Xu Feng let out a soft, almost wistful sigh, contemplating why he couldn’t simply conjure gold out of thin air. If he had the magical skill of an alchemist, perhaps he’d relocate to a remote area and build a smaller, more modest ho compared to Nanshan.

Then he wouldn’t need to worry about servants and their loyalties or to deal with in-laws or other random people. He would choose to live near nature, maybe deep within a forest or nestled among the mountains like he was not, and lead a calm and untroubled life, just like a salted fish.

In so ways, this life seed to suit him though. The drama creators were out of the picture, and he was bound by this contract for a maximum of three years.

Freedom was on the horizon, and the thought of being obligated to do sothing weighed heavily on his mind. He longed to free himself and release the heavy rock that seed to rest on his chest.

Standing aside, Xu Feng observed as Erlang negotiated with the shopkeeper regarding the delivery of all the goods, he had bought that day.

The shop was now bustling with custors, and the shopkeeper had to erge from the back to assist the overwheld store assistant that Xu Feng had just bullied.

The day wasn’t over yet for Xu Feng’s group; they still had several more stops to make, and the carriage had limited space. Additionally, Xu Feng wasn’t prepared to provide directions to Nanshan estate.

While a few in Yilin town might have heard of the estate, reaching it was no easy feat. Even getting to more straight forward Nanshan village was difficult for many non-natives. The mountain path was winding and challenging, even to those familiar with the area.

Xu Feng willingly delegated this responsibility to the capable Erlang, as he had no interest in learning the intricate routes either.

Xu Feng appeared deeply absorbed in the discussion with the shopkeeper and Erlang, but from the corner of his eye, he discreetly glanced toward the two imposing n standing near the shop’s entrance.

Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang, with their tall and commanding presence, stood like guardians, towering over the store’s decorations and rchandise.

The ladies and gers in the shop couldn’t help but sneak glances at them, so even boldly attempting to make eye contact, as if drawn to their attractive appearances.

As Xu Feng considered the store’s layout, it was evident that the builders hadn’t taken their exceptional heights into account. It seed as though if Xuan Yang stood on his tiptoes, he might even touch the ceiling.

"Pftt...." The thought brought a sudden chuckle to Xu Feng, and he hastily looked down at the floor as he tried to hold it in, concealing his laughter. He didn’t want to make eye contact with the n he had just been watching.

He was acting naturally.

This necessary spending spree and unnecessary haggling tactics were all part of Xu Feng’s plan. While he had experience with shopping alongside his mother in the other world, he had never truly haggled before. Although it had been enjoyable, it wasn’t sothing he would typically do.

Too much work.

So why would he start today?

For freedom of course!

Xu Feng had initially suggested that Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang split up from him and Erlang for their shopping errands. However, both n stubbornly refused his humble request, which was not sothing Xu Feng was accustod to accepting.

When it didn’t suit him, Xu Feng didn’t take no for an answer!

He was determined to have peace of mind, especially when they were in such a remote area.

While the two n were undeniably attractive and often the subjects of his admiration back at Nanshan estate, their presence in a small town was a completely different scenario.

It was nice when they were eye candy back at the estate, but here in the wild, it was a different story. A very stifling story.

Xu Feng found it challenging enough when he went out with just the children, but having these two striking figures with him was like a magnet for the won and gers in the town’s curiosity and interest.

Their stay in the cloth shop had been lengthy, and instead of lurking like a casual passersby, it seed that people had forgotten all about their sha.

So were lingering outside the store, openly gawking at the two n who were clearly not locals. The bolder ones had even ventured into the store, blatantly staring or using veiled glances to catch a glimpse of the Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian.

The increasing number of custors and attention Xu Feng had brought to the cloth shop should have warranted him a more significant discount.

So of the local won and gers had even returned to the shop with their friends. A few had taken the ti to dress up before fluttering around the two imposing n, like moths drawn to a fla.

Xu Feng had his fair share of stares as well.

Many of the won and gers seed to find it hard to believe he was indeed a ger without getting up close to examine his deep red mole and the piercings in his ears.

Once they were convinced, so looked genuinely disappointed, only to then shift their focus back to the two "eligible" bachelors.

In ancient tis, even if one of the n, whether Xuan Yang or Xuan Jian, was married to a ger (Xu Feng), they could still join the family as a concubine or even hope to beco an equal second wife, if luck was on their side.

The spectacle in the cloth shop had drawn the attention of so won with better backgrounds. These won entertained the hope that Xu Feng was a re concubine, which would allow them to vie for the role of main wife.

Xu Feng’s initial intention had been to bore the two n enough to make them leave him be. However, as Erlang continued dealing with the store assistant, he realized that his plan had backfired.

His haggling tactics had sohow emboldened a few won to enter the shop and flutter around the two n. So even dared to glare at Xu Feng, possibly thinking that his "unmannered" behavior made them more suitable matches for the two n.
