Chapter 198: Rule Alone

At the beeping sound of the scanner, they were scanned again by the securities of the scanner ship. This ti, separately. One by one...

Zach, Torin and Snake were already on high alert before, but their level of alertness had now surged to the highest ebb. They scanned for possible weapons near them, and prepared silently in their minds for the escape plan that they had discussed before, in case their cover was blown.

"Remove it all!" instructed one of the n while pointing at their watches which appeared to be the ones bugging the scanner.

"No! Call Mr. Big and inform him that we will not remove anything. You already stripped us off our weapons and that was enough concession from our side" Zach spoke in a cold tone of voice as he stood there, keeping an eye on the man that seed to be the one in charge.

One of the n dialed Mr. Big who then appeared on the screen before them.

Zach’s narrowed an eye as he said nacingly, "Do you really expect us to do everything your way? If you won’t let my n to know our exact location then let’s just call this deal off. We can ask another supplier, given the situation you are in right now. Be thankful I even agreed to let just two of my n to accompany ..."

Mr. Big laughed on the screen that roared inside the room. "Relax, Wolf... Don’t be hasty... I told you before, this is how I do my transactions. I believe you have also done your research on how I treat my clients...? They are all still alive and kicking, aren’t they? Well, except those who are stupid enough to betray

or not willing to comply with my rules, of course... Co on Wolf, you know this isn’t called the Ghost Ship for nothing, so I’m afraid I can’t act as you wish and let your n know the whereabouts of my ship. But, I will compromise by allowing your weapons with you inside..." explained Mr. Big.

Zach’s cold and expressionless face remained. It was part of the plan, those watches were only decoys for the actual scanning and tracking device that was placed inside the contact lenses they were currently wearing.

"If you want to take more than just our weapons and won’t let my n know your ship’s location, then I will need to bring more n with ... I told you, there’s a boundary to things that I would tolerate and compromise on. I can’t let everything go your way... That’s just like giving myself the short end of the stick, isn’t it? Now why would I do that? You do realize that you’re not the one with the upper hand, in your current situation, don’t you, Mr. Big?" Said Zach unbendingly, as he dragged his last words lazily and mockingly.

"Five n..." said Mr. Big.

"Ten n..." said Wolf.

"Six n..." murmured Mr. Big. This ti his eyebrows almost kissed each other.

"Okay, six n, but ard! That’s it, or we will pull off from the deal," said Zach resolutely with a stern voice, putting an end to the negotiation.

Mr. Big cursed inside. If the amount of money involved was not that huge, he would have not even bothered to entertain these bastards.

"Alright, six ard n," Mr. Big hissed before turning off the video call.

"Fu*ck those bastards!" Mr. Big furiously exclaid. This was the first ti that he had to bend to the other party’s will at a negotiation.

"Where is Thea?" What’s taking them so long?!" he shouted to his n.

"Boss, Draco had Madam Thea and they are almost at the loading dock." explained one of his n.

"Prepare the n! We will sail out as soon as the deal is closed!" instructed Mr. Big before he went inside his office.

The Ghost Ship was a fast, maneuverable, long-endurance warship, illegally owned by Mr. Big. Its combination of sensors and weapons suggested great anti-submarine warfare capabilities. And its exceptionally remarkable stealth attributes were the reason why it was so difficult to trace.

After about thirty minutes, Zach and his n arrived at the Ghost Ship and was greeted by Mr. Big as soon as they were aboard.

"Welco Mr. Wolf..." said Mr. Big with his poker face. He had no mask on right now, but it was not like Zach wouldn’t be able to recognize him even with his mask on.

Zach looked around as he comnted, "So this is your so called Ghost Ship. Not bad..."

"Yeah, I know right? I spent billions on this one. It’s my baby... Well, apart from my woman, of course. Anyway, let’s head inside my office so we can finalize the deal soon. You know I’m in a hurry," said Mr. Big with a grin as he led Zach inside, but his n were stopped before the door.

"Ahhh, Wolf you don’t need to bring a troop inside. It’s just

and the guy who handles my finance there. How about you bring just one assistant with you?" said Mr. Big as he looked straight at Zach’s eyes.

"Alright, Falcon, co with ..." said Zach as he gestured Torin to follow him.

Inside the office, Zach and Torin’s eyes were working actively as they scanned each corner of the room, just like before when they just boarded the ship. This was to provide the headquarters with a full visual on the area.

"This ship is actually quite nice. I will inform Hawk about it, maybe we can also get one for ourselves. You know, for our future trades," comnted Zach in a casual manner as he walked around the room.

Mr. Big laughed out loud as he replied, "Yeah... But you should have your own style on it, yes? This one was already trademarked by . By the way, where is Mr. Hawk? I thought you two are an inseparable pair."

Zach’s facial muscles flinched upon hearing Mr. Big’s words but he quickly composed himself and said, "Hawk? I left him behind. It’s not good for both of us to be present at the final eting when closing a deal. It’s always either one of us. We only go to etings during the mid-negotiations phase together. But for instances like this? It’s a big NO."

Mr. Big arched his eyebrows but he did understand where Wolf was coming from. In the underworld, one would always have to remain on one’s toes and take precautions, as things could always go wrong and devolve to utter chaos in a matter of seconds. And if that happened, at least one of them would survive. Well, that was them, not him. There could only be one captain on his ship. He wanted to rule alone.

They started the trade...

Torin worked on the wire transfer of the funds once he got the confirmation from their team at the dock that they had received the contrabands in good orders.

"See how fast and easy everything goes with money? I hope we will have more dealings in the future, Mr. Wolf. By the way, you have seen my face, but I haven’t seen yours nor Hawk’s. Would you grace

with the opportunity to see the face behind that mask now? Besides, I presu we have each other’s trust now?" said Mr. Big after his finance guy had confird that paynt had already been credited to their account in good orders.

But their conversation was interrupted when one of his n called and whispered sothing in his ear.

"What?!" Who is that bastard!?" Mr. Big shouted as he stood up to go out of the room. He gestured his n to escort Zach and Torin back to the speedboat which would bring them back to the dock.

Outside on the deck, Torin rounded his eyes when he saw Jeru on his knees looking up at them.

"Sh*it!" Torin cursed softly and Zach glared at him to keep quiet.
