Chapter 94: Stumble and Fall

The next morning, Keira started her mile run with a crumpled face.

"So, you really want to turn

down, huh? You are testing my durability, huh?" Keira hissed as she prepared herself to run.

She knew very well that Zach was watching her.

"I will not stop! No matter what!" she shouted irritably. She repeated the sa words as if making it her cadence.

She was the only one doing a mile run while the others were doing their usual exercise routine.

"What happened?" Trish asked.

Lana answered, "It’s her punishnt for not addressing an officer properly."

"Who?" whispered Trish.

"General Lim," Lana answered simply.

"Isn’t it a bit too much? I an, May only did push-ups before, rember?" Trish asked as she watched Keira run.

"Maybe, they want us to see that they are fair to everyone. Maybe, they want us to know that even if she disobeys orders and breaks rules, she will not be punished lightly just because she is the Field Marshal’s daughter," Lana explained as she did the exercises.

Keira was panting hard after her two-mile run.

Zach walked towards her.

"Finish the usual exercise routine with Sergeant Cole before you go to breakfast. Make sure to finish your breakfast with your unit to be in ti for the next training," Zach instructed with his usual cold and expressionless face.

Keira stared at him, breathing loudly before she said, "Yes, General!"

Zach turned around and walked towards Sergeant Cole.

"Have her do the routine exercise, but..." he whispered but his words hung in the middle as if he was contemplating whether he should add other instructions or not.

"Yes, General?" Sergeant Cole asked, waiting for further instructions.

Zach let out a worn-out sigh as he spoke, "Do the regular amount of exercises."

"Aye, Sir!" Sergeant Cole said and walked towards Keira who was still panting.

Her comrades were almost done with the Physical training and were soon going to grab their breakfast.

Keira finished her physical training and ate breakfast halfway with her unit. Lana and May waited for her.

"Wolf is a bit weird..." May murmured as she watched Keira taking her breakfast in a hurry.

"Slow down or you’ll get indigestion," Lana comnted as she poured water for Keira.

"That big, bad Wolf is doing this intentionally! He’s treating

like a kid! He thinks I’m playing around! He is so an! I’m really pissed off right now, girls!" Keira stated with flaring nostrils.

"Ohh? So, does that an you don’t like him anymore? Let’s go now and quit. I really miss eating a lot of sweets," encouraged May. Just at the simple thought of her favorite blueberry cheesecakes and other desserts her eyes sparkled.

Keira narrowed her eyes, as her eyebrows arched at May.

"Who said I don’t? I won’t get tired of him... I’ll just do what he wants. I’m an obedient girlfriend, you know..." Keira stated this ti she sighed and pouted her lips.

"Girlfriend... really? Well, your boyfriend isn’t aware of that yet..." Lana said in a teasing tone as she and May laughed.

Keira ignored them as she was really irritated, but that would not stop her from liking Zach.

"He must see that I’m really serious and not playing around!" she said with conviction.

May helplessly looked at Lana who shrugged her shoulders at her with eyes saying, ’she’s a hopeless case already. What do you expect?’

At that mont, Zach and Torin entered the canteen to get their breakfast.

"Drink your water, and let’s get prepared for the field training exercises at East Range. Gosh, it looks like a jungle out there!" May complained.

When they were doing their shooting practice, she could see tall grass and cross timbers at East Range.

Lana laughed and said, "Of course, it’s a jungle since we will be doing a series of mock battles pitting against another platoon."

Keira stood up, inhaled and exhaled as if calming herself. Then she bit her lips and stared at Zach’s table.

"Don’t follow

okay. I need a bit of space, so stay at least two ters away." Keira murmured as she began to walk.

Although confused, Lana and May did as Keira instructed.

They kept their distance and were startled when Keira almost stumbled on her feet when she was almost near Zach’s table.

But of course, she did not fall as soone was quick to catch her.

Keira let out a aningfully wicked smile while her eyes never left Zach’s.

Then she bit her lip and said, "Thank you, General. Sorry, I..."

Zach, who was still holding her, had his usual blank and stoic expression.

He let go of Keira and scolded, "We don’t want a clumsy soldier in here. Make sure you are always alert, Soldier Chan!"

"Got it, General," she said then she quickly whispered, making sure that only Zach could hear her, "Next ti, let

stumble and fall..."

Then she smiled and quickly walked away with a wide grin curved on her face.

Zach pursed his lips as he sat back on his chair.

"Hey, aren’t you an with her. It isn’t her fault that she almost tripped. She looked so tired after the two-mile run and exercises." Torin mumbled as he continued to eat. He felt that Zach was acting weird.

"How am I an? In the past, we were punishing them even harder," Zach comnted simply.

He still managed to maintain his expressionless face. He was still hesitant if he should tell Torin about the situation because the guy was a blabbermouth.

"Yeah, but not to female soldiers. They have weaker bodies compared to males. What is wrong, Bro?" asked Torin with a creased forehead. He knew his brother very well. Sothing was definitely going on.

Zach answered him with a sigh as he said, "Finish your food, Torin. This is just normal training. We shouldn’t get too casual with new recruits."

Torin’s face crumpled as he mused, ’You were the one acting all soft and stuff in the beginning, and now you want to act hard? The heck, Bro!’

This ti, he would let go of this matter but he would surely find out what’s going on sooner or later.

.......

"What was that?" May asked when they were out of the canteen.

Keira smiled mischievously as she answered, "Testing the waters..."
