’Apologize? Did this man... just apologize to ?’
Bai Yunxian stopped struggling as he was shocked by the words.
Again.
Again, this man apologized to him.
He was the proud son of heaven ruling over the vast lands and the living things within it. But to think that such a man would apologize to a re good for nothing, a useless human like Bai Yunxian would be nothing but a dream.
Even though Bai Yunxian knew that Yun Shu wasn’t at fault, or didn’t do sothing that would make him a villain, he still couldn’t bear it and made a fuss. Because of his useless jealousy, he dared to shout at his benefactor, the one who gave him a new life.
But instead of getting mad back at him, Yun Shu did sothing that he couldn’t even think of.
He apologized so simply, all just to coax him.
Bai Yunxian didn’t speak up anymore, staying silent as he stopped moving, because the sound of heartbeat coming from Yun Shu was pleasantly loud. Because, Yun Shu had so other thoughts.
’He’s jealous, isn’t it?’
’I don’t know why am I feeling so happy though?’
"I let that old hag touch for the sake of the mission, I swear I didn’t have any interest in her, nor did I cheat on you." Yun Shu said as she looked down at Bai Yunxian, who was still pouting even after hearing her explanation, her heart was warm.
"My Lord ignored and avoided , you did it since that might have gotten drunk. Even if I did sothing wrong, you could have consulted one and warned so that I make sure not to make the sa mistake again. You didn’t tell anything, instead ignoring completely, you had fun with another woman!"
Bai Yunxian knew that it wasn’t his place to complain about those things, because they had nothing going on. Yun Shu never answered him, he wasn’t sure if he really saw him as a man, not a contract partner.
He didn’t care anymore whether Yun Shu was a man or a woman, because whatever he was, Bai Yunxian had no intention to leave his side.
Even so, the assuring hands that patted his back and encouraged him to speak up made him feel bold enough to complain like this.
If Yun Shu were to push him away after this, then everything would be over for them.
But...
Even if Yun Shu were to push him away, he wouldn’t do the sa.
He will do everything to ensure his safety, even if it costs his life... he was prepared to give it away.
"You don’t know what you did wrong, still you say you can accept any punishnt I give?" Yun Shu grabbed his chin as she forced it up, making Bai Yunxian look into her eyes.
"Did you rember what happened that night?" Yun Shu asked, her piercing gaze fixated on him.
It was a look that made Bai Yunxian feel excitent and fear at the sa ti, a bone chilling gaze that she only reserved for her enemies. But there was sothing else, an emotion hidden beneath that stern exterior that sent shivers down his spine. Instinctively, Bai Yunxian was able to assu that he would be devoured by this man completely, if he didn’t be careful on what to say at this point.
He lowered his gaze from her as his expression turned into a painful one.
How could he not rember what happened that night?
The shaful things that he did were done when he was still drunk, but it was unexpected of him to see that pair of hungry eyes preying on him.
What, weren’t we both at fault if I think this way?
But, no. That wouldn’t be sothing possible. Maybe, he was also intoxicated at that ti. Or else there is no way Lord Yun would look at like that.
After thinking this, Bai Yunxian was sure of it after confirming Yun Shu who avoided him the very next day.
Even if Bai Yunxian was heartbroken, he didn’t show him any of his emotions. But he felt an uncontrollable rage and jealousy the mont he saw him laugh with another woman.
’I know that I’m not supposed to get in his way of pursuing other won, but I can’t just stand it!’
And now, here they were. Bai Yunxian didn’t know how he should respond.
"I... do."
Bai Yunxian gulped down his saliva as he finally broke the silence and confessed, but didn’t dare to look up at Yun Shu.
He didn’t know what expression he would have in his face, would it be contempt, or disgust and hate?
He didn’t want to see, he didn’t want to know.
Yun Shu saw the dejected expression on his face, but she didn’t let him be like this for long as she leaned closer to his ears, whispering sweetly, "Then, don’t you understand how hard it is for , to control myself?"
Her warm breathing tickled Bai Yunxian’s ear and nape, but he didn’t have ti to focus on that as his whole body stiffened, looking up at the man with wide eyes full of shock and disbelief.
"W-what?" Bai Yunxian stamred, his legs also felt weak as he stared at Yun Shu, who was staring back at him with a little mischievous smile on her face.
"Honestly, it took you longer to realize than I thought. I think I should’ve been a little more forward in this. Don’t worry, I’ll rember to clearly express myself to you from now on." His dumbfounded expression was really a sight to see which made Yun Shu very happy.
It was him who didn’t know that this relationship was a straight one, not a crooked one where a man loves another, but a woman loves a man so much that she is willing to take all the burden with a smile on her face.
Not that he needed to know.
