[Level Up!] ×2

[You have reached Level 239.]

[You have completed the recomnded reading quota for the Unique-grade Library.]

[You et the entry requirents for the Legendary-grade Library.]

[You may now enter the Legendary-grade Library.]

Seong saw the level-up notifications alongside the ssage stating he could now enter the next library tier, and nodded in satisfaction.

These books really delivered phenonal efficiency.

Was Babaros perhaps the god of books?

Seong thought so, pleased with the recomndations as he stepped outside.

Sure enough, Babaros greeted him with a cheerful wave.

Having cleared three Unique-grade books and gained two levels in the process,

it was only natural that continuing at this pace would accelerate his leveling.

As Seong mulled over that—

“Welco back! That was faster than I expected!?”

“Hm? Oh, yes. I finished a bit early.”

“Wow... I took two whole days for that one. You really are amazing.”

“Oh, really?”

The book Seong had just cleared involved annihilating waves of swarming monsters.

Even two days seed fast for that.

He thought Babaros was stronger than expected.

Well, reaching the Unique-grade library probably did require real strength.

Just as he was thinking that—

“I do have an Almighty-class profession after all, but Seong-nim... you're truly sothing else.”

“...?”

No hesitation whatsoever.

Didn’t most players keep that kind of thing private?

But Babaros seed too pure for secrecy.

Seong figured that made sense.

After all, being able to craft Legendary-tier skills probably ant he wasn’t just a Legendary class.

An Almighty-class profession definitely fit better.

Quite the powerhouse.

Seong bumped Babaros up a notch in his ntal rankings.

And sohow, maybe because of that openness,

Seong found himself sharing in return:

“I’m also in the Almighty class.”

It felt odd to keep it to himself when the other person had shared so openly.

And Babaros lit up instantly.

“Ah! I thought so. I knew it! Amazing as expected!”

“Thank you. In that case, how about we go together tomorrow? Ti's a bit tight for today.”

Now that Seong could access the Legendary Library too, it made sense.

At those words, Babaros brightened even more.

He hadn’t expected Seong to say yes this quickly.

He’d thought he’d want to finish more Unique books first.

Ecstatic, he nodded hard.

“Oh, yes! By the way, my class is Lord of Knowledge. It used to be a dark mage class, but I changed jobs—now it’s more of a general mage path.”

He even explained his class in detail.

A mage-type lord class.

To say it out loud like that so easily...

Seong nodded back, responding in kind.

“I’m an Overlord class. Still within the dark mage family, but I can use a sword pretty well too.”

“Ohh!? So you're a hybrid class!”

“Yeah, you could say that. My main focus is summoning.”

“Ah, for it's spellcasting through books!”

A perfect fit.

Seong thought Babaros’s class suited him very well.

Lord of Knowledge—a lord-type profession.

It was probably quite powerful.

At least he wouldn't have to worry about being held back.

After a bit more chatting, Seong logged out.

Only after he’d logged out did Babaros begin closing up as well.

“He’s from the dark mage line... so he’ll probably do amazing in the next book too.”

Normally, by this point, anyone would realize that Seong was the Demon King.

But Babaros wasn’t really into dia.

He didn’t know the Demon King was a rising star in the Rapid Guild.

He didn’t even know who the Demon King was or why he was famous.

He hadn’t seen the videos, didn’t watch Tube or even TV.

He played Eternal World just so he could freely read books.

And he made money doing it too.

Getting paid to read books—what could be better?

Demon King or not—

Babaros was simply excited for tomorrow.

“Hehe, we’ll clear it tomorrow for sure! I wonder if the story continues?”

He grinned, thinking only of the book they’d read tomorrow.

To soone obsessed with books like him,

the only thing that mattered was being able to read.

Smiling like that, Babaros logged out—

already looking forward to the next day.

anwhile, after logging out, Seong reflected.

"Lord of Knowledge," huh.

A mage-type lord class.

Recently, he’d t another lord-class user, Kyou, who had a class called Storm Lord,

also sothing of a mage—or maybe a shaman-type?

That had been interesting too.

Now he wondered—

What would the Lord of Knowledge be like?

And then he thought:

If this were any other lord-class player, he’d probably recomnd them to the Rapid Guild.

But—

‘Babaros... might not be the right fit?’

The guy really didn’t care about anything except books.

Pushing the guild on him might just be awkward.

Seong mused for a bit, then decided it was better to talk to Babaros about it directly

rather than going straight to An Yoo-jin.

Just as he reached for his phone—

“Hm?”

He had a missed call.

Who was it?

When he checked—

Speak of the devil. It was none other than An Yoo-jin.

What did she want?

If it were urgent, she would’ve used the in-ga ssenger.

So it probably wasn’t anything pressing.

Still curious, Seong called back.

The phone didn’t even ring long before it connected.

—“Ah, Seong. You just logged out?”

“Yeah, just now.”

—“It’s nothing major. Just easier to call.”

“Got it.”

—“So... you still haven’t visited the guild base, have you?”

The guild base?

Co to think of it, he’d heard there was one.

But no, he hadn’t been there.

“Huh? Oh, yeah. I haven’t.”

—“I wanted to give you sothing we recently [N O V E L I G H T] acquired. And I happen to be out right now, so I figured I’d call.”

She was out? That busy woman?

Seong recalled the last fortune-telling incident and asked:

“Oh? You finally found so people?”

—“Well, I couldn’t just ignore it.”

“You had to. You can’t handle everything alone.”

—“Exactly. I’m still overseeing the important stuff, but I’ve loosened up a bit. I even hired a few dia people. Luckily, Geon-dong turned out to be good, so I didn’t need to hire too many.”

“Oh? So that guy’s doing well, huh.”

Seong smiled as he heard Yoo-jin praise his friend.

Then, from the other end of the line, ca a familiar voice—

—“Hey! What do you an ‘doing well’!? I’m great at this!”

“Huh?”

—“Yeah, we’re together right now. He’s been working hard, so I’m treating him to dinner.”

“Sounds nice.”

—“We’re also planning a dinner with the execs next week. If you’re free, join us.”

Ever since that visit to the fortune teller, she really had started to relax more.

She used to strictly separate personal and professional matters,

and it had been wearing her down.

But lately, she seed to be opening up.

Seong had even heard from her sister that the guild mbers were happy with the change.

A guild dinner, huh.

‘I should probably go.’

Seong was basically one of the guild’s execs at this point.

And—

‘They say dinners are essential for professional life.’

For Seong, the guild was his workplace.

So if there was a dinner, he should attend.

Besides—

‘It sounds fun.’

Despite the bad reputation so gatherings had,

Seong had always been a little curious about them.

He’d assud he’d never get to experience that kind of thing since he earned money just from gaming.

But this was a good chance to et people.

So he spoke up.

“Yeah, sure. I’ll join.”

—“Great. I’ll count you in.”

“Thanks for the heads-up.”

—“What are you talking about? You’re basically an exec. Of course you’re coming.”

She laughed warmly.

And then—

—“Oh, can I co too, noona?”

—“Well, Mr. Geon-dong, you’re pretty much our dia exec at this point.”

Hearing Geon-dong’s voice made Seong chuckle.

And with that, the call ended.

Shortly afterward, a post went up on the guild board hosted by Eternal World Hands.

It announced a dinner next week in Korea for guild executives.

It also said they’d allow a few regular mbers to attend if they applied.

Seong smirked as he read it.

How many people would actually show up?

‘Probably not too many?’

The guild wasn't limited to just East Asian servers.

It had players from all over the world.

But who would travel to Korea just for a dinner?

He figured not many would.

Except—

He hadn’t noticed the last line of the post.

[P.S. – The Demon King will also attend.]

That one line...

sparked a massive chain reaction.

8.

The Rapid Guild Board on Eternal World Hands.

The post about the sudden executive dinner caused an uproar.

It had said a few regular mbers might be selected to join—

And the second that line was read, ssages began flooding in.

[Reaper: I want to co too!!!]

[Joseon's Best Sword, Kim Che-geon: I must attend!!!]

[Longfeng: too! Backup team should be there in full!]

[Elzahar: Oho~ Of course I’m coming!]

[Hwa-Wol: I’m absolutely attending. Don’t leave out.]

[Embris: Our whole party’s coming!!!]

[Usagi: Already booked my flight to Korea!]

[nma: ?? Already got my ticket. You're late lol;]

[Chako: lol I booked mine too.]

[Kyou: Um... how do you book a flight? I don’t know how to...]

[Mayrin: Ohh, let your big sis teach you! I’ve got mine.]

[Kurosawa Ren: What a ruckus. Of course, I’ll be there.]

Not only the backup team—

but even general guild mbers were scrambling to join.

When the flood of applications hit the board,

An Yoo-jin scratched her head.

It was overwhelming.

But in the end, she decided—

any mber above a certain level could attend.

If she opened it to everyone, it’d never end.

So now, the dinner next week was shaping up to be a massive event.

Trying to brush it off as just a big group dinner,

she sighed and turned away—only to be asked by a familiar voice:

“...Unni? I can co too, right?”

It was her younger sister, eyes sparkling with excitent, not ssaging but asking in person.

“You can. You can, but... I can see right through you.”

“W-What do you an?”

Caught off guard, Yoo-bin stamred.

Yoo-jin just shook her head, but let it go.

Her sister could take care of herself.

As she walked away—

Yoo-bin clenched her fist in triumph, out of everyone’s sight.

She couldn’t wait for the dinner next week.

She was ecstatic.
