunt they pulled, forcing Lady Xuan to pay for food, and even give them three months of monthly stipend ahead of ti, wasn’t going to work in their favor.
He had been ignoring the nagging feeling when it ca to this, but they hadn’t received any silver for April, and the month was more than half gone. They likely wouldn’t be receiving anymore silver after the contract was broken.
And he wanted the contract broken.
There was no way around it. No matter what the Xuan family would or wouldn’t do with his baby, he didn’t want to play that ga.
"Okay," Xu Feng said abruptly, his most recent plan was to earn so silver from the Nanshan Mountain forests, then take the ball and his new family and run. He could live a good life without Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang and this huge estate to maintain.
It would hurt, but he could do it.
With this new developnt, he didn’t have to have a ball, and he didn’t need to run. He still needed to make money...silver though.
It would probably be easier to earn silver now that Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang were on the sa page with him. They could support the family...their family...with forest products, and sneak in so items from the greenhouse for a higher price.
.
.
.
That was anticlimactic as hell.
He would talk to both his husbands more on this later, but for now...
"I’m happy, but I really want a small snake."
"A small snake?" Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian both seed taken aback, was Xu Feng set on having a child even if they wanted to stay together in Nanshan estate?
"Go inside the room, I’ll show you what a small snake is."
