Chapter 1498: Trial of Power(20)
The guards of the Heles Kingdom stood guard near the boundary of the labyrinth all the ti, and they were elitist of the elites, with even the weakest guard being a Level 3.
The guards were stationed as usual when there was a sudden movent at the entry point. They imdiately sheathed their weapons, ready to attack at a mont's notice.

A white light flashed, and a crashing sound rang in the area. The guards imdiately surrounded the being. One of the three guards was stationed at the labyrinth when Huo Jinglin rescued the prince, so he recognized the bloody man as Huo Jinglin.
The guard had heard that the savior had suddenly disappeared from the room but never expected Huo Jinglin to be there.
Huo Jinglin wasn't unconscious like the last ti, so he called out to the prince. The guard who recognized him talked imdiately with the other guards and then returned to report to the higher authority.
Ti flew by, and around an hour later, the prince himself ca to et him.
The last ti, the prince had failed to thank Huo Jinglin, so once the prince heard about Huo Jinglin, he imdiately rushed to the scene.
Huo Jinglin's injury had slightly recovered, so he could walk without much pain. He imdiately greeted the prince once he saw him. Since Huo Jinglin had carried the prince to safety, he easily recognized him.

"I didn't expect you to be my fortune star." The prince stated in surprise when he saw the locked box in Huo Jinglin's hands.
Huo Jinglin simply smiled in response to that and passed the box to the prince. He didn't take the prince's words to heart since it was clearly ntioned on the challenge screen that if he took the item for himself, the prince would beco his enemy.

The prince didn't say anything else and imdiately took the box from Huo Jinglin. He then transferred so of his energy, and the box opened with a clicking sound.
As soon as the item inside the box was revealed, a beautiful lody rang in the room. Huo Jinglin couldn't help but feel calm hearing that.

"Here are your ten low Experience Cores," The prince handed the reward to Huo Jinglin.
Huo Jinglin smiled on the outside but cursed the prince for his lack of character in his heart. The challenge screen set the price of the material at 50 cores, whereas the prince gave him ten cores because that was the price.
The next mont, Huo Jinglin's smile turned sincere when he heard the next statent of the prince.
"Whenever you request help using the dallion, contact first, and I will send you the strongest Level 3 for your help."
As for how to contact the prince, the prince gave Huo Jinglin a talisman that could help him contact the prince once.
"Thanks for your grace, prince," Huo Jinglin thanked the prince.
The next mont, in front of them, a white light enveloped Huo Jinglin, and he disappeared from the room.
The prince and others in the room looked surprised since the guards around the prince were all Level 4 and couldn't even sense how things happened.

Huo Jinglin stepped out of the portal after pressing the return button on the screen.
He had enough cores to break through to Level 2. Since his body wasn't in optimal condition physically or ntally, Huo Jinglin climbed down the stairs and imdiately jumped to his bed after entering the room.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and Huo Jinglin's body had fully recovered. He didn't imdiately start the absorption process that day but on the next day.
Two days later, Huo Jinglin had absorbed the ten low Experience Cores required to step into Level 2 from Level 1.
He took a deep breath and picked up another low Experience Core. He had only absorbed a tiny part of the energy reserves of the core when an explosion rang inside his body.
The energy that Huo Jinglin had absorbed from ten cores imdiately rushed as if breaking through a wall. Wherever it passed, his organs would be destroyed. But Huo Jinglin didn't feel any pain, and the injury was restored imdiately.
A few minutes later, the process ca to an end, and Huo Jinglin stepped into Level 2, no longer being a Level 1.
Imdiately after that, Huo Jinglin felt his body becoming out of control, and he stood in front of the tree in the sea of consciousness. His body suddenly trembled since the last experience he had with the tree was still present in his mory.
The last ti he ca here, Huo Jinglin ate a fruit, resulting in his body getting possessed by a powerful being. He decided not to try to pluck a fruit again, but unfortunately for him, his desire got out of control, forcing him to extend his right hand and pluck a second fruit.
Before he could co around, Huo Jinglin had taken a large bite of the fruit. Imdiately, an explosion of liquid happened in his mouth, and an expression of pleasure appeared on his face. In just a few bites, Huo Jinglin had devoured the entirety of the fruit.
When he ca around, a look of shock and fear spread across his face since the deed he was dreading the most had already been done.
The next mont, he was thrown out of his sea of consciousness as if it were controlled by soone else. When he returned to the room, he felt white smoke rising from his body.
Huo Jinglin couldn't help but feel happy, and it was an instinctive feeling. It seed like whatever tried to possess him couldn't do so at his residence.
Fortunately for him, his thought turned out to be correct, and a few monts later, a silhouette of a living being ford above Huo Jinglin. It had a frightened expression and imdiately tried to escape.
Unfortunately for it, before it could even reach the door, the white smoke had fully dissipated.
