Chapter 16: Monster In Disguise

"She’s so clumsy. Cielo must have heard wrong. That’s impossible..." Zach murmured as he entered the Military Base. His forehead creased as he kept on thinking about what Cielo had told them yesterday.

Till that mont, he still couldn’t digest the news that Cielo had told them, about Field Marshal’s daughter taking part in the admission tests the next day. She looked fragile and being in a military base did not suit her at all.

Their tests were usually compiled of written exams and a physical test as well. If his guess was right, then Field Marshal Chan’s daughter wouldn’t pass the physical tests for sure, would she?

’Stop judging, Zach. You don’t know that girl well enough to say that. Maybe, she is capable, and you don’t have any idea about it at all...’ once again he scolded himself for being pessimistic about that person.

’Did Field Marshal Chan really allow his only daughter to join the military?’ He mused again.

’Why would I even care if it’s true or not?’ He then scolded himself for thinking too much about sothing that he was not even involved with.

Then, he chuckled as he recalled Torin’s drooling face at the thought of a Goddess joining their base. Torin was very excited to watch tomorrow’s tests. He was anticipating to witness Field Marshal Chan’s daughter in action.

He shook his head as he saw Torin at the lobby.

’Speaking of that playboy!’ He could bet that his excited friend was getting more information from the trainee soldier at Field Marshal Chan’s office.

"Is this Senior harassing you?" Zach asked the soldier with a serious tone.

Torin quickly defended himself and said, "Who’s harassing who? I’m just asking our soldier if he had any idea about the identities of the applicants in the upcoming tests tomorrow. But sadly, Field Marshal Chan did not involve himself for this year’s selection and would let you and the rest of the Generals decide. So, it made

think that our dear Cielo was right with her news yesterday. By the way, where are you heading to?"

"I am going to report to Field Marshal’s office. After I am going to have a eting with the Generals for tomorrow’s test. Why?" Zach answered simply.

"Let’s go out tonight? Drink outside before we get locked-up inside this base." Torin said with a sigh.

"Alright, let’s talk about it later," Zach answered and left Torin. The latter continued his talk with the soldier.

"General Zach is gone, so let’s continue. Where did we stop? Ah, here, so, you an her beauty is really jaw-dropping?" Torin asked the soldier who had the chance to see Keira face to face at Field Marshal Chan’s office.

"Yes, Sir. I’m not lying. I’ve even got my tongue tangled and couldn’t talk properly. She’s prettier than the celebrities I’ve seen in the movies. You see... General Liu was also left in a daze like he was bewitched and smiling on his own. Then, I’ve even heard him say ’She should be mine’..." the soldier continued exaggeratedly, copying Gen. Liu’s voice and expressions.

"The heck. Who would own such a beauty like that? You said she’s like a tigress, right? I’m sure she’s a spoiled brat and very stubborn. That kind of a woman is hard to ta. But of course, it will be nice to see such a beauty inside our base... Don’t you agree." Torin said to the soldier who nodded in agreent, then smiled sweetly and murmured, "Yes, Sir. If soone like her is inside our base, it’s already enough for ."

Torin frowned and followed to the spot where the soldier’s eyes were directed.

"The hell with you. If Field Marshal Chan’s daughter is a tigress, then the one approaching now is absolutely a ’monster’ in disguise!" Torin exclaid. Maybe, Cielo vaguely heard sothing, so she asked upon approaching.

"What are you saying, Lieutenant? It seems like you are cursing

behind my back?!" Cielo asked with an arched eyebrow, then she shifted her gaze to the soldier and asked, "Am I being slandered by this man, soldier?"

The soldier’s face paled and he looked at Torin, asking for help because Lieutenant Cielo Kang was definitely very scary once she got angry.

Torin smiled sweetly and said, "Why would I do that to the lovely Lieutenant Kang. Don’t you know that out of all the officers at our base, I’m only scared of you and General Lim. And of course, our Field Marshall, so absolutely, I only say nice words behind your back?! Right, soldier? Anyway, you are now dismissed, go back to your office, soldier."

The soldier only nodded at Torin’s words and quickly said, "Yes, Sir. Following your order, Sir."

Then, he imdiately ran from the two Lieutenants.

"Oh, I’m leaving too. Zach needs

to prepare certain things for tomorrow’s tests, so I’ll go first, Lieutenant Kang." Torin bid his farewell to Cielo before he got interrogated by the latter.
