The flora around Nanshan estate was a stunning spectacle. Spring had kissed every petal, coaxing blossoms to bloom in vibrant hues. The gate was adorned with a breathtaking display of flowers—roses, azaleas, and peonies painted the entrance in vivid shades of reds, pinks, and whites.
The pear tree, its low-hanging branches offering a picturesque fra, swayed gently in the breeze, its leaves shimring like green confetti.
He had been to Nanshan estate yesterday...no it had been a week...no several weeks already.
Bai Mo’s mind andered through ti, recalling the frequency of his visits to the estate. There was a pang of concern as he realized the significant gap since his last visit—days lting into weeks in his absence. His brows furrowed slightly, a tinge of worry knitting his features as he pondered the unforeseen hiatus.
Bai Mo couldn’t help but look around with a wistful gaze. He had visited Xu Feng almost every other day, even in the depth of winter. Braving the cold and the treacherous roads to hang out with his friend.
Xu Feng would visit him too, but Bai Mo preferred to be out of town. He didn’t have too many fond mories there anymore. Even the mories of his parents were distant and hazy now.
With a thoughtful gaze, he looked around, almost as if searching for a place to root himself. Nanshan mountain and its neighboring village, Nanshan village, seed like a tranquil haven, a peaceful place to start a ho and cultivate a sense of belonging and peace.
Just as he reached out to grasp a low hanging leaf on the lush pear tree, his thoughts and actions were interrupted by a familiar, ecstatic voice. "Momo!!!"
The initial surprise painted Bai Mo’s face wide eyed, a reflexive response. Yet, as the voice resonated, a wave of recognition swept over him, the tension ebbing away, replaced by a sense of familiarity and comfort.
It was a natural reaction, and then his body seed to fully relax and rember sothing.
Rember what? Rember that his friend was a little strange. He didn’t follow the rules of polite company. He was excited and he showed it.
Xu Feng wasn’t like this with everyone. In fact, he WAS reserved and controlled in every way. When they both went out together, at the start of spring, before the Xuicai exam, Bai Mo had seen this in action.
His friend was very silent and reserved when in public, even when around acquaintances, but when it ca to people he trusted, everything was different.
The wide grin that greeted him seed to lt away all the stress over the last few weeks. Everything that had stressed a certain little Bai fox up, was only a distant thought.
None of it even mattered anymore. "Feng’er" he called back in return without much thought. He was excited to see the other man. His closest friend.
Still, Bai Mo found himself srized by the other man who was moving toward him gracefully.
Xu Feng sauntered toward Bai Mo, an effortless elegance filling every step, like a dancer moving to an unseen rhythm. Around them, the air humd with the vibrancy of spring, as if the very essence of the season had been captured in the blooming flora surrounding Nanshan estate.
The sun cast a golden hue over the blossoming trees that frad the estate’s entrance. The vivid colors of flowers painted a masterpiece against the backdrop of verdant greenery, creating a picturesque setting that seed to resonate with Xu Feng’s vibrant energy.
His silver hair, glistening strands catching the sunlight, cascaded down in a sleek, enchanting fall. Each movent he made seed choreographed.
His lips curved into a brilliant smile, accentuating his chiseled features. His gaze, like liquid rcury, held a radiant gleam, mirroring the shimring shades of spring as they sparkled with delight and warmth.
The red mark on his forehead, a subtle accent to his skin, was a focal point of its own, the fiery color drawing one’s eye there involuntarily.
In the backdrop, the estate’s servants in the vicinity appeared montarily startled by Xu Feng’s lively exclamation, their faces reflecting a mix of surprise and awe. They seed to freeze for a fleeting mont, captivated by the sudden outburst from their usually composed master.
All these elents wove together into a captivating display, drawing a breathtaking picture as Xu Feng gracefully crossed the greenery, the blessings of springti’s splendor and vitality.
Before Xu Feng was even close enough to touch Bai Mo suddenly felt bad for the Xuan young master, Xuan Yang. It took so ti for him to figure out who Xu Feng’s husband was. In fact, he had two "husbands."
The first ti Bai Mo learned of this detail, he had been too shocked to fully process or react to the information. But according to Xu Feng, n could have several wives, concubines, and maidservants to serve them, why couldn’t he have two husbands if everyone was agreeable?
There was nothing to be argued, and nothing Bai Mo wanted to argue.
The fact that both husbands had the surna of the large, prosperous, and imposing Xuan family ant nothing to the silver haired ger...
Bai Mo felt bad for both n. Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang. If he were them, he would also not want the man before him to leave their watchful gaze.
Even during their first eting, Xu Feng was the target of unkind eyes. Since then, he always seed to have an entourage (other than during the Xuicai exam, since he was in disguise).
Yet there were no imposing Xuan giants peeking around the corner. Even the three favored servants of Xu Feng’s family were nowhere to be seen.
’Where was everyone?’
In that mont, as Xu Feng enveloped Bai Mo in a tender embrace, a comforting warmth flowed around him, a blanket of reassurance in the middle of uncertainty. The touch was a delicate caress, an embrace familiar yet soothing, as if Xu Feng’s arms held a world of comfort.
Bai Mo was wrapped in a cocoon of softness, the subtle scent of spring mingling with the warmth that radiated from Xu Feng’s embrace. The sensation was ethereal, a fleeting mont that felt tiless.
For a brief mont, all worries and troubles seed distant, eclipsed by the embrace of his friend.
