“NOOO!!”
Li Shen watched as the origin leaf hovering above his hand faded away.
“What? Just why is this happening?”
Li Shen asked in frustration and anguish.
He had reached the Dragon Island and like Jun he presented the leaf but instead of being allowed entry the leaf just suddenly combusted into flas.
Li Shen could only watch as it turn to ash and slowly fading away.
To say he wasn’t utterly confused would be an understatent.
Looking up from the missing origin leaf he set his eyes on the Dragon Palace. Li Shen gritted his teeth, all the hopes of cultivating were now dashed. All the joy he once felt had turned into extre sorrow.
“No, I can’t miss this opportunity. I don’t know what’s happening, but I’m entering that Palace even if I’m not welcod.”
Li Shen refused to admit this was the end. His eyes harden before he forcefully took a step forward. Imdiately, the monstrous power around the Island seed to awaken at his intrusion.
He felt it but his steps didn't falter. After he reached the pillars that made him look a regular size he reached out his hand towards the power.
His hand slipped past the two pillars but not even a second later an intangible force wrapped around his hand pushed it out.
Li Shen’s arm was knocked over his head and he was forced to take three steps back. He was shocked by the power, but more so because of how different it was from the other Islands.
The others Islands felt like it would turn his body into minced at, but this was only forcing him out.
“Is this... a part of the test?”
Li Shen ca to this conclusion and his fist clenched right after. He stepped forward again and fully passed through the two pillars with his body.
He prepared for the incoming force, but even so, he was still surprised by how strong it was right off the bat.
Li Shen stood his ground before he lifted his foot and took another step. Like he suspected the further in he got the stronger the force would be.
‘This is definitely a test.’
Li Shen thought to himself.
‘But is this a test for my Physical strength, or can I make it to the Palace by any ans?’
Li Shen realized he could still use his cultivation so he figure it was the latter.
A few thoughts popped into his head, as he took another step forward. He didn’t pause and only continued forwards. The force pushing him back was getting stronger and stronger with each step.
From the two Pillars to his destination he figure was the main Palace, which was just over three thousand ters. It would take a normal person about forty minutes to walk it, but with his current size that was around fifteen minutes at max.
However, despite it only being a fifteen-minute walk from him and he could practically see it, it felt like there was a massive gorge separating him and those large golden double doors.
Li Shen had only taken fifty steps but his foot suddenly slip back, and he had to quickly catch himself.
“Only fifty steps?”
Li Shen had wanted to walk as far as his natural physical strength could bring him, however, despite his confidence in his physique he had only managed to take a asly fifty steps of thousands.
This was a major blow to him, but then again this was just showing how difficult this was going to be.
“I won’t fail, I’m going to enter and find whatever supply source of Unique Qi is in there and absorb it. That’s the only way I can improve my cultivation during this ti. I have to enter and there’s no other choice for .”
Li Shen’s resolve increased as he voiced his desire, there was no going back, only forwards.
He took a step and suddenly, an oppressive aura bursts from his sixty-ter fra into the surroundings. If one looked closely one would see two colors of aura around his body.
One was pure gold that gave off the feeling of prideful arrogance. Under its majesty one would be forced to feel utterly inferior, being reduced to insects before it.
The second was a starry black light. In contrast to the golden light, it seed more docile and non-combative, but it simultaneously gave off a feeling that was both mysterious and unfathomable. Its danger was not expressive but was hidden behind a veil of the unknown which makes it all the more terrifying.
The force Li Shen was feeling pushing him significantly reduced and he freely walk forwards as if he was taking a stroll.
The further he walked the more prominent the light from his two physiques beco. They worked overti to give him the strength to withstand the constant pressure.
However, even they were soon forced to cave under the force of the Dragon Island. Even though Li Shen managed to cross the halfway mark, he reached a point where he was frozen in his steps.
His entire figure was encapsulated in a golden and starry black light, which was pulsating with monstrous power as they mix and match creating a dazzling scenery.
“ARGGGHH!!!”
Li Shen let out a furious roar as he lifted his foot to take a step but the force of the Dragon Island at this point was too much, it imdiately knocked him back three steps.
“Dammit!”
Li Shen's frustrations were heard in his voice as he cursed.
This force that was preventing him from moving forward was strange. As he walked he felt like he was stretching an absurdly strong rubber band.
The tension build up as he stretched it, and it accumulated until this point where he was stuck.
But through his physique auras, Li Shen could see that the main Palace was just right there a few hundred ters and he could enter. But as he took a step forward the tension of the rubber band-like force was too overwhelming.
“No!”
Li Shen yelled at himself.
“I’m going to cultivate. I’m going to feed that gluttonous bastard green vegetables while I scarf down at!!”
Li Shen took a step forward while saying that, and it seems those words gave him strength as he not only took one step but two more in quick succession.
anwhile the Ti Seed in his dantian: “…”
“I’m going to cultivate, I’m going to cultivate, I’m going to eat at, I’m going to eat at.”
Li Shen’s eyes were extrely bloodshot as he repeated his desire like a mantra. However, towards the end, it beca rather strange. If a stranger had walked past and overheard him while he was like this, they would have an entirely different opinion of what was inside that Palace.
‘What’s with this young man? Aren’t their brothels for such needs?’
Of course that stranger would then shake his or her head before leaving but would have left with Li Shen’s strange mantra stuck in his head.
“I’m going to eat at!”
However...
BANG!
Li Shen’s giant figure landed knee-first onto the ground.
His face was pale and his chest was heaving up and down in an exaggerated manner. It looked like he was about to collapse at any mont, but he had no intention of giving up here. He was only a few steps away from the hundred-ter mark to the main Palace.
His eyes flickered and summoning the last of his strength his body grew to double its size around one hundred and thirty ters. He wanted to grow stronger but sothing strange suddenly happened the pressure increased tenfold.
Li Shen's eyes widen and quickly stopped his growth.
However, with his current size, the gap between the hundred-ter mark and him only beca one step which he imdiately took.
The rubber band-like force was stretched and the tension that landed on Li Shen’s shoulders from that step caused even his bones to grind against each other. The sound was grating to the ears, and it felt like if he didn’t take a step back to reduce the pressure his entire body would be crushed.
But Li Shen didn’t move despite the mountain toppling pressure forcing him back, after all, this was his goal all along.
