Chen Zheng was stunned. Is this damn system sohow related to Liu Qianqian’s family?! How am I supposed to choose? If I don’t help Liu Qianqian get an internship at Dahong Real Estate, my pants will start to give off a weird sll? It looks like I have a choice, but I really don’t!
Chen Zheng rubbed his temples. He had no other option. I choose option one, he thought.
Then, he looked up at Liu Qianqian. "How about this? I happen to have a friend at Dahong Real Estate. I can ask for you; they should be able to help."
Liu Qianqian’s eyes lit up. "Really?!" she exclaid. "Thank you so much, Brother Chen Zheng!"
"It’s no big deal," Chen Zheng said, taking out his phone and dialing Lisa’s number.
A mont later, the call connected.
"Chairman Chen!"
"I have a recent graduate nad Liu Qianqian who should have submitted a resu to the company. Could you take a look for ?" Chen Zheng said succinctly.
"Just a mont, I’ll check now!" After Lisa spoke, the sound of a keyboard clicking ca through the phone, and then she spoke again. "Chairman Chen!"
"I’ve found Liu Qianqian’s resu. She’s a recent graduate from Yun City University, majoring in architectural design. Her grades are quite good."
"Yes, that’s her. Tell her she’s hired."
"Understood, Chairman Chen!" Lisa imdiately asked, "What position should I assign her?"
Chen Zheng wasn’t sure about the specifics, so he said casually, "You can decide what’s appropriate. She’s a friend of mine."
"Understood. I will handle this matter properly."
After Chen Zheng hung up, Liu Qianqian looked at him expectantly. "Brother Chen Zheng, what did your friend say?"
Chen Zheng smiled and nodded. "It shouldn’t be a problem."
Liu Qianqian bead. "Really?! That’s fantastic! Thank you, Brother Chen Zheng! I’ll treat you to a al once I get my first internship paycheck!"
Chen Zheng smiled and nodded again. "In that case, I’ll look forward to it!"
"By the way," he added, "the chefs in the Dahong Real Estate cafeteria are pretty skilled. You could treat to a al there soti."
Liu Qianqian scratched her head. "Oh, I couldn’t impose like that!"
Just then, her phone suddenly rang. It was an unknown number.
She quickly answered, and a crisp, professional female voice ca from the other end.
"Hello, is this Ms. Liu Qianqian?"
"Yes, hello. May I ask who’s calling?"
"Hello, this is the HR departnt of Dahong Real Estate. We’ve just reviewed your resu and find that you are a strong candidate for our company. Would you be available to co in for an interview tomorrow?"
"It’s mostly a formality. With your qualifications, we’re confident you can handle the job."
Hearing this, Liu Qianqian covered her mouth, looking at Chen Zheng in astonishnt.
"Hello, Ms. Liu Qianqian, are you still there?"
Liu Qianqian quickly snapped back to reality. "I’m here! I’m free tomorrow. Is it alright if I co in the morning?"
"Of course. We’ll be waiting for you tomorrow morning. Goodbye."
"Goodbye!"
After hanging up, Liu Qianqian stood there in a daze for a mont. "Brother... Brother Chen Zheng!"
The next second, she grabbed his hand in excitent. "Brother Chen Zheng! Thank you! Dahong Real Estate actually called and asked to co in for an interview tomorrow!"
"And they said the interview is just a formality! You’re amazing! Is your friend a manager at Dahong Real Estate? That was incredibly fast!"
As Chen Zheng was about to respond, the system’s voice echoed in his mind.
[Ding! Host has chosen successfully. Reward: Increased favorability from the campus belle! Liu Qianqian’s favorability has increased by twenty points!]
Feeling the softness of Liu Qianqian’s small hand, Chen Zheng couldn’t help but smile.
"It was a small thing. My friend carries a lot of weight at Dahong Real Estate, so it was nothing."
Hearing this, Liu Qianqian nodded. "I see... Well, thank you, Brother Chen Zheng!"
Just then, a furious shout echoed from the entrance. "Let go of her hand!"
Liu Qianqian froze, instinctively glancing down at her hand. She had been so excited that she’d grabbed Chen Zheng’s hand without thinking.
She instinctively started to pull back, but a pair of hands gripped her arm forcefully, yanking her away from Chen Zheng.
"Ah!" she cried out.
Chen Zheng frowned and turned to face the newcor. It was a young man in his early twenties with a face contorted in rage.
"Yang Xiu! What are you doing?!" Liu Qianqian snapped back to her senses and pulled her arm away.
But the young man nad Yang Xiu ignored her. He glared at Chen Zheng furiously. "Who the hell are you? What are you doing grabbing my girlfriend’s hand?!"
Chen Zheng was taken aback, a flicker of anger rising within him.
But Liu Qianqian imdiately shot back, "Yang Xiu, are you insane? When was I ever your girlfriend?! Besides, Brother Chen Zheng and I are just friends! What is going on in that head of yours?!"
Her words only enraged Yang Xiu further. "What’s going on in my head?!" he roared. "We’ve grown up together for nearly sixteen years! And you’re still telling you’re not my girlfriend?!"
Liu Qianqian was dumbfounded. "I’m sure I’ve made myself perfectly clear. I have only ever thought of you as a good friend!"
"Ha?!" Yang Xiu laughed maniacally. "Liu Qianqian, don’t you just look down on because I don’t have money? I’ve known what kind of person you are for a long ti! You’re only saying this because I’m poor, right?"
"You’re a gold digger! You’ll jump into any rich man’s car the first chance you get! You probably don’t even care if he’s married or has kids, do you?"
"Qian Qian, you can’t throw yourself away like this! A guy like him only sees you as a pretty young thing to play with. He’ll never actually like you!"
Yang Xiu had completely lost it, his words becoming unfiltered and incredibly vicious.
Chen Zheng was utterly baffled. Where did this guy pop out from, spewing such filth?!
Liu Qianqian was furious as well. "Yang Xiu, are you insane?! You can say whatever you want about , but you will not insult my friend!"
This made Yang Xiu even more hysterical. "If *he’s* your friend, then what am I?! When have you ever defended like this? You’re still denying your relationship with him!"
Saying this, he glared fiercely at Chen Zheng, as if he wanted to eat him alive.
"Yang Xiu!" Liu Qianqian exclaid. "Stop making a scene! Brother Chen Zheng and I are really just friends!"
