Fortunately, nothing happened. They successfully picked up Hongling and went shopping, buying clothes for the kids.

Wang Liansheng also picked out a dress and a shirt for Ling Chengyan, insisting that Ling Chengyan try them on before buying them.

Ling Chengyan was sowhat helpless but just smiled and didn’t refuse.

The family had lunch outside, during which they talked to Hongling about so things at the hospital, knowing that Hongling’s hospital internship was going well without any issues, which set their minds at ease.

After lunch, under the suggestion of young student Wang Wenzhang, the family went to the park for half a day, rowed a boat for an hour, and played bumper cars for a while before returning ho satisfied.

Even before the New Year, Ling Chengyan had so stomach discomfort, but after the holiday season as the weather ward, it seed to get better.

Back ho, Ling Chengyan’s stomach was uneasy again; perhaps the lunch dishes were a bit too spicy.

Wang Liansheng found the stomach dicine for her, urging, "Why not get a gastroscopy tomorrow?"

Ling Chengyan shook her head, "I have sothing to do tomorrow..."

Wang Liansheng insisted, "Last ti you said you had sothing, you promised to do a gastroscopy, but it got postponed. Let’s not delay this ti."

Ling Chengyan smiled helplessly, "Alright, maybe in a couple of days. I’ll go when I have the ti."

Wang Liansheng said, "Let know ahead, and I’ll go with you."

Ling Chengyan turned to look at him and nodded with a smile, "Okay."

With Wang Liansheng’s urging, this ti Ling Chengyan didn’t put it off. Coincidentally, she had no plans the next day, so she took a half-day leave and went to the hospital early with Wang Liansheng accompanying her.

Previous visits to the hospital with the old man familiarized them with the process, and after registration, waiting for the diagnosis, the doctor recomnded a gastroscopy upon hearing her stomach discomfort had lasted long, and Ling Chengyan didn’t refuse.

They paid and took the form to the endoscopy room.

The procedure was quite uncomfortable, but for soone like Ling Chengyan with a strong will, it was bearable, and she endured through it, finishing in about half an hour.

The results showed atrophic gastritis, requiring dication and care.

The doctor advised, "Gastric illness treatnts rely on thirty percent dication and seventy percent care. From now on, eat als regularly and avoid spicy, irritating, and poorly digestible foods...You can co for a follow-up once every half to one year."

The two received the dication and Wang Liansheng checked his watch, realizing it was past ten. They chose not to go ho for lunch and instead found a clean restaurant nearby. Serving her with porridge and two buns, he said, "Eat a little bit now, and we’ll have lunch at ho later."

On the way ho, Wang Liansheng drove and let Ling Chengyan eat in the car while he went out to buy so grains.

Looking at the small bags of assorted grains, Ling Chengyan smiled and shook her head.

The doctor had just ntioned that grain porridge was good for the stomach, so he took note and hurried to buy grains.

Wang Liansheng raised an eyebrow at her, laughing, "Don’t dismiss this; rember, the doctor said thirty percent treatnt and seventy percent care. You’ll be obedient, and I guarantee your stomach illness will be cured."

Ling Chengyan couldn’t help but laugh at his joke, shaking her head, as she pushed half of the eaten bun into Wang Liansheng’s mouth.

Luckily, the illness was not severe, or perhaps the body’s recovery ability was strong. Following Wang Liansheng’s three als of porridge daily alongside dication, Ling Chengyan’s stomach problems didn’t recur, and her stomach no longer felt cold, feeling much better.

In a blink of an eye, spring was almost over, and the weather was getting hotter.

The special task force was getting busy, not due to important training tasks, but because of sudden social unrest.

The atmosphere beca tense, and they were ready and waiting every day—

High schools and colleges were on vacation, while middle schools and primary schools continued classes as usual.

Both Hongling and Xiaoyu were on holiday, feeling sowhat anxious, but were comforted by a sentence from Ling Chengyan, "Rember what the elder always said, stay calm."

Indeed, within a few days, the disturbance settled, order resud, and schools reopened.

Hongling returned to Huicheng to prepare for her vocational school graduation.

Xiaoyu also returned to school, yet classmates continued to privately discuss the recent events, divided clearly into opposing sides. The classroom was filled with tension during heated debates.

In the evening upon returning, Xiaoyu felt troubled and quietly sought advice from Ling Chengyan, wanting to take so days off to study at ho—approaching the sumr vacation of sophomore year, most junior year curriculum was nearly finished, focusing mainly on review henceforth.

Ling Chengyan could guess the reason and upon inquiry, Xiaoyu didn’t hold back, explaining the chaotic situation at school hindering her studies.

Wang Liansheng happened to walk by and, upon hearing this, directly offered, "If it’s difficult at school, just take leave and stay ho. I’ll help you request it tomorrow."

Despite having lived with Ling Chengyan and Wang Liansheng for many years, Xiaoyu still felt so distance from Wang Liansheng, usually discussing matters only with Ling Chengyan.

At this point, suddenly interrupted by Wang Liansheng’s words, she was montarily stunned before politely thanking, "Thank you, brother-in-law."

In another shift of ti, Xiaoyu was preparing for her college entrance exams, while Xiao Xing was getting ready for secondary exams. No matter how busy Wang Liansheng was, he made every effort to push aside work engagents to return ho and efficiently manage logistics for the two kids.

At this ti, Ling Chengyan received a task, which involved participating in a nationwide selection, where selected candidates would be sent abroad for international camp training.

Zhang Yuanhong saw her off and said wistfully to Ling Chengyan, "It’s a pity you’re overage, otherwise, you would be automatically reserved, no need for selection."

Ling Chengyan glared at him, "You just settle down at ho as the bridegroom, all our team mbers are outstanding."

Previously, Zhang Yuanhong was supposed to participate in the national shooting competition but couldn’t due to his mother’s passing. Coincidentally, this ti clashed with his wedding period.

Upon receiving the notice, Zhang Yuanhong even considered delaying his wedding, which was vetoed by Ling Chengyan.

This evergreen iron tree blooming was a rarity; she’d take the burden to lead the team this ti without delaying his wedding.

Zhang Yuanhong reluctantly smiled and shook his head, watching the minibus drive out of the compound, disappearing, before the smile on his face faded.

Before passing, his mother’s biggest concern was his wedding. This year, his father’s health also declined significantly; even if not filial, he wouldn’t want his father to regret like his mother.

July 7th, college entrance examination.

July 12th, secondary examination.

July 16th, the day after Xiao Xing’s secondary examination, Ling Chengyan returned.

Coincidentally, Wang Liansheng had work engagents and couldn’t co ho at night.

On her way ho, passing through the compound’s playground, Ling Chengyan spotted a group of teenage boys playing basketball in the distance. One young boy in a sapphire blue short outfit leapt high, intercepting the ball before his opponent, whirling around, faking, breaking free from the opponent’s entanglent, dribbled a few steps, jumped to shoot—a beautiful three-pointer—the ball scored!

Seeing the young boy’s proud smile, Ling Chengyan’s eyes curved as she shook her head with a smile.
