Chapter 248: Choice
In Panagea, the rewarded territories had an excess of resource areas.
But the system didn't give the resources for free to the ruler just because they won an event after paying 15 top Primal stones. The total value of resources in the first-ranked territory was equivalent to the sum of resources in the Primal and Sacred dinsions combined, so the system just couldn't allow the rulers to get resources right after winning the territory. It would be no less than stupid for both the store and the system.
The system had created a powerful creature depending on the value of the resources, and it guarded the resource area to stop the rulers from getting control so smoothly. It still wasn't enough as if millions of adventurers, let alone billions or trillions combined their powers, defeating the guarding creature would beco easy.
So as not to let the adventurers get away with the resources so efficiently, the system had also added a colony of powerful beings that lived there like settlents and dangerous areas.
The system had added those creatures who couldn't live without that kind of resource. So they would fight to the death with the ruler for the resources if they dared to take them.
The system had also excluded those creatures from the influence of the ruler, so for them, the ruler or any other being was the sa. They would kill anyone that dared to intrude and take away their lifeline.
So of the high-level resources areas in the territory had colonies of creatures even more powerful than the leaders of the most dangerous areas or the most powerful settlents.
So, the resources areas were even more challenging for the rulers than the dangerous areas. The dangerous areas only worried them more because the creatures of the resource areas would never leave, but the sa was not the case for the inhabitants of the dangerous locations.
Unlocking of the high-level resource area only ant that Maria wouldn't need to defeat the guardian creature anymore. She would now only need to kill the creatures living there to gain complete control for it.
In this phase, entering any high-level resource area wasn't anything less than stupidity. The minimum level of creature living in any high-level resource area in Maria's territory was 300, so it was easier for her to beco an Immortal rather than defeating them.
According to Evelyn's guesses, any being above Level 250 was a God in terms of the actual world, so Maria literally needed to defeat Gods of the Sacred dinsion to take control of the area.
Even after knowing the difficulties and her limitations, Maria still couldn't let go of the unlocking of the resource areas. The minimum level of guarding creatures of a high-level resource area was Level 450, so if she selected the second option, she wouldn't need to defeat that being.
"ARGH!" Maria ssed up her hair and scread to vent her frustration.
Seeing Maria screaming while looking at the air made the Dwarven leader pale in fright. Only a few monts earlier, he had told Maria that he would even die for her, but now he left the room without even daring to look at Maria.
A wry smile appeared on Maria's face, seeing the action of the Dwarven leader. She then ignored it and took a deep breath to calm her mind and heart. She couldn't let greed control her, or it would prove terrible in the future since if she could lose once, then surely she could lose again.
She then took several deep breaths and finally made her find. Her face still had a hint of struggle, but when the tip of her finger touched the screen, the struggle disappeared from her face, and instead, a determined look appeared.
After she had selected her reward, the smaller blue screen began shrinking. A few seconds later, the screen entirely shrunk and turned into a small square box.
At first, the square box was only a projection like the blue screen, she could only see it but not touch it, but soon, it turned into a physical object and began falling to the ground.
Before it could fall, Maria caught it. The box wasn't very large. Her palm could hold the entirety of it.
It was gray in color and looked nothing more than ordinary. Maria didn't look at the box for long and tried to open it.
Click!
The next mont, the box opened effortlessly with a clicking sound. A look of excitent appeared on her face as she couldn't wait to see the content inside the box.
After the box flew open, her eyes shined, seeing the pill sleeping there. It had the sa color as the box, gray, and was in the shape of a pellet.
Even though the pill looked ordinary, anyone who sees it wouldn't think the sa. The mont Maria's eyes fell on it, she couldn't take her eyes off of it as if it was the most beautiful thing in the world. It attracted her to eat it.
Maria took a deep breath, and after a lot of ntal struggle, finally moved her eyes away from it. She then gently picked up the pill and tried to sll it.
She slt nothing since it was odorless. She then took a deep breath and put it in her mouth.
The next mont, a blue light appeared out of nowhere and enveloped her. Soon, the light disappeared, and only she remained standing there.
"Eh!" She couldn't help but exclaim in surprise since she had expected so reaction, but the pill made her silently evolve.
She even thought for a mont that the pill hadn't worked, but the power flowing through her told her sothing different.
She wanted to test her strength. As soon as she turned around, she saw a tallic chair in front of her.
Even though Dwarves had more physical strength than many races, the chair could only be picked up when tens of them tried at once. For the previous her, even moving the chair wasn't a possibility, let alone picking it up.
Maria tried to pick up the chair, and the next mont, she effortlessly picked it up as if it was only an ordinary chair made up of plastic.
She then checked her status, and after seeing her level, a wide smile spread across her face.
"Now, I am the strongest of my organization," Maria mumbled since she was now the highest level adventurer after Aakesh.
