Chapter 1429: Annett and Her Beasts(4)
Annett activated [Spirit Annihilation], a skill she needed the help of both the Phantom Bear and Ghostly Harrows to unleash in reality. The skill was another reason for her to go with the combination of those two beasts to battle the Spectral Worm.
As Annett activated the skill, her body began to slowly fade while her eyes turned completely blank, devoid of any emotions. The Spectral Worm sensed danger to its life, looking at the fading Annett, so it also activated [Ethereal Transcendence].
The next mont, the pattern spread across its body began to spread even further and soon converged into its pitch-black eyes.
The worm's eyes were now like luminescent gems, containing the accumulation of all the patterns. At the sa ti, the energy signature of the beast was growing at a dangerous level.
A terrifying pressure erged from its body, which even slowed down the rate at which Annett was fading. Her blank eyes showed fear, but soon, things returned to usual, and her fading rate recovered.
The Spectral Worm could sense that neither of its defensive skills was a match for what was to co, so it decided to fight offense by offense. It was extrely dangerous, but it had no other choice. If that were the case before the loss of trendous vitality due to so many injuries, it could have been able to defend the attack with its body in its transcendent state.
A spiritual storm appeared above the worm's head and began to gather at the tip of its eyes. Annett had completely disappeared at that ti, and every inch of the area in the range of a thousand ters had beco her body.
The Spectral Worm was inside that range, and it imdiately stiffened. It didn't take long for the beast to recover, but that small window of stiffening turned out to be imnsely dangerous for the creature.
The next mont, the spiritual energy in the range of one thousand ters turned wild and rioted against the Spectral Worm. The energy began to gather on its own and took the form of a thunderbolt. It was invisible to many, but the beast with the spirit attribute could see it.
The Spectral Worm could feel no elent other than destruction from the energy bolt. It tried to increase the rate at which the skill ford, but it was still slower than the bolt.
The next mont, every bit of energy available in the range of one thousand ters pushed the bolt to the Spectral Worm. The beast could only helplessly look at its arrival, and soon it got devoured.
There was no sound or force release, and the Spectral Worm slowly faded away, turning to nothingness.
At that ti, the energy in the thousand ters tried to gather to form the silhouette of Annett, but it failed to create her body completely. The skill didn't co with an easy cost and was a skill that caused 1000 damage to the enemy but 800 damage to the user.
Annett was at the end of her line, but since the Spectral Worm was dead and she was still alive, the battle had received its result.
Annett breathed a sigh of relief, and then she also faded entirely. The next mont, her consciousness returned to the store, staring at the card compartnt. The death in the taming battle had no influence on her.
The battle with the Spectral Worm was the toughest she had ever faced, so she couldn't hide the mixture of joy and excitent over defeating the beast.
Annett also felt relieved that she didn't wait for the Spectral Worm to use its ultimate skill first. The excitent didn't last long, and imdiately after her return, an unbearable prickling pain hit her.
Annett greeted her teeth, but the pain imdiately disappeared without leaving any sequelae, so she instantly returned to normal. Following the pain, the screen on the device lit up, and it contained the details of the contract.
After winning against the Phantom Moth, Annett found that the contract between the beast and the master wasn't as stringent as it was in reality.
The store treated the beast and the custor as equals, so the master didn't have the right to harm the beast knowingly. But despite that, the loyalty quotient between the beast and owner was imdiately at its highest after the contract got signed, which wasn't the case in reality.
If she were to free the Ghostly Harrow from the taming contract, it wouldn't even wait for a mont before leaving her.
Only the last step of paynt was left before Annett could call the beast truly her own, so she left the queue and walked toward the room's exit. While walking toward the door, Annett looked at the murals with awe.
After walking out of the room, she looked in Aakesh's direction and noticed the small queue waiting for him. Since she couldn't check out other products before paying for the beast, she joined the line and waited for her turn.
After a few minutes, it was finally her turn. She respectfully handed the two beast cards to Aakesh and stated, "Store owner, I want to buy these two beasts."
Aakesh nodded and looked at the beast cards. The next mont, the sales detail appeared in her head.
"You need to pay four hundred fifty ultimate,…, lesser Sacred stones," Aakesh inford Annett, returning the two beast cards to her.
The next mont, a chanical alert rang in Annett's head since she had already bought the Ultimate Store Card for herself.
Annett accepted the transaction, and soon after, the required amount was deducted from the money stored inside the card. Following that, another notification rang in her head, informing her of the remaining balance.
"These are yours from now on," Aakesh stated.
"Thank you, store owner!"
Aakesh simply nodded in response to her thanks. She didn't imdiately leave the line but asked Aakesh about the skill room.
The store sold skills related to beast taming, so she wanted to buy so of them like her sister had done. Since she already knew what custors needed to know, Aakesh simply showed her the room.
Annett thanked Aakesh once again and walked in that direction. Another custor took Annett's place, so Aakesh got busy there.
