After Li Qing went ho to wash up, he forced himself to write down questions and answers in the exam papers. After eating sothing, he lay on the bed and slept soundly.

He did not wake up even after noon the next day. Zhao Cai and Ah Lei were worried after seeing him a few tis and ran to invite a physician to take a look. The physician said that Li Qing was just sleeping too soundly. Perhaps he had been too tense in the past and relaxed after the exam.

The two of them were relieved to hear the physician’s words. Just as they sent the physician away, the doorman brought in a visiting card and reported that Scholar Lin had co to visit Li Qing.

Zhao Cai took the visiting card and thought for a mont before following the door to the entrance. He saw a refined man who looked like Li Qing and his sister, as well as the little girl on the carriage that day. They were standing at the door with a rough servant carrying a stack of gift boxes. Scholar Lin looked up at the climbing vines on the courtyard wall.

Zhao Cai thought to himself that Scholar Lin should recognize Young-Master-in-law as soon as he saw him.

When Ling Dang saw Zhao Cai, she smiled sweetly and said to Scholar Lin, “Master, this big brother saved us that day.”

Zhao Cai smiled at the bell and bowed politely. “Greetings, Scholar Lin. My young master hasn’t woken up from the examination yesterday. He can’t receive you personally.”

It turned out that the scholar who had saved Wan’er was also preparing to participate in the examination. It was really comndable that he could risk their own safety to save her in that situation.

Lin Zexu smiled and cupped his hands at Zhao Cai. “Little brother, thank you and your young master for saving my daughter. I’ll co back to visit when your young master wakes up. Please accept this small gift!”

The clerk bowed politely in return. “It’s nothing. Scholar Lin, don’t take it to heart. When my young master wakes up, I’ll tell him. Please forgive for not being able to accept these things. Please take them back.”

Seeing that Zhao Cai insisted on not accepting it, Lin Zexu did not force it. He cupped his hands and smiled. “Little brother, then I’ll co back when your young master wakes up.”

“Take care, Scholar Lin.” Zhao Cai bowed.

Lin Zexu cupped his hands at Zhao Cai and turned to Ling Dang. “Ling Dang, take the things back. We’ll co back when Young Master wakes up.” Ling Dang nodded and bowed to Zhao Cai before following Lin Zexu into the carriage.

Zhao Cai sent Lin Zexu off and returned to the courtyard. Ah Lei said happily to Zhao Cai, “Brother Zhao Cai, Young Master is awake. I’ll go to the kitchen and bring so porridge and side dishes.”

“Oh! That’s good. Hurry up and bring it over!” Zhao Cai smiled and waved at Ah Lei before running to see Li Qing.

Li Qing ca out dressed neatly. Seeing Zhao Cai leaning against the door of his room and waiting for him, he smiled and teased him, “Brother Zhao Cai, I’m not a girl. Why are you guarding ? Besides, I’ve already finished the exam. It’s ti for you to see your little wife. I heard from Ah Lei that a scholar sent a visiting card. Is it the Lin family you ntioned last ti?”

Zhao Cai nodded. Seeing that he wanted to say sothing but hesitated, Li Qing asked in confusion, “I felt that sothing was wrong with your expression that day. Is there sothing wrong with the Lin family?”

Master had already finished the exam. Telling him the truth that Madam had found out and the grudges between Madam, Madam Lin, and the Wang family would not affect him.

Zhao Cai told Li Qing what had happened when Li Yu t Madam Lin in Yunzhou. Li Qing was furious when he heard that. He was relieved to hear that Li Yu did not suffer.

Li Qing stopped in his tracks and pondered for a mont. He raised his eyebrows and said, “According to you, this Lin Zexu is my uncle!”

Zhao Cai was amused. “Young Master-in-law, what do you an? He’s still your uncle. He’s your biological uncle, to begin with. Now that you’ve saved his daughter, it depends on whether you and Madam are willing to acknowledge him. You didn’t see Scholar Lin’s appearance. He really looks like you.”

Li Qing felt that after his mother disappeared, Lin Zexu was actually busy going to Yunzhou instead of staying behind to search for her. He was too selfish. After arriving in Yunzhou, he actually let his sister, who had hard her twin, marry the latter’s fiancé. He couldn’t even tell what was obvious. He was simply a muddle-headed worm who couldn’t tell right from wrong.

Li Qing did not have a good impression of Lin Zexu at all. He said indifferently, “Whether I acknowledge him or not can only be decided when Sister cos back. If Sister is willing to acknowledge him, I will. If Sister is unwilling to acknowledge him, I won’t.”

Zhao Cai felt that it made sense. “I’m afraid he’ll visit you tomorrow. Also, Ah Lei said that he t Miss Cousin. Do you want to see her?”

Li Qing hated Li Fengqi for using Laidi, but he still felt pity for her. He thought to himself that his aunt had painstakingly brought up Laidi, so he was still worried about her.

Li Qing looked at Zhao Cai and smiled bitterly. “Sigh! Let’s go et her! It’s too unreasonable to really ignore her. As long as it’s not too out of line, we’ll help if we can!”

“That’s true! After all, you’re biological cousins.” Zhao Cai pointed at the dining room. “Young Master-in-law, go to the dining room first. Ah Lei asked the chef to prepare food. You should eat sothing before going!”

Li Qing nodded and went to the Tongzhou Courier Station after dinner. The shop assistant eagerly brought Li Qing to a small courtyard and knocked on the door. When Laidi saw Li Qing, she mocked unhappily, “Yo! Young Master Li Qing, why are you so free today?”

Li Qing glanced at the sarcastic Laidi and said indifferently, “I’m relieved to see that Cousin is full of energy. Ah Lei, put down the gift box, and let’s go!”

Ah Lei really placed the gift box at the door. Seeing that Li Qing was about to turn around and leave, Laidi hurriedly pulled Li Qing back and said with a smile, “Ah Qing, I’ve been looking for you for a long ti. When I finally see you, I’m not allowed to complain! Why are you so angry now?”

Li Qing turned to look at Laidi and sighed. “I live in the house at the east end of Guihua Alley on East City Street. Cousin, look for there if you need anything.”

Laidi noted it down and looked at Li Qing in embarrassnt. “Alright, aren’t you coming in to sit?”

As Li Qing shook his head, Li Fengqi suddenly ran out of the house. “Ah Qing, co in and sit!”

Li Qing turned to look at the pale Li Fengqi and hesitated for a mont. Before he could reply, he saw Li Fengqi looking at him with a pleading expression.

“Ah Qing, I want you to take a look at the questions I’ve morized and compare the answers with you. It won’t take up too much of your ti.” Li Qing looked at Li Fengqi and nodded. “Alright, Cousin-in-law.”

Li Fengqi happily welcod Li Qing into the house and said to Laidi, “Madam, quickly make Ah Qing a cup of tea.”

Li Qing looked at Li Fengqi’s fawning expression and suddenly felt a little sad. He recalled his days with his sister in the Zhang family. At that ti, he had been looking forward to soone helping him and his sister every day. Li Fengqi wanted to make a na for himself and used Laidi to achieve his goal. It was indeed repulsive, but Laidi had to bear a portion of the responsibility. Forget it! As long as Liu Fengqi could treat Laidi well and not do anything outrageous, he would help if he could!

After thinking about it, Li Qing smiled politely at Li Fengqi. “Cousin-in-law, show your answer!”

“Ah Qing, thank you. Sit here. I’ll take it out now.” Li Fengqi turned around and walked towards the room..
