「On the other side.」
Chen Zheng had just left the police station when he saw a black sedan and an Alphard MPV pull up.
Two bodyguards exited the sedan. One of them quickly walked over to the Alphard, pulled open the door, and Wei Zixuan stepped out.
"Darling! I heard you were in trouble, so I ca over!"
Chen Zheng smiled at her, while Wei Ruxue stood there, completely stunned. This is Chen Zheng’s wife?! The president of Xingsheng Group?! My boss?!
Wei Zixuan smiled as she walked toward Chen Zheng. "Should I give you a ride? I just heard you also have a house in the Garden Villa estate!"
Chen Zheng scratched his head, unsure how to explain, and could only say, "Alright, let’s go then!"
With that, Chen Zheng was about to tell Zhao Gao and the others to get in the vehicles.
However, Wei Ruxue took a half step back, forced a smile, and said, "I still have sothing to take care of, so I won’t be visiting your villa!"
"Is that so... Well, be safe on the road then!"
Chen Zheng wasn’t overly familiar with Wei Ruxue. He might have had a crush on her in the past, but he was a married man now—a man with a family!
The drive took about half an hour, and the car stopped at the gate of Number One, Garden Villa Estate.
"Why don’t you co in for a bit?" Chen Zheng said to Wei Zixuan with a smile from inside the car.
"Darling, when I heard you were in trouble, I dropped everything and rushed right over. I still have to get back to the office!" Wei Zixuan said, sounding helpless, though her tone was coquettish.
"Okay, you’re a career woman, after all! But I did just give you the villa’s passcode, so if you want to co by, you can let yourself in!" Chen Zheng shrugged.
Their relationship was a bit like getting on a bus without a ticket—they were married, but love still needed ti to grow.
"Then I’ll head out first!" Chen Zheng said, preparing to get out of the car.
But just then, Wei Zixuan suddenly called out to him. She quickly leaned in and gave him a gentle peck on the cheek.
Chen Zheng felt a jolt of electricity shoot through him, making him tremble slightly.
He turned his head toward Wei Zixuan. "Hey, that was a sneak attack! You don’t fight with honor. I have to get you back!"
Covering her mouth, Wei Zixuan chuckled. "That won’t do. I need to get back to the company. If you don’t want to go back to the villa, you can co take a tour of my office!"
"Alright, alright, you career woman! So bossy even when you’re stealing a kiss!"
"Hmph!"
Chen Zheng laughed as he got out of the car. Zhao Gao and Li Hao were already waiting for him at the villa’s entrance.
"Welco ho, esteed Master."
As Chen Zheng approached the entrance, the smart butler greeted him respectfully, and the main gate swung open automatically.
"Whoa, this is seriously high-tech!"
"No key, no passcode, it just opens automatically when the master returns. Impressive!"
Zhao Gao and Li Hao’s eyes widened in shock.
"I gave you the passcode anyway. Once you get registered, the smart butler, Hua Hua, will open the gates for you too," Chen Zheng said with a smile.
"Thanks, Brother Zheng! I never thought that I, Li Hao, would one day live in such a luxurious mansion!"
Li Hao was utterly overwheld with excitent. If he were a woman, he probably would have offered himself in marriage.
Zhao Gao was also thrilled, but he quickly managed a smile and said, "Brother Zheng, I don’t think I’m cut out for the royal life just yet. My office is too far from here, making the commute a hassle. I’ll just co over to hang out when I’m free!"
Chen Zheng smiled and waved his hand dismissively. "What work, Skinny?"
"Your Brother Zheng has co up in the world. How could I forget my bros? Quit that job of yours. I’m planning to open a food court, and right now it’s just and Haozi. You should co join us!"
The three of them chatted as they walked inside.
"Really? That’s fantastic!" Zhao Gao exclaid, before scratching his head again. "But Brother Zheng, I don’t have any capital to invest. Opening a food court must cost a lot of money..."
Chen Zheng chuckled. "We’re brothers, we don’t talk about money. Don’t worry, I’ll handle the finances, but you two will have to handle the operations. I’ll take one-third of the shares!"
Then, turning to Haozi, he said, "The three of us will split it evenly—a third each. How does that sound?"
"That’s perfect! I was worried about how to handle it all by myself," Li Hao said. "With Skinny joining, we’ll have soone to bounce ideas off of!"
"Alright then, it’s settled. I’m a bit tired today, so I’m going to get so rest. You guys can find a room for yourselves!"
With that, Chen Zheng headed straight for the second floor. Although it was his first ti in the villa, he had already studied the blueprints on his phone and knew the layout of every room.
"Got it, Brother Zheng!" Li Hao replied.
"Haozi, thank you!" Zhao Gao was so moved he burst into tears.
"Don’t start crying, man! You’re giving goosebumps. Once you quit your job tomorrow, it’s ti for us to go all out!" Li Hao said, stretching languidly as he sat down on the sofa.
"Don’t worry, I’m calling my boss right now. To be honest, I’ve wanted to curse him out for a long ti. He’s always feeding us empty promises to get us to work unpaid overti!"
With that, Zhao Gao took out his phone and dialed his boss’s number.
"I will climb step by step, all the way to the top! I’m going to *be* Zhao Gao!" he roared into the phone before hanging up. Just like that, Zhao Gao lost nothing and gained his chance to climb.
After resting for a bit, the two began to explore the villa. They rode the exercise bikes in the gym for a while, played a ga of pool in the entertainnt room, and belted out a couple of songs. Finally, they jumped into the swimming pool for a skinny dip.
In the end, they never even made it to a bedroom, falling asleep right on the living room sofa.
「...」
Chen Zheng, on the other hand, enjoyed a nice, long bath in the master bathroom. Wrapped in a bathrobe, he lay down on the bed to rest.
Just then, his phone vibrated.
He picked it up and saw a WeChat ssage from Wei Zixuan.
"Are you resting, my love?"
"Not yet. I’m just lying in bed, plotting how to get you back for that surprise attack earlier."
"Hmph. Who knows what you’re *really* plotting!" Wei Zixuan replied, giggling.
"By the way, I just checked. Is Intelligent Cloud a subsidiary of your Xingsheng Group?" Chen Zheng suddenly asked.
"Yes, it is. Why?"
"You guys have a partnership with Dahong Real Estate, right? Are you free tomorrow? How about you co with ?"
「The next morning, at seven o’clock.」
Chen Zheng woke up. After washing up, he went downstairs and saw his two brothers fast asleep on the sofa, snoring away.
"My god, did you two really sleep in the living room all night?!" Chen Zheng scratched his head, looking at Zhao Gao and Haozi as if they were aliens.
"Hahaha, we were having so much fun last night we didn’t even get around to picking rooms," Zhao Gao said sheepishly. "We just crashed on the sofa."
