Second Year

"Where did you go? You're coming back so late."

When Mo Ying returned to the dorm, it was already around 10 PM. Naturally, Xiya was concerned about her.

"I went to Miss Akina's Hunter Guild. We caused a ruckus for quite a long ti before I finally ca back,"

Mo Ying said as she sat down on a chair in the dorm room.

"Akina? Is that the Hunter lady who brought us cake last ti?"

Xiya vaguely rembered who Akina was.

"Yes, that's her."

Mo Ying opened a bottle of water on the desk and gulped it down in big swigs.

Actually, there was sothing a bit impolite she wanted to say.

That is, among the three Hunters in the Moon of the World—Akina included—they were all a bit abnormal.

"Sumr vacation ends tomorrow, classes start again, I really don't want to go back,"

Mo Ying flopped onto her bed and rolled around with a groan.

"At least we get to see Teacher Liushu again,"

Xiya said.

"I bet Teacher Liushu is even less willing to co to school than we are."

Mo Ying laughed.

"Xiya, Xiya,"

Mo Ying called Xiya's na twice.

"What is it?"

Xiya closed the book she was holding.

"What do you want to do after we graduate?"

Mo Ying asked.

She and Xiya had co from the sa world. Compared to this world, they were outsiders.

They had no family here, and not many friends either. For now, they could still live at the academy, but what would they do after graduation?

"After graduation, I want to beco a Hunter, I think that'd be a lot of fun. What about you, Xiya? Want to co with ?"

Mo Ying asked.

"No, I have other things I need to do."

Unexpectedly, Xiya refused her outright.

"What other things?"

Mo Ying hadn't expected Xiya to be so direct.

"I suppose... I suppose I'll travel across this world. I need to find soone I've been searching for all along,"

Xiya replied.

"But you don't even rember what she looks like, or her na. How would you find her?"

"And besides, how can you be sure she's really in this world?"

Mo Ying knew that, in Xiya's heart, there had always been this obsession.

She wanted to find soone—a person she had been following for as long as she could rember.

Actually, Mo Ying also wanted to find soone—the person who had given her that shard.

That fragnt was what brought both her and Xiya to Yggdonia.

But Yggdonia was so vast; how could she begin searching?

"...."

Xiya fell silent, just continued looking at her book.

Mo Ying didn't try to pick up the conversation topic again. She rely pulled the covers over herself and picked up her phone.

The night passed quietly.

"Good morning, everyone!"

The next morning was the opening ceremony for the second year.

The energetic principal hopped onto the podium. As was international practice, she was about to deliver yet another rambling speech for several hours.

"Aaah..."

After more than a month, Mo Ying saw Teacher Liushu again. He was standing on the podium, dozing off.

"That's enough, you don't need to say more," the principal was halfway through her rambling when Wei forcefully dragged her off stage.

Only Teacher Liushu was left on the podium.

"Ah, um, so what should I say at a ti like this?"

Liushu began, and imdiately had the students laughing.

"If there's nothing much to say, I'll just wish everyone a happy new sester. That's all from ."

From Liushu's face, there was no way to tell that he had any particular passion for teaching.

"Oh, right,"

Liushu said, just as he was about to turn away, stopping and coming back.

"In the second year, there will be new teachers. So of them may not be human. If you have any objections, please file a complaint with the principal. Do not take it out on your teachers. Show respect—so of them are not that easy to get along with."

With that piece of news dropped, Liushu took his leave.

"Teachers... who aren't human?"

Mo Ying pondered for a mont.

Thinking about it, Wei wasn't human either—she was an elf.

And speaking of other races, Mo Ying could only think of angels and demons she'd seen in textbooks, and just yesterday, the dragonfolk she'd t, as well as the incredibly rare chanical race, tianke.

Among the students, there were always so who discriminated against other races, but Mo Ying and Xiya were not among them.

The morning opening ceremony ended and the students gradually dispersed.

There wasn't any outdoor lesson this afternoon; instead, there would be lessons in the classrooms to help students familiarize themselves with their new rooms.

Afternoon arrived.

Dreamscape Academy's teaching thods were very flexible—students could choose teachers and classrooms freely, and if your ranking on the ladder tournant was high enough, you could get so favoritism from certain teachers.

Which teacher didn't prefer outstanding students, after all?

"Teacher Zhi Ying is in charge of the Support Departnt, teacher Huamo handles the dical Departnt, teacher Miliya takes care of the Magic Departnt, and Teacher Lina oversees the Martial Departnt. There have been major changes in the rest of the faculty for elective subjects, like languages, religion, and race studies,"

Mo Ying read from the chart listing classrooms and teachers.

"Lina—isn't she the head knight? A famous figure in Anzelona."

Mo Ying said in surprise.

Their year had a new Martial Departnt teacher: Lina.

Even Mo Ying had heard her na—Lina, the grand commander of the Anzelona knight corps, the personal guard to the Empress herself.

It was rumored she was strong enough to fight off ten monsters single-handedly, and when graded by Hunter standards, she was only three ranks below Sovereign—she was a star-grade Hunter.

"I haven't heard of Teacher Miliya either."

As for Miliya of the Magic Departnt, Mo Ying was completely unfamiliar with her—seemingly a total unknown.

"Has Teacher Liushu really fallen to the Botany Departnt? By the way, does he even know anything about plants?"

Seeing Liushu listed as a botany teacher, Mo Ying could hardly suppress a smile.

"Let's take a look,"

Mo Ying and Xiya headed over to Liushu's classroom.

"This grass... you can't eat it."

In Liushu's classroom, a handful of students were listening—most of them just there to slack off, since his lessons were notoriously relaxed.

"This grass is edible, not bad at all; it's tender, too. If you're really starving, you can eat this instead of dirt."

"This leaf is poisonous, but if you boil it in water, it can still be eaten."

"This flower has so hallucinogenic properties—if you eat it, be careful."

"....."

Liushu's comnts left Mo Ying utterly speechless.

"He actually... seems to know quite a lot,"

Xiya swallowed nervously.

This was beyond her expectations—Liushu genuinely seed well-versed in botany.

"But why does it sound so convincing? It's like he's actually eaten all these things. For so reason, it feels kind of tragically authentic,"

Mo Ying remarked.

"Let's not interrupt him. Let's check out the other classrooms,"

Xiya suggested.

"Mhm,"

Mo Ying nodded her agreent.

The two of them turned and walked off to explore the other classrooms.
