"Mom, Dad... this is honestly the hotel with the best anities here," Li Dali said, shaking his head bitterly. "Please, just bear with it for now." It was just a county town; comparing it to a major city was unfair from the start.
"What? You want us to ’bear with it’?" Wang Rui’s mother exploded. "Letting our daughter marry a cripple like you was already a huge blessing for you! We’re not even officially married, and you’re already telling us to endure? If things are like this now, how are we supposed to live after the wedding? Daughter, if this doesn’t work out, let’s just leave! I don’t think this guy is an honest man at all!"
As she spoke, she shot a aningful glance at her daughter.
Hearing the word "cripple," Li Dali instantly clenched his fists. But since she was his future mother-in-law, he couldn’t say anything.
"Li Dali, co with ," Wang Rui said coldly, turning and walking straight into her room.
The mont the door closed, Li Dali pulled her into an embrace. "You have no idea how much I’ve missed you!"
"Cut the act!" Wang Rui shoved him away, her impatience obvious. "Don’t you forget, you still owe a full hundred thousand for the betrothal gift. If I don’t see that money, don’t even think about touching !"
"You know perfectly well that my parents already look down on you and are extrely dissatisfied. And now you’re dragging your feet on the paynt! Tell the truth, what’s your ga? Are you planning to trick into marriage and then go back on your word?" Wang Rui demanded, her expression ugly.
"What are you talking about? Am I that kind of person?" Li Dali laughed out loud.
"Tomorrow. Once we’re married tomorrow, I’ll imdiately give the money to your parents!" He patted his chest as he spoke, looking suprely confident.
He was a smart man, after all. He hadn’t known Wang Rui for very long. They weren’t officially married yet and hadn’t even registered for the certificate. How could he just hand over the money? She had been very enthusiastic, and they had even lived together before. But since they weren’t truly a married couple yet, his guard remained up.
"What are you so worried about? You think I’m going to run off?" Wang Rui seed to see right through him, shaking her head sarcastically. "The way I see it... you don’t really care about . You’re just cheap!"
"What kind of thing is that to say? If I didn’t care about you, why would I have already given you that hundred thousand yuan?" Li Dali sighed heavily. "I really want to build a good life with you!"
"Absolutely not. If I don’t see the money today, I’m not marrying you!" Wang Rui sat down nearby, crossing her arms with an extrely stern expression.
"Wang Rui, aren’t you going too far?" Li Dali was finally getting angry too. "Everything is already prepared, and you’re just going to say you won’t marry , just like that? All you talk about is money! You won’t get married if you don’t see the money? Are you getting married or are you selling yourself?"

They found Wang Rui’s father lying on the ground, his face deathly pale. He was gasping for air, looking to be in a terrible state.
"Dad, what’s wrong?" Wang Rui cried, trembling with fear.
"My... my chest feels so tight... I can’t... can’t catch my breath!" her father struggled to say, his face turning a deathly, purplish hue. He looked to be in excruciating pain.
"This is bad! We need to get him to a hospital, now!" As a veteran, Li Dali remained remarkably calm in a crisis. He put their argunt aside and imdiately made a call.
