As the flas subsided and the humans confird that the army of the enemy had been entirely wiped out, they were struck by the rich aroma wafting from the remains of the Antimatter Legion. Recognizing the imnse potential of the flas that could incinerate even these entities, a reconnaissance team was promptly dispatched to investigate the source of this miraculous phenonon.
Although the investigation originally had nothing to do with Elysia, she took it upon herself to lead a team to uncover the truth behind the fire.
However, as she ventured deeper into the battlefield, her expression grew increasingly serious. The enticing aroma emanating from the cooked remains of the Antimatter Legion seed to beckon her irresistibly, like a whisper from an abyss, stirring a strange desire to take a bite.
Yet her instincts scread otherwise—this was not food to be consud. It was dangerous, potentially lethal.
The elite soldiers accompanying her were also affected. As they approached the roasted remains, they couldn't help but gulp nervously, the tantalizing scent testing their discipline. However, being rigorously trained professionals, they managed to resist the allure.
Elysia drew closer to one of the perfectly roasted Voidranger, cautiously poking at its surface. To her surprise, the texture was exactly like that of a perfectly cooked piece of at—succulent and tender.
What shocked her even more was the faint golden glow radiating from the remains, as if the strange phenonon had infused the "dish" with an otherworldly, almost divine, allure. It was as if the bizarre transformation had turned these soldiers into so grotesque, forbidden delicacy.
As the fire warped the Voidrangers into sothing unrecognizable, turning them into grotesque yet oddly appetizing entities, Elysia couldn't shake the feeling that she was staring at a force far beyond human comprehension: these beings were no longer the Voidrangers they had once been—sothing had fundantally reshaped their very existence.
She knew full well that humanity, especially this Earthlings, could never afford to offend whoever possessed such power.
While she pondered over the nature of this mysterious force, a voice interrupted her train of thought, making her freeze in place.
"Hey! Pink-haired girl over there! What are you planning to do with my cooking?"
The voice snapped her out of her musings, and the soldiers accompanying her imdiately raised their weapons, aiming toward the source of the sound. Elysia, however, quickly raised her hand, signaling them to lower their guard. The soldiers obeyed, but their alertness remained on high as their eyes darted toward the direction of the voice.
What they saw next left them speechless. The Voidrangers that had been surrounding them began to disappear, fading into nothingness, as a strange, monstrous figure appeared beside Elysia
It was none other than Pei Guang, clad in the best set of armor he currently owned—the mysterious and life-infused Abundant Ebon Deer set. The sight of him, with his deer-like helt, bone shield in one hand, and wooden sword in the other, left the humans utterly dumbfounded.
As he approached, he began to size up Elysia with an almost casual curiosity. The sight of this bizarre figure made the soldiers' hearts race, but Elysia, keeping her signature smile, showed no outward reaction.
Pei Guang, on the other hand, seed genuinely intrigued. He looked her up and down, nodding appreciatively. "Not bad, not bad at all. I didn't expect such a high-quality beauty to show up on my turf. Alright, I'll let this slide—consider it a gift in honor of this planet's impressive quality."
Elysia, with her flawless appearance and perfectly proportioned figure, seed to fit right into Pei Guang's aesthetic preferences. Her ethereal charm, combined with an air of approachable warmth, made her incredibly captivating. Pei Guang even noticed a unique scent that seed to linger around her—sothing distinctively hers.
Still, Pei Guang was a straightforward man. He didn't dwell on poetic descriptions of beauty. To him, she simply looked good, and that was that.
What stood out even more to him was a peculiar sense of familiarity emanating from Elysia. It reminded him of March 7th—not because they had similar personalities, but because both shared a subtle, asymtrical elegance that was oddly srizing.
And because both had pink hair.
"Do all girls like dressing asymtrically?" Pei Guang asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity.
Elysia blinked her large, expressive eyes and replied with a playful smile. "Does it not look good?"
While Pei Guang observed her, Elysia was doing the sa to him. She noticed the vibrant life force radiating from his peculiar armor and the layers of complexity in his gaze. There was a mix of crude thoughts and sincere appreciation, as though he viewed her both as an object of beauty and as soone worth respecting. The contradiction fascinated her.
"It looks great," Pei Guang finally said. "In fact, it's incredibly eye-catching. Among all the won I've t, your looks, aura, and figure are among the best. You might even be able to compete with our March 7th! Especially your eyes—so pure it's almost unreal. If this were a ga, you'd be the quintessential enchanting fairy."
Pei Guang paused, then added, "Well, it seems Asta's timing wasn't bad after all. If I'd been late, I might've lost such a lovely potential adjutant. So, what do you say? Want to be my adjutant? No pressure. If you refuse… well, I could always resort to a little friendly coercion."
His words left Elysia montarily speechless, but her smile never wavered as she continued to study this peculiar man who had so casually turned a battlefield into his personal stage.
The determination of players is an enigma. Sotis their willpower is unshakable, standing firm against any challenge, while other tis, it can turn on a di, aligning with the opposition. However, at this mont, his restraint and sense of morality were at their peak. As for when he might let his limits slip—that was anyone's guess.
Pei Guang was very pleased with Elysia. A beautiful NPC on his territory? He decided she was perfect to beco his adjutant.
What? Whether she could handle governance or understand command tactics? That didn't matter. Any player who's ever played gas with adjutant chanics knew one thing: it's all about appearances. If they're pleasing to the eye, that's enough.
anwhile, Elysia felt slightly overwheld. She understood every word he was saying—his complints, his apparent fondness for her—but sohow, when strung together, it all felt… odd?
Nevertheless, she maintained her signature warm smile, the one she gave to everyone. "Hello, and thank you for your complints. My na is Elysia. How should I address you?"
Her tone wasn't formal; instead, it carried a casual and approachable friendliness.
Pei Guang responded casually, "Well, I guess I should introduce myself too. I'm Pei Guang. You can call whatever you like. I'm not from this planet—I'm an explorer from the Astral Express. This entire solar system, including all its planets, was a reward I got for clearing a mission. You, the people here, and this entire planet? They're all mine now. I'm here to claim my property and maybe set up sothing fun on my planet to host my friends when they visit."
Elysia tilted her head slightly, her smile unwavering. "So, you're saying… I'm part of your property?"
"Yep," Pei Guang nodded matter-of-factly. "This entire system belongs to . Anything within it is mine. Oh, and hey! You guys over there—don't touch my cooking! Those dishes are mine too. What? You don't believe ?"
"It's a bit hard to believe," Elysia admitted with a laugh. "Do you have any way to prove it? Sothing that shows this world really belongs to you?"
Pei Guang rubbed his chin in thought. "Now that you ntion it, I do. Wait a mont… Hmm, but I'm not sure you'll be able to feel it."
With that, Pei Guang pulled out his trusty trash can—the durable Preservation Trash Can designed to enhance the structural integrity of buildings.
Proving his ownership was simple. He just needed to plant this trash can into the ground: once integrated, it would beco part of the Earth, enhancing the planet's resilience.
In essence, this five-star trash can could function as a territory marker.
However, Pei Guang wasn't overly concerned about whether others could sense its effects. To him, they were just NPCs. If they didn't believe him, he'd simply send them packing—it wouldn't make much difference.
As soon as he embedded the trash can into the ground, Elysia imdiately sensed a change. Though she might appear human, like Pei Guang, her essence wasn't entirely so. This allowed her to perceive things beyond ordinary human comprehension.
She could feel the Earth itself growing sturdier. Monts earlier, she'd been worried about the threats beyond the sky—forces capable of obliterating the planet. But now, she sensed that those external forces could no longer destroy it outright.
However, while the planet itself was safeguarded, the surface civilization remained vulnerable to destruction.
anwhile, as Pei Guang placed the Preservation Trash Can, elsewhere on Earth, geological surveyors noticed sothing unusual. The land, once soft enough for their tunneling machines to easily break through, had beco almost impenetrable; their machines could now barely scratch the surface.
At the sa ti, the corrosive energies of the Fragntum began to retreat. This wasn't purely the result of the Preservation energy—it was also influenced by Pei Guang's personal power.
Pei Guang, hearing a ping, glanced at the system notification that just appeared. The planet was now officially part of his personal territory. As for the lives on it? Honestly, he didn't particularly care. But if these people were willing to trust him, he wouldn't mind leading them to a life of abundance. Conquering the galaxy was far too troubleso, but ensuring nothing ssed up his turf? That he could manage.
