It was really warm, which made Joanna want to sleep more.
She was still sleepy, but her drowsy mind was still able to work to remind her that she had to wake up earlier than her usual morning routine call as she had to continue the rest of the journey to the capital.
But she had no desire to wake up yet. She wanted to sleep more because she felt so tired and sleepy.
It always made Joanna wonder why she always felt tired while she did not do any vigorous activity that drained her energy but spent more ti just sitting in the carriage the day before. Every ti she had a long trip for days, she would be in her current state, tired and needing to sleep more.
But if Joanna thought more thoroughly, during the long trips, she always managed to wake up as early as possible, based on what she had planned and set in mind before she went to sleep.
Probably, it was because she always called for the night earlier after she had dinner with her father, not spending too much ti on extra activities like encountering the impudent Viscount and having a deep yet mind-blowing conversation that made her feel like a cat on a hot tin roof with the man who liked to cause a stir in her heart and mind in this present journey.
It was the end of Joanna’s dawdling thoughts before her mid-consciousness slowly drifted away again as she decided not to recall what happened between her and the man before she went into slumber. Instead, she decided to get an extra five minutes of sleep, as she thought it would be useful to help her regain more strength to pass through a longer journey.
Her father had told her that they had to leave for Cresca before six in the morning so that they would arrive far before midnight. Without her father reminding her again about the departure schedule when they had dinner the previous day, Joanna actually knew what ti they would depart from the inn, as it was the sa schedule that her father always set whenever they went to the capital.
But Joanna was so certain that her father would understand if, this ti, she was a little bit behind schedule. Her father would for sure wait for her, not leaving her, even if she was late for a longer ti.
With that in mind, Joanna moved closer to the source of the warmth that gave her comfort, which beca one reason for her to take extra ti to rest.
It was so warm and comfortable, which made her want to move, indulging further, although there was no more space for her to move as she was already stuck with the source of warmth.
She could feel that if she was away from this source of warmth, she would be struck with cold air. Hence, Joanna wanted to stay warm for a few more minutes.
And the source of the warmth that made her want to get more warm was so responsive, as if knowing that she needed to be protected from the cold air that was surrounding her. She was brought closer by sothing that circled around her waist and her shoulders, which pushed her body inward so that she could stick more to it.
Further than that, the source of the warmth was indeed so understanding. Her bare feet also felt so warm, just like her entire body, and Joanna thanked whatever it was that wrapped her feet.
And it did not end there, as Joanna also felt one side of her cheek was shielded from coldness. Because of that, even in her drowsy state, she could still perceive that if she was not wrapped in this kind of source of warmth, she would be hit with coldness like the other side of her cheek, which did not get its share of warmth.
The source of warmth was also kind enough to her, as she could also hear the sound of music that was played close to where her ear pressed on it. As she wanted to listen more to enjoy the pleasing tune, Joanna pressed her cheek to the warm source, which felt soft yet slightly tickled her cheek.
It made Joanna wonder what kind of fabric could provide this kind of texture.
Her wondernt still went on. As if she carefully listened to the sound that she was hearing, sohow she recognized what kind of lody it was.
The wondernt that made her sleepiness gradually drift away brought her mind to another perception. If she perceived it more ticulously, she could sohow grasp why she could feel this warm and what was laid on her waist, shoulders, and feet.
Aside from that, she sohow recognized the scent that went through her nose.
Moving to raise her hand, which was folded between her chest and the source of the warmth, Joanna brought it to touch the peculiar texture that was in contact with her cheek, causing the source of the warmth to produce an incoherent sound that ca from above her head.
As the sleepiness flew by, awakened by the produced sound, Joanna opened her eyes slowly, and what t her blurry eyes for the first ti was sothing about which she was not sure what to describe yet.
If her surroundings were not as dim as they were at the mont, she could quickly grasp what that was.
There was no light that ca from candles or flas on the fireplace, which made Joanna realize why she could still perceive coldness even though she was blanketed in warmth.
However, Joanna did not want to be too oblivious, pretending to be unaware of what she was facing at the mont. She knew exactly what the silhouette that lay before her eyes was, even without light helping her to get a clear sight of what it was.
Who else did stay in the sa bed as her and dare to embrace her when she was once again in a defenseless state, sleeping like a dead log?
No one dared to touch her but the cunning man, who did not only make her have a short slumber as an impact of their conversation and his confession last night but also did not keep his word to her this ti.
