Chapter 1375: Breakthrough and New Beginnings(6)
To make sure Laney was correct in her assumptions, she decided to go to the store.
Ti flew by, and as Laney was returning to her residence, a broad smile was all over her face.
Aakesh had confird that she had reached the limit, and the success rate of her breakthrough had crossed the ninety-eight percent mark. It was impossible to increase it further, so it was ti for Laney to start her attempt.
Laney returned to her residence, and she then left for the breakthrough arena. Breaking through to the True God wasn't similar to how things went from Divine Being to Divine Lord. Cultivators needed to pass a tribulation since, from that mont on, their inner world could carry energy, and the inhabitants there could cultivate.
The breakthrough arena was a later addition to Thorr City, and it forced Alfred to take heavy loans from other cities and Kingdoms. Many wanted to sponsor the creation of the arena, but Alfred and Asher decided against it after consideration.
The city was earning well due to the influx of so many custors from outside the city, so they no longer had to worry about paying back the loan.
A custor's unexpected breakthrough a few years ago caused Alfred to develop the breakthrough arena. It wasn't a new inspiration since the Fawkes and other Kingdoms had arenas of their own in their respective capital cities. At that ti, the storeowner had protected the city inhabitants in the range. Alfred saw a new business opportunity in that. As the store grew older and more popular, people from all walks of life would co, and it would be an imnse addition to the city's inco.
The breakthrough arena was only suitable for True God's breakthrough, but Alfred was confident that as ti passed, the city would easily be able to upgrade the arena.
Even though the breakthrough arena was expensive since it used expensive and valuable arrays to increase the elent concentration in the area, Laney had no intention of keeping her breakthrough silent. After she reached the arena, the guards took her to her destination after she paid the required amount.
The guard left Laney at a door since the breakthrough spot was beyond that door, and no one was allowed inside it other than the custors.
Laney took a deep breath and sat down in a ditative position. As she inhaled, a large number of energy particles lted into her. The phenonon kept repeating, and soon Laney's eyes were closed. Her consciousness had fallen into a deep sleep.
The trial had begun as she found herself in an illusion where she had beco an Emperor and had reached the peak of her life. It didn't take Laney long to co out of the illusion since her ntal strength was clearly stronger than the tribulation required.
The next mont, a heavy pressure descended on the area as a spherical core erged out of Laney's body and began to rotate at a quick speed. The more it spun, the heavier the pressure grew. At the sa ti, the spherical core was also enlarging.
A vortex of energy appeared in the area as the spherical core devoured energy at a rapid rate. Ti flew by, and soon, what was only the size of a fingernail had grown to the sa size as her head.
At the sa ti, dark clouds had begun to spread over the sky, and blue lightning rumbled from ti to ti. Finally, the first streak of thunder crashed onto Laney.
Laney seed imrsed in her ditation, as the lightning didn't even scratch her. As ti passed, the sky grew darker, and the number of lightning strikes kept growing. At that ti, there were nurous cracks spread across her body, as if she weren't a living being but a stone.
Despite nurous cracks spread across her body, not a single drop of blood spilled out of them. At the sa ti, the inner world, which had now grown to the sa size as her upper body, remained unscathed. Whenever a lightning strike was about to hit it, a phenonon would play out, and the lightning would hit Laney instead of the inner world.
Ti flew by, and hours passed in the blink of an eye. It usually took days for the breakthrough to be complete, but most of that ti was due to the first test of illusion.
Laney broke it in less than an hour, so her breakthrough wouldn't last as long as it did on average, but she also noticed the difference in lightning.
From what Laney had read, blue lightning was what hit custors attempting the breakthrough. The sa was the case with Laney, but she soon found out that the color of the lightning was growing darker, and the sensation of danger similarly grew.
A few more hours passed, and Laney finally opened her eyes. She had a solemn look in them as she looked at the sky.
The sky was no longer dark, and it was glowing red, while a snake made of red lightning was gracefully moving across the clouds. Whenever Laney saw the red lightning, she would feel an unviolable pressure. Laney was no longer confident of a successful breakthrough if the red lightning hit her since it was known for its extre destructiveness.
At the sa ti, Laney was confounded since it was the first ti she had seen red lightning. Laney took a deep breath and prepared herself to defend, but the next mont, a scene she never expected played out.
The snake made of red lightning gracefully descended, but instead of striking Laney, it struck her inner world. Laney tried everything in her power to stop it. If it were her, there was a chance of survival, but if it were the inner world, the red lightning would destroy it.
Laney had lost all her hope, and a helpless expression spread across her face when suddenly her inner world began to glow intensely red after clashing with the lightning.
It looked like the spherical core was exploding, but Laney found that it was slowly decreasing in size while the red lightning snake was slowly fading away.
An excited expression spread across her face since it ant that the red lightning was blessing her inner world rather than attacking it.
