Chapter 154: His Possession

"How’s your work?" a familiar scent assaulted Thea’s nostrils as the room’s door closed.

It was Leon’s tobacco scent stuck all over his body. Oh, how she hated that sll; for years already.

"Rember? You must behave, otherwise, I’ll throw you back to another country. By the way, your childhood sweetheart has finally moved on. I see that he has a new girl..." he spoke nonchalantly.

Thea heard him chuckle, as he added, "That man, indeed, we both have the sa taste when it cos to won. But that pretty woman he has right now is soone hard for

to get. Ah, too bad, she’s so beautiful and alluring."

Thea could see the evil grin plastered on Leon’s face in the mirror.

All these years, she wanted to kill the devil, but she couldn’t do that. She was afraid to kill soone, but even more, she was afraid to die.

"Why don’t you get her instead and let

go?" asked Thea, intentionally giving Leon the idea, as she removed her make-up and looked at her reflection from the vanity mirror. Though she was older than Keira Chan, she remained young-looking.

She was Leon’s woman. She beca one, out of her will.

Thea looked at the vanity mirror as if the pictures of her past were flashing in it.

She was three years younger than Zach. She was doing a part-ti job as a dancer in a club, endorsed by her classmate to sustain her study and living. And all of that without Zach’s knowing.

At that ti, Leon had beco her loyal admirer and custor, who was giving her lots of tip and gifts, just for talking to him at his table.

He beca her regular custor, but later on, he suggested her to beco his woman. She refused, clearly stating that she was only entertaining him as a part of her work and that she was soon going to get married.

At that ti, she did not know that Leon had already done a profile check on her. Of course, including the people around her and particularly, the man that she loved - Zach.

Leon was threatening her, but she ignored him at the beginning, thinking that he couldn’t realize his threats. Besides, her man was a soldier, so she was confident.

But she was so wrong.

In the forthcoming days, Zach got into various accidents: he was robbed and badly hurt, almost got into a hit and run and the worst part was that he had got stabbed with a knife by soone when he was on his way to pick her up at school: they never found the attacker back then.

Only afterward, she found out that all of those accidents were Leon’s doing. She could rember Leon’s evil laugh when he said that Zach was just lucky to be a good fighter. But soon, he would kill Zach if she still rejected him.

Leon gave her two options: be with him, and he would let Zach live. Or he would kill Zach, and she would still end up being with him...

It was hard for her. She tried to tell everything to Zach, but in the end, she chose to remain quiet. Zach had enough on his plate at that ti, struggling as a soldier and trying to sustain himself and his family.

So, instead, she tried to go to the police for help, but to her horror, Leon had a wide net of connections beyond sothing she could imagine.

Her reminiscing was interrupted by Leon’s loud laughter from her back.

"Replace you with her? Hmm, I would prefer to add her, but I will never replace you, my dear. You know that you are my only true love. That woman, Keira Chan, hmm, she is not soone I can easily get like you. That one will cost

a fortune and my life. So, I will stick with you instead," Leon stated as he walked towards her.

"What do you an?!" Thea asked irritably.

"She is untouchable A very precious gem what is more. Unlike you, who is just a simple stone, I have picked up from the mud. And look at you now, how I made you shine like a precious stone?! You are my most precious gem," Leon murmured in her ear.

Thea wanted to vomit on his face but managed to smile in the mirror where Leon’s reflection was staring at her, full of admiration.

She couldn’t describe her relationship with Leon as sothing intimate. Leon was sexually incapable of doing anything to her. It was more of a possession. Leon considered her as his possession.

.................

Keira’s eyes widened at the contents she was reading on her the tablet, then she looked at the docunts that John had put on the table.

"Miss Keira, I strongly believe that General Lim should know about this," suggested John, who was in front of her, as she was checking all the information he had found.

"What is this? So this is the sacrifice she was talking about?" Keira whispered as she bit her lip.

"I believe so. I an, that man was an influential person back then," added John.

Keira massaged her temples and dismissed John.

She looked at her mobile phone. Zach’s mobile phone couldn’t be reached tonight, so she presud he was on a mission with Ryu.

For so reason, she felt pity for Thea. But of course, it didn’t an that she would be a martyr like what Thea claid to be.

She was different- she was capable before and even until now, unlike Thea. And that was her biggest advantage.

"What if I were in Thea’s shoes at that ti? Would have I done the sa? Would have I made the sa decision as hers? The sa sacrifice like hers?" she unconsciously questioned herself, thinking of what would she have done if she was not from a powerful family.

But Keira was different. She strongly believed that this strong will of hers was already in her character. Even without the powerful family, she would still be the exact Keira Chan she was right now. The sa way of thinking would remain.

So people say, "Life is about chances." But for Keira, life would always be about choices!!!

That was Thea’s choice.

Keira’s choice would be different. She would have never pushed Zach out of the picture if she was Thea. She would have told Zach about it, and together, they would have solved whatever problems ca their way.

If Thea couldn’t tell everything herself, then she would. She must tell Zach about Thea.

’Will he be swayed?’ Keira was dying to find out the answer to her question.

Then she sighed and murmured, "If he gets swayed by that wind, I will make sure that the wind still blows towards !"

Keira’s face crumpled as she stood and walked towards her bedroom.

"Why do I feel like I sound more of a villain like this!" she hissed, scratching her head.
