"Ms. Liu..."

"I can tell you with absolute certainty that this mine doesn’t need to be sold. There are many more jade veins beneath us, and their quality is very high!" Chen Zheng said with the utmost seriousness after a brief look around.

Upon hearing his confident words, the three of them were stunned.

"Excuse , sir, but how can you make such a claim? You haven’t done anything, you didn’t bring any professional equipnt to survey the area, you just stood here and took a glance," Liu Yuling snorted, speaking with clear discontent. "Do you have X-ray vision or sothing? Can you see what’s down there with just one look?"

In her eyes, this Chen Zheng was no different from those fortune-telling swindlers who put on a show, uttering a few words to try and gain their trust.

"Mr. Chen, we hired a highly professional exploration team that examined this place for nearly a year. Their conclusion was that the veins here have long been exhausted," Dai Wushuang said, his expression equally displeased. "There couldn’t possibly be any jade veins left, so I don’t know what evidence you have for such a confident statent."

This guy just shows up, takes a quick look, claims it’s a geomantically auspicious place, and is suddenly certain there are jade veins below. How is that any different from spouting nonsense? Besides, if it were that easy to find sothing, why on earth would I have bothered hiring a professional team to spend so much ti here? If word of this got out, wouldn’t it be a public embarrassnt?

Facing their blatant ridicule and skepticism, Chen Zheng didn’t take it to heart at all.

His claim that there were jade veins below was based on solid evidence. The fact that a large amount of Zhu Ling Grass grew here indicated that the area was nourished by a substantial amount of Spiritual Energy. Typically, for such a rare Spirit Grass to grow, the Spiritual Energy must have been accumulating for at least several hundred years. There was definitely a jade vein below.

"Mr. Chen, this is our steward, Dai Wushuang. He’s put a great deal of effort into searching for jade veins, so he ans no offense," Liu Yui explained with a smile, trying to smooth things over. She certainly didn’t want the two of them to argue.

"It’s fine. We’ll know for sure once we go down and take a look," Chen Zheng said, pointing toward an open space up ahead.

Below the hill was a large, empty area. It had once been a mining site, but now it was deserted and overgrown with weeds, giving it a desolate feel.

Liu Yui imdiately led them to the center of the site, where an artificially excavated entrance, pitch-black within, opened up at their feet. Inside, only a few dim lamps cast a faint, gloomy light, creating a sinister atmosphere.

"Mr. Chen, no one has been down there for a very long ti. Are you sure you want to go down now?" Liu Yui asked, unable to hide her concern.

"It’s fine," Chen Zheng nodded seriously. "The jade vein should be even deeper than we think. If we don’t go down, I’m afraid we’ll never find it."

"Alright, then I’ll go with you!" Liu Yui imdiately made up her mind.

"Miss, this..." Dai Wushuang began to protest, but Liu Yui cut him off with a wave of her hand.

"It’s not a problem. The exploration team went down there many tis without any issues, so there’s no need for to worry."

"Go and find a few workers to accompany Mr. Chen and . If anything happens, they can lend a hand."

Liu Yui had practically grown up at the mining site and was accustod to such things through constant exposure. Therefore, even as the young lady of the Liu Family, she wasn’t as delicate as one might imagine.

Feeling quite helpless, Dai Wushuang had no choice but to call over a few workers. He personally donned the necessary safety gear and led the way into the mine.

Zhao Feng had wanted to go along, but he received an order from Chen Zheng to stay outside and keep watch. Liu Yuling, naturally, was also left behind.

"Hey, you two aren’t conspiring to swindle my sister, are you?" Liu Yuling said, watching Zhao Feng with a cold snort. "And let make this clear: if you don’t find anything today, you won’t get paid a single cent, so don’t even think about gaining any other benefits!"

She was thoroughly convinced these two were no different from scam artists.

"Little girl, if our War God says there’s a jade vein down there, then he’s not wrong. Don’t start spouting nonsense when you’re about to benefit from his work," Zhao Feng’s voice was ice-cold.

He had no desire to get entangled with this brat, so he simply walked to the side, sat down, and ignored her completely.

"It’s too early to be so sure of yourself. If you don’t find anything, I won’t be the one who’s embarrassed," Liu Yuling huffed, sitting down nearby as well.

「anwhile.」

Chen Zheng and the others had quickly reached the deepest part of the mine. The light was extrely dim, and the tunnels seed to stretch into a bottomless darkness. Many man-made shafts surrounded them, showing signs of strenuous effort, but no jade veins had been discovered.

After leading everyone on a brief tour, Chen Zheng suddenly walked toward an abandoned tunnel. He approached a wall that had not been fully excavated.

Chen Zheng’s ears twitched. He used his flashlight to tap gently on the wall, his brow furrowing slightly. The reason was simple: the sound coming from inside was hollow, as if the space behind it had already been dug out.

Seeing this, Dai Wushuang beca visibly nervous. He couldn’t hide a flash of panic, terrified that Chen Zheng had discovered sothing.

As expected, Chen Zheng knocked on the wall again, then turned to Liu Yui. "Get soone here imdiately to blast this wall open. There’s more than ets the eye behind it."

Hearing this, Dai Wushuang objected firmly and without a mont’s hesitation, "Absolutely not..."

"Steward Dai, what are you doing?" Chen Zheng’s gaze sharpened, and he couldn’t help but frown.

Beside them, Liu Yui also sensed sothing was wrong. "Brother Dai, what’s gotten into you?" She seed surprised. Under normal circumstances, his reaction shouldn’t have been so vehent.

"Young Miss, this area is already quite fragile. If we use explosives, the entire mine could collapse!" Dai Wushuang said with earnest sincerity. "If that happens, we won’t be able to sell it for a good price anymore!"

Liu Yui said nothing. His words sounded very reasonable and didn’t raise any major doubts. She wasn’t a particularly sensitive person herself, and there was no need to be overly anxious...
