"I have sothing to ask you," Chen Zheng said, glancing at him indifferently. "If I’m not mistaken, you’ve collected a great many bones over the past century. Where are they now?"

"Go ahead and ask," Teluos sneered. "You will never understand where our bones are. Without them, this place wouldn’t exist, and you would be forced to leave."

"Guess my ass!"

Chen Zheng’s mouth twitched. He raised his hand and struck with his sword—the unnad blade sweeping across Teluos’s neck.

Teluos’s eyes widened as he stood frozen in place.

The genius disciple ranked second on the Heavenly List, surpassed only by Zhuo Ming, had finally fallen.

Their choice between two factions had led them down two completely different paths. After so many years, the hatred between them had beco deep-rooted, with no possibility of reconciliation.

Teluos’s conviction, even in death, was that he had chosen the correct path. If given another chance, he would kill Zhuo Ming without hesitation and exterminate the Night Watchers to pave the way for the fiends.

They believed that if they submitted, the vicious ghosts would not harm them. But in reality, the mont this Sharp Ghost landed, they faced a massacre. This was why the first Night Watchers were ford. All talk of submission was futile; only resistance offered any hope of survival.

Chen Zheng let out a slow sigh, looking at Teluos on the ground. He slowly bent over and gently touched Teluos’s eyelids with his finger, closing his eyes.

Although Teluos had made the wrong decision, he was still one of the most powerful experts of the human race and a worthy adversary who deserved respect.

"I’ll deal with him. You take on the Red Ghost," Chen Zheng said. "We need one of them alive."

One of the two had to be captured. The Red Ghost had collected a large number of bones that they needed to retrieve. Currently, Liu Shiqi and Chen Xiao were still without suitable bones, but he was confident the Red Ghost could help them find so. With the help of these bones, their rate of progress would accelerate greatly. Chen Zheng felt that Liu Shiqi, in particular, was no less skilled in martial arts than he was.

Then, Chen Zheng looked up at the sky. Watching the approaching light, he quickly moved towards it.

Next to an underground gambling den in the capital, Yanjing, Wu Xiao stood wearing a baseball cap and a hoodie. He held a cigarette in one hand and his phone in the other, alternately glancing at the nearby bar and his phone screen.

"What are you waiting for?"

He turned and saw a man wearing a mask. "You..." Wu Xiao’s face paled as he instinctively leapt backward.

He then noticed that besides the masked man, there was also a woman present. She wore a cheongsam that outlined her exquisite figure. In the dim light, she exuded a mysterious charm, and Wu Xiao found it difficult to look away.

He’d seen plenty of beautiful won before, like Liu Shiqi, Qiu Yu, and Jiang Wanyan, who were all top-tier beauties. But to him, Liu Shiqi was too tomboyish, Qiu Yu was too cold, and Jiang Wanyan was too hyperactive. This woman, however, possessed a unique feminine gentleness that captivated him instantly, making it impossible to look away.

"I’ll be very unhappy if you keep staring at my granddaughter like that. I am Yan San, and this is my granddaughter, Yan Ruxue."

Wu Xiao looked at Yan San and couldn’t help but force a wry smile.

Yan San was a mysterious figure in both the high society of Yanjing and its criminal underworld. Moreover, Wu Xiao hadn’t been around Chen Zheng’s group recently, so he had no idea that Yan San worked for Professor X. In fact, he didn’t even know who Professor X was.

But the na "Yan San" alone was enough to make his heart race.

"You’re the one who called , aren’t you? Why did you want to see ?" Wu Xiao asked slowly.

Yan San rubbed the bridge of his nose. "One hires an assassin for one reason, of course: to kill."

Wu Xiao frowned slightly. "I’m no longer an assassin. I’ve washed my hands of that life. Find soone else."

"Don’t be so quick to refuse. If I’m not mistaken, you’ll soon be joining Squad 6654, and Chen Zheng’s squad at that."

Wu Xiao’s eyes narrowed again.

He let out a sudden laugh. "And you think I, as a Night Watcher, would still work as an assassin?"

Yan San smiled. "I believe there’s nothing that can’t be done in this world. If sothing seems impossible, it’s only because the price isn’t right."

"Hmm?" Wu Xiao lifted his head, his eyes locking onto Yan San. His voice was laced with urgency. "Do you know where my enemy is?"

"Of course. And there’s sothing else you should know. The day of the Sharp Ghost invasion is approaching. I’m afraid this peace won’t last much longer," Yan San said calmly. "You’ll soon be in a full-scale war against them. Amidst that chaos, what chance will you have for revenge?"

Wu Xiao exhaled slowly, his gaze fixed on Yan San. "Tell . Who do you want to kill?"

Yan San, still wearing his mask, had a devilish smile on his face. "This person is currently in the East Sea, from Cri City. I’m not clear on his family na, but you must know his nickna—Scarface."

「...」

Atop a mountain in Cri City, a shower of golden light rained down. Chen Zheng lay in a deep crater for a mont before pushing himself to his feet.

This Red Ghost was certainly clever, self-destructing on contact.

Chen Zheng rubbed his nose and walked towards the center of the explosion.

When a Sharp Ghost self-destructs, it always leaves sothing behind.

Chen Zheng quickly walked forward and picked up a long saber that resembled a blue pillar. This blue pillar saber was not sothing an ordinary person could wield; its quality was far superior to Chen Zheng’s own weapon. Most of these divine weapons had been forged by Zhuo Ming from the remains of the First Generation Golden Fiend he had slain. His own Red Rainbow Sword, along with several other famous weapons, was crafted from this very material. The blue longsword Liu Shiqi currently used was the weapon of one such Red Ghost.

Chen Zheng put the saber away and found several pieces of blue tal in the crater. They all contained a new type of energy, similar to True Qi. This material could be used to cultivate True Qi or be applied to new combat suits.

Just as Chen Zheng was collecting these items, a sudden feeling of being watched startled him. He snapped his head around and saw a monk nearby, holding Buddha beads with one hand placed on his chest, his gaze fixed on Chen Zheng.

Chen Zheng stared at the man, his expression a mixture of shock and disbelief. He hadn’t sensed the monk’s presence at all.

The monk looked utterly ordinary, simply sitting on the road at the foot of the mountain, staring at him.

He must have seen sothing, Chen Zheng thought, certain this man was no ordinary person.
