"If you do sothing like you did in the forest, I will scream as loud as I can," Joanna warned in a low yet firm tone when Canillas bent over and brought his face to the sa level as hers.

Despite the warning, Canillas smiled. "Can you please elaborate on what I did to you in the forest?" He asked, staring at her hazel-colored eyes.

He could finally see them more clearly for the first ti, even noticing gold specks on her iris, and it was all thanks to their proximity and the presence of warm light in the room, although those alluring eyes were directed away from him at the mont.

anwhile, feeling a warm breath brushing her lips, Joanna felt the warm room suddenly turn colder as a shiver crawled down her spine, making her turn her head away as a response, just like she did in the forest.

Rembering what he would do next, Joanna made a step aside, repeating the futile action that she had taken a few monts ago as she still attempted to avoid the next scene that occurred in the forest being repeated again. However, his hands were suddenly placed on the wall on either side of her head, making her effort once again fruitless. When she did not give up as she lowered her head to pass the barrier, the hands were lowered as well.

Holding the sharp glare that was aid at him, Canillas said with a smile, "Tell what I did in the forest, Joanna."

Joanna pursed her lips, inwardly planning to do sothing to make the annoying man, who liked pestering her over matters that she disliked, stop speaking. But she knew that she could not do that to the precious General, apart from that, she was not that kind of cruel person.

"It was sothing that I didn’t like. Please let go now, Sir Canillas," Joanna demanded, glaring at him. "Or I will scream," she added when she saw the annoying man showing his stubbornness as usual, smiling calmly instead.

On the other hand, Canillas, the annoying man, stared at his wife’s fierce eyes before a chuckle escaped him. "Do that, my dear wife. You are free to scream as loudly as you can if you want to make the children awake from their peaceful slumber. You can also do that if you want to taint their pure minds when they find out what makes you scream like that," replied Canillas nonchalantly.

Another chuckle slipped out of his lips when he saw the change in her deanor, as if contemplating sothing. "What is it now running through your head, Joanna? Thinking of pointing a dagger at again?"

Upon hearing his words, Joanna, who actually thought about kicking the annoying man in the sa area as she did in the forest, drifted her focus on the dagger that she kept in her trunk, as she was not used to taking it with her when she was inside her dwelling place. It made her consider changing her habits. She would keep the dagger with her even in her sleep after she managed to free herself from the annoying man before her.

But now, because the dagger was away from her, she would get rid of him with what she had with her, which was her knee. Then she would run faster than she did in the forest this morning. Once she left the room, she would lock him from outside and then leave the orphanage with the Barasca knights. If the General’s n blocked her from leaving, she would not hesitate to order the Barasca knights to fight with them this ti.

She did not care anymore about the King’s anger if he found out she had offended his precious General. Royal punishnt was a matter to think about later. It was Joanna’s plan.

However, before she could execute the plan that she had arranged in her head, she turned frozen when there was sothing touching her right knee.

"Or are you planning to use this knee for another mind-blowing kick?" A low voice, which sounded deeper than usual, along with a warm breath, brushed her ear this ti.

lting her frozen state, Joanna shifted her head to avoid such a threatening action. Subsequently, she tried to dash as one of the hands that caged her disappeared, but she could not do so as the hand that moved to her knee tightened, preventing her from running away.

"But let tell you sothing, wife. Trying to apply the sa thods as you did before to defend yourself against the sa person is not wise," Canillas remarked in a voice barely above a whisper, close to her ear. "You need to find another thod apart from pointing a dagger or kicking down there." Canillas chuckled before adding,

"Don’t you know that it is not good to give torture to that part more than once a day? Although you declared that you don’t want to have children with , still, it can’t hurt so that it can keep functioning. We never know if one day you will change your mind, as people tend to change. Don’t you think so, wife?" At his words, Joanna’s heart skipped a beat.

’People tend to change.’

These were the words she kept in mind to avoid being swayed by the General, as she was sure that he would change one day, from the tender man he had been so far to the cold person in the dream.

But she never looked at herself. Would she have her heart changed one day? Joanna wondered, drifting her mind completely away from the threat before her.

"But I am really curious about where you hid the dagger when we were in the forest. Was it here?" With those words uttered, Canillas trailed his hand, which had grabbed her knee, slowly upward, while his gaze lingered on her unfocused hazel eyes as if she had her soul sowhere.

Canillas slightly frowned at her absentmindedness but was soon relieved when the reaction he expected to receive from the beautiful woman before him was there, as if her soul had finally returned to her body.

Even though the touch was not direct contact with her skin, that part of her body where his hand was now rested, which seed to be sensitive, was enough to call her back from her trance. And before it could move further upward to the region that was never touched by anyone, she hurriedly removed her hands from the knot of her robe to prevent it from moving any further.

She turned panicky when she noticed the change in his eyes. There was no playfulness that he showed before. Instead, it was like staring into the heart of a flickering fla.

Joanna shook her head vigorously. "Please stop," she demanded. "I really don’t like it," she added hurriedly. "If you don’t stop, I will never forgive you, Sir Canillas." Her stern voice trembled and her challenging eyes quivered, but the cold-hearted woman still tried to show her bravery, refusing to give in.

Despite her brave-sounding demand, Canillas did not pull his hand away imdiately. He still placed it there, not making any slight movent, while staring at the wavering, watery hazel eyes that were beautifully glistening under the warm glow that was illuminated in the room.
