Shortage of mbers

In the afternoon's practical combat class, because Mo Ying ate faster than others, she arrived at the sports field early.

Xiya, Shuang Yun, and Liushu, who was the teacher, had not arrived yet.

There were still twenty minutes left until the afternoon class began.

Teacher Liushu would be ten minutes late, which ant there were thirty minutes in total.

Mo Ying lay down under a tree, planning to take a nap first.

Then, she saw Wei walk past her.

She imdiately beca alert.

Although Mo Ying was often cheerful and chatty in front of Teacher Liushu, she truly didn't dare to get too presumptuous in front of Wei.

That was because Director Wei was genuinely strict—not just with students, but also with many teachers, and even Principal Alitos was afraid of her.

Mo Ying was famous for causing trouble, and Wei took special "care" of her. However, this ti, Wei didn't seem to be here for her.

Mo Ying hid behind the tree and quietly peeked out, watching Wei.

Wei was now talking to a female student, but as the distance was too far, Mo Ying couldn't clearly see what the girl looked like; she only noticed she was wearing a nun's outfit and looked like a clergy mber.

Was she from the dical Departnt?

Clergy mbers usually belonged to either the Support Departnt or the dical Departnt.

What were they talking about? Was it a reprimand?

The curiosity-bursting Mo Ying planned to move a little closer to eavesdrop.

"Did you discover sothing fun? Let see."

Liushu suddenly leaned over.

"Teacher Liushu?!"

Mo Ying got startled by Liushu.

"How co you're here so early?"

After the shock, curiosity took over.

"I got caught slacking off by Director Wei, so she dragged here along the way. What are you looking at?"

Liushu followed Mo Ying's line of sight.

Wei had already walked so distance away.

Mo Ying also couldn't find where that student in the nun's outfit had gone.

"Teacher Liushu, do we have students at our school who wear nun outfits?"

"Hmm? So clergy mbers can wear nun or monk robes to class, for the sake of their faith. You'll see quite a few students in nun outfits if you visit the Support Departnt."

Liushu explained briefly.

Seeing nuns at Dreamscape Academy was nothing particularly rare.

"Mo Ying, the Ladder Tournant is about to be held soon. I don't doubt your individual strength, but have you picked out teammates for the mixed team match?"

Liushu asked.

"Teammates for the mixed match? Xiya and I are enough. I can solo everyone!"

Mo Ying raised her hand confidently.

"Ahem, this Ladder Tournant isn't like the last two. This ti, it's a promotion Ladder Tournant—in other words, it directly determines your ranking among second-year students. It's different from before. This ti, everyone will probably be taking it seriously, and since your classmates already know about your strength, if you only bring Xiya, it'll be hard for you to perform in the tournant."

Liushu said.

The previous two Ladder Tournants were when students didn't know much about Mo Ying, and they more or less underestimated her.

Now that they knew how strong Mo Ying was, they would certainly study thods to target her. Besides, in the mixed match, a team could have up to five people, and Mo Ying and Xiya only had two.

"Then just add Shuang Yun?"

Mo Ying said, but on careful thought, she realized she didn't have many possible teammates at the Academy; most people wanted to defeat her in the tournant.

"I suggest you get a full team of five."

"Then let's add Teacher Liushu!"

"I'm a teacher... Why not pull Director Wei into your team directly?"

"But I don't know anyone else,"

Mo Ying counted her fingers. Even though she knew plenty of people, it seed there were few she could actually bring into the Ladder Tournant with her.

"Don't you have any other friends?"

"All those friends are thinking of how to get revenge on in the Ladder Tournant. Besides, the tournant is about to start, and everyone has basically found their own teams. Where am I supposed to look for others now?"

Mo Ying replied.

"Maybe try looking around the Support Departnt or the dical Departnt."

"I will... But first, I'm going to invite Shuang Yun!"

"Good choice. Shuang Yun is a transfer student, so she probably hasn't joined a Ladder Tournant team yet, but as a Martial Departnt student, you know they're highly sought after—I suggest you move quickly."

"I'll go find her right now!"

Mo Ying shouted, then turned around.

"Bang!"

And ran straight into the just-arriving Shuang Yun.

The two of them were knocked to the ground.

"Shuang Yun! Perfect timing! Join my team!"

Mo Ying grabbed Shuang Yun by the collar and started shaking her.

"If you shake her any more, she'll have to call the Knights and accuse you of attempted murder."

Liushu reminded, while behind her, Xiya had also arrived.

"What's going on?"

Xiya asked.

"Ah, well, actually..."

Liushu explained briefly.

"Recruiting for the Ladder Tournant? With Mo Ying's level, if you recruited students online, I bet a lot of people would be willing to join."

Xiya comnted.

"I'd still rather you find teammates yourselves. Dreamscape Academy has all kinds of students, and you want to find the ones who fit your team. Recruiting people who don't cooperate will only hurt you."

Liushu explained.

Over there, Mo Ying was still talking to Shuang Yun about sothing, but anyway, Liushu saw Shuang Yun nodding.

Hmm, managed to trick one in.

Poor newly-enrolled Shuang Yun probably hadn't figured out what was happening yet...

"Now that we have three people, that should be enough, right?"

Mo Ying was as confident as ever.

"Heh."

Liushu let out two mocking laughs.

"I think I just heard a very derisive laugh from Teacher Liushu. Are you treating as an idiot?"

"I'm just hoping you don't get thrashed in the Ladder Tournant. After all, it's three versus five."

"But there really isn't ti to find suitable teammates now. Should we just recruit two random people?"

Xiya asked.

"In that case, I suggest the three of you just go for it. You may not have much chance of winning the championship, but getting into the top few shouldn't be a problem. As for the individual champion, that's probably Mo Ying's for the taking."

Liushu opened a bag of snacks and placed it in front of the four of them; they started sharing it.

The reason Liushu was so confident was because Mo Ying's individual level was truly outrageous.

Although she usually acted jokey and mischievous, her magic talent and combat ability were extrely high, and her reaction speed was frightening.

With her unique mastery of light and dark magic, no student could get the upper hand in a one-on-one fight with Mo Ying at the mont.

While the group was still chatting, a crimson figure arrived, holding a gift box.

"Akina?"

Liushu looked at Akina.

The newcor was indeed yesterday's tracker, Akina.

"Your stuff."

Akina handed the box to Mo Ying.

"Thanks."

Mo Ying accepted the box.

"One hundred and thirty Naye."

"So expensive!"

Mo Ying exclaid, but still obediently took out the money for Akina.

Akina took the money without further ado and left.

"This cake can only cost thirty Naye at most, but the delivery fee ca to a hundred!? The price the tracker charges is really frightening—definitely not soone you can hire at will."

"You asked Akina to buy this cake?"

Liushu asked.

"Yes! After hearing Teacher Zhi Ying talk about it so much, I wanted to try it myself, and it was way simpler than I expected."

"When I asked Miss Akina if she wanted to sign that, what was it—ZL contract—she said it wasn't worth the trouble for such a small matter. Just pay when the item arrives."

Mo Ying opened the cake.

"Trackers are convenient, but the price is too high. Even if I worked for a month, I'd barely get two thousand Naye. Just this cake cost one hundred and thirty."

"A Dreamscape Academy teacher's monthly wage is only about three thousand Naye..."

Liushu comnted.

"Yeah, not everyone can afford to hire a tracker. I really get it now."

Mo Ying took out the plastic knife from the box and started cutting the cake.

Liushu didn't even want to comnt on the uneven slices Mo Ying was carving out.

"From what I see, your slice is way bigger, Mo Ying."

Liushu exposed Mo Ying's little trick.

"Really? You're imagining things!"

Mo Ying swallowed her piece in one bite.

Ha, the evidence gone.

"Ahem."

She imdiately choked.

"Ahem, ahem, ahem!"

Seeing Mo Ying like this, Xiya quickly handed her a bottle of water.

"Ah, I almost went to et my beloved parents."

Mo Ying said, half her soul leaving her body.

"That's the price of greed. By the way, this cake does taste great. Which bakery is it from?"

Liushu said.

"I specifically had Akina take the teleportation array to another city and line up for thirty minutes to get it!"

"If I were Akina, I'd have raised the price to two hundred directly."

"Two hundred is robbery; I'm just a poor student."

"By the way, tomorrow is Saturday, a rare holiday—any plans?"

Liushu brought up a question.

"Why are you suddenly asking this?"

Mo Ying asked.

"If you have any gatherings or parties, rember to invite . I want to freeload so food."

Liushu said with a shaless smile.

"Have so sha, teacher Liushu."

Mo Ying sweated.

"I need to buy so essentials on Saturday—since I just moved into the school, there's still a lot I need," said Shuang Yun.

"I don't have any parties—probably just reading at the library," said Xiya, never failing her good-student persona.

"I don't have much planned either—probably gaming all night and then sleeping until nightfall, then getting up to eat sothing before gaming again."

"That's a typical loser routine."

"How do you have the right to criticize my habits, teacher Liushu? You probably do the sa as ."

"At your age, you should hurry up and get a girlfriend. The older you get, the harder it'll be."

"Hmm? I have a wife,"

Liushu said.

"Eh?"

For a mont, it was as if ti stood still. No one spoke.

-------------= Clacky's Corner -------------=

I like this teacher already...

Probably henpecked as well, because his wife is stronger than him...

Probably a Goddess. lol.

Probably got forced to get married as well...

Not gonna lie, I like this better than maid villainess...

Probably because author-nim's writing has improved...
