Xu Feng felt the cringe run down his spine. His last statent was too much.

While trying to appear more appealing to the other gers in the courtyard and connect with them, he felt like a rotten politician trying to trick supporters for a cheap vote.

The kind that would take back their promises whether they won or lost the position they were competing for.

Internally he wanted to moan. Despite the almost physical feeling of sha threatening to overwhelm him, the crowd was reacting more positively than negatively.

At least a few of the gers in the room should know Sun Ming Hua well enough, he didn’t seem like one to keep a low profile. Xu Feng was an unknown ger in Yilin town, and while he most likely wasn’t going to stay a stranger after this incident, he needed to make a good impression.

At the very least he needed to not make an irredeemable bad impression for the sake of his contract with the Xuan family.

Sun Ming Hua on the other had mixed feelings about the attention, the collective gaze of the crowd serving as his audience. Those who used this mont to throw veiled daggered eyes at him had better hope he couldn’t pinpoint them in a crowd.

His confident behavior clashed with the simring malice directed at Xu Feng. It was a display of dominance, a clash of egos near the center of the courtyard.

A young miss attitude wasn’t sothing Xu Feng was against; he actually found the young miss confidence sothing he tried to embody occasionally. The thing Xu Feng was against was the obvious spite Sun Ming Hua had for him. It clearly hadn’t lessened over the winter months.

Xiao Pei, caught in the middle, felt the heat of frustration rising within him. The dignity he worked hard to maintain as a lead proctor now wobbled on the brink of collapse.

Others had the opportunity to proctor without any incidents, why did he get caught between two buddhas and an unknown ger.

"This one will do his best to ensure a smooth process as senior judges fairly in this matter." Xiao Pei was taken aback as Xu Feng made a slightly awkward bow following his statent. The movent was awkward, as if the ger was unaccustod to showing respect to seniors.

Not only were Xu Feng’s words well crafted, the awkward movents made Xiao Pei rethink his first judgnt. The more he looked, the greater a sense of wrongness he felt. This ger wasn’t what he seed.

Xiao Pei finally broke the silence. "The student’s words are bold. Accusations in the examination room demand evidence or they risk staining the integrity of the entire process. Second young master Sun, if you have proof, present it now."

The proctor’s stern voice echoed across the courtyard, cutting through the hushed whispers that had erged during the standoff. All eyes turned to Sun Ming Hua, who hesitated under the scrutiny. The weight of the crowd’s attention pressed on him, a silent challenge to validate his claims.

Sun Ming Hua, known for his flashy character, faltered. His normally confident facade cracked, revealing a vulnerability that startled even those who held disdain for him. The proctor’s insistence on evidence and unfriendly tone had disrupted Sun Ming Hua’s montum, leaving him montarily dazed.

Xu Feng, maintaining his composure, seized the opportunity to add. "I’m willing to cooperate fully. I have nothing to hide."

Xiao Pei, torn between the duty to maintain order and the desire to conclude the exam smoothly, took a deep breath. "Very well. Second young master Sun, if you cannot provide evidence, we will proceed with the final transcription of answers. Accusations without rit can’t impede the progress of the exam."

As the weight of the lead proctor’s pronouncent settled, the courtyard beca a stage for the silent clash between the wealthy and the common man.

The onlookers, like spectators in an ancient theater, observed the unfolding drama with a mixture of weariness and anticipation. Votes were cast in the form of wary glances, silent judgnts that hung in the air.

For those yearning to resu the exam, the tension in the courtyard was an unwelco distraction.

For Sun Ming Hua, the venomous words he had spat at Xu Feng were montarily retracted, a calculated move to regain control of the story. He could control himself enough until the other ger was found guilty of cheating.

The transition from silver to brown hair didn’t escape Sun Ming Hua’s discerning gaze. He, with the confidence of a beauty uncontested in Yilin town, saw through Xu Feng’s coverup.

That day in the bookstore, Xu Feng’s red mole was too vivid to be natural. The man before him, in Sun Ming Hua’s eyes, was an imposter, a threat to the reputation he held dearly for his entire life.

Sun Ming Hua, his eyes narrowed with suspicion, observed Xu Feng closely. The tall ger’s now brown hair might have made him more palatable to Sun Ming Hua, but the tension remained.

"Yes, Brother Xiao," Sun Ming Hua continued, using familiar terms with Xiao Pei, his voice carrying a hint of innocence. "This unsavory ger not only fiddles with his mole," he gestured towards Xu Feng’s face, and a ripple of attention spread through the room as gers examined the shade of red between his brows, "he was getting answers from below his shirt."

The accusation hung in the air like a dark cloud. Xu Feng, though confused by the sudden turn of events, didn’t falter. His gaze t Sun Ming Hua’s, a mix of confusion and defiance in his eyes. The onlookers, torn between curiosity and suspicion, leaned in to catch every word.

"So, you think I have so sort of cheat sheet in my robes?" Xu Feng questioned.

Sun Ming Hua, a sly smirk playing on his lips, retorted, "It wouldn’t be the first ti soone tried to cheat their way through an exam, especially soone like you."

Xu Feng took a deep breath. "I have nothing to hide."
