But Karen had sustained much more severe injuries when she was held captive by Scott. The bruises, swelling, cuts, and welts on her body were ticulously taken care of by the nurse.
The mont Cheyenne saw that Karen was still alive, she burst into tears of joy.
But while watching the nurse take care of Karen’s injuries from the side, she felt extrely worried too.
Over the course of one short day, Karen had ended up in such a sorry plight, making Cheyenne feel uneasy and ridden with guilt.

Lucas sighed in his heart. Then he called Charlotte, who was working at the office, to inform her that Karen had already returned safely.
As expected, Charlotte heaved a sigh of relief and felt extrely grateful to Lucas. She told him that she would imdiately rush over to see Karen after getting off work.
No matter what, they had been living as mother and daughter for decades. There was no way Charlotte could forgo her feelings for Karen easily.
After hearing what Lucas said over the phone, Cheyenne finally recalled sothing extrely important.
