By now, the banquet was entering its final stage, and the guests began making their way to the dining room.

Chen Zheng finally relaxed. So far, everything had gone smoothly.

Li Dali and Wang Rui had already run off to change, their duties as part of the bridal party almost over.

"But he’d have to get a girlfriend first!" Liu Shiqi complained from the side.

"Isn’t that easy?" Gu Xiaobai said with a proud smile.

"Oh?" Liu Shiqi pouted. "In any case, you’re just a scumbag!"

Gu Xiaobai chuckled. "Hmph, a scoundrel is never short on beautiful won. Didn’t you know? It’s the honest n who are always getting kept!"

Chen Zheng and the others wanted to retort but found themselves speechless.

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, Chen Zheng looked up at the sky.

He thought he saw a streak of light flash across the sky before the teor vanished over the horizon.

"Gu Xiaobai, you think our combat suits can leap high and glide at low altitudes. Do you think Professor X might develop a combat suit that lets people fly freely?" Chen Zheng asked.

Gu Xiaobai pouted. "Are you dreaming?"

Chen Zheng nodded. "Maybe I’m overthinking it."

After speaking, he turned to Liu Shiqi. "Shi Qi, you go take care of Wang Rui first. Gu Xiaobai and I will deal with those annoying pests. Damn it, they dare to make trouble at my brother’s wedding feast. I’m going to teach them a lesson!"

Qiu Yu and Liu Shiqi nodded in agreent.

Chen Zheng and Gu Xiaobai dashed out of the farmhouse. Following the trail of True Qi, they quickly arrived at a desolate area.

A team in Night’s Watch uniforms had surrounded a dozen or so people. Chen Zheng drew closer and saw that while the surrounded n were all top-notch experts, most were injured. Leading the Night’s Watch were Shen Qiu and Chen Xiao. Besides them, Chen Zheng also spotted the Number Two Night’s Watchman, a woman with a cold gaze!

"Are you responsible for the Su Zhe region?" Chen Zheng asked in surprise.

"Yes! I was assigned here when the Sharp Ghosts were able to land," she replied.

Chen Zheng scratched his head, hesitantly saying, "Oh, I don’t think I’ve heard your na yet."

"You can just call Number Two."

"That won’t do," Chen Zheng said with a pout.

The woman was montarily taken aback, then lowered her head. "Gu Jingjing."

Chen Zheng smiled slightly and stepped forward. "What happened here?"

"Most of our team was killed, and the rest of us were trapped. Thankfully, Su Zhe’s Night’s Watch Legion arrived in ti. If those guys had gotten into the civilian population, it would have been a disaster," Shen Qiu replied.

Chen Zheng rubbed his face and looked toward the captured n. He stroked his chin as he noticed the one with the most abundant True Qi was the bald man.

This burly monk clearly recognized Chen Zheng, but there was no fear in his eyes, only ferocity.

"Heh, courting death," Chen Zheng said, instantly guessing the man’s thoughts. "Looks like you’ve resigned yourself to dying here. So tell , who sent you? What exactly do you want?"

"You think I would tell you? Do you take for a coward who fears death? I would rather die in battle than kneel to beg for my life!"

"Stop dreaming. Around , whether you live or die is my decision," Chen Zheng said with a sneer.

"Fine! I admit I’ve lost! Brothers, in eighteen years, we’ll be good n again! I’m leaving now!" With that, he raised the knife in his hand, intending to slash his own throat.

Just then, his vision went black. Chen Zheng, who had been more than ten ters away a mont ago, instantly appeared before him. He reached out with both hands and caught the blade.

No matter how much force the monk used, the knife wouldn’t budge an inch.

"I told you. Your life and death depend entirely on my whim," Chen Zheng said with a smile.

The bald man’s face turned extrely ugly. He gritted his teeth, having seemingly made a decision. Just as he was about to bite off the tip of his tongue, Chen Zheng knocked him on the head with a single strike.

The bald man’s body slowly collapsed, unconscious.

"Tell everything. I have plenty of ti to drag this out. If you talk, you might have a chance to live. Otherwise, I’ll make you wish you could die. Who sent you?" Chen Zheng asked coldly.

Sweat beaded on the foreheads of the other captives. One of them finally broke. "It... It was Lord Teluos who sent us. He said we had to cause so kind of damage to the Night’s Watch."

"Teluos?" Chen Zheng stroked his chin, a cold light flashing in his eyes.

「In the capital, Yanjing.」

It was the noon break at Dazhi Company. In the administrative office, Lin Xiaoya was stretching, her perfect figure on full display.

Indeed, ever since Chen Zheng had introduced her to the Wang Family’s business, and with the help of Wang Jiaqi’s studio, Lin Xiaoya had quickly risen to the company’s senior managent.

And the man who had once helped her had vanished as if he had evaporated from the face of the earth. She often thought of him—the man who was always late for work, who joked around on the job, but who was incredibly reliable when it mattered. She felt, however, that they now existed on completely different levels.

It was now the lunch break. She looked around nervously.

RING! RING! RING!

The phone rang. Lin Xiaoya picked it up to hear a man’s voice, obviously disguised with a voice changer. "Have you made up your mind?"

"I... I can go. Just tell the location. I can do anything for you, but please, don’t hurt Chen Zheng!" Lin Xiaoya said into the phone.

"Very good," the voice replied. "Don’t try anything funny, and don’t let the Night’s Watch know."

Lin Xiaoya froze, then asked in confusion, "What’s the Night’s Watch?"

"You don’t need to worry about that. I’ll send you an address later!" With that, he hung up.

anwhile, the wedding feast officially began. Chen Zheng and Gu Xiaobai, each holding plates and cups, followed Li Dali as he went around toasting the guests.

Getting married is usually a very complicated affair, but Li Dali’s wedding was much simpler this ti. Gu Xiaobai handled most things, only needing to inform the families and arrange the hospitality.

Friends and relatives began to leave around 2 p.m., after which Chen Zheng’s group gathered together.

The other guests had left, but their table, having not yet eaten, was still chatting away.

"Damn, Li Dali really struck it rich coming to the City of Evil. He landed such a gorgeous wife!"

Li Dali smiled faintly, while Wang Rui blushed.

Wang Rui was clearly no ordinary woman. However, she had married Li Dali, whom Chen Zheng greatly respected. Combined with Li Dali’s current status, as long as Wang Rui wasn’t a fool, she wouldn’t stir up trouble.
