The robot didn’t look like anything special either, after charging, it could only perform basic and stiff instructions, which was probably why it had been preserved.
It was the only thing she took with her when she left that man, besides the eggshell.
Before, she thought there wouldn’t be any pitfalls this ti and couldn’t be bothered to delve into so of the mories locked away by the original owner.
It was only now when she encountered them did she realize that the original owner’s life before becoming a Lord was also full of drama and turbulence.
To sum it up in one sentence, it was a tale of love and murder with a man.
Translated into the plot of a lodramatic novel, it would be the entangled love story between a grass-roots female lead and a rich male lead.
A heart-wrenching story...
The plot then developed through a series of accidents that went, "I love you, but I thought I didn’t love you, I thought I loved her, but actually, it’s you whom I really loved."
And, after going through misunderstandings, forbearance, pain, entanglent, and remorse, they pulled off a series of bold moves to achieve a perfect happy ending.
But the original owner wasn’t the kind of character endowed with the toleration of indignities, as seen in those novels.
So naturally, there wasn’t the process and conclusion of millions of words of love back and forth found in the stories.
Su Li used to say that so people are born carrying inferior genes, and no matter how well you educate them, they just can’t change.
Knowing about this part of the original owner’s life, Su Li had a new understanding of why Su Xun had turned out the way she had.
If you don’t sow well, how can you expect to harvest any good fruit.
--------
Su Li let her thoughts wander for a while. After Su Xun finished saying what she wanted, she hung up the communication hastily.
Soon after, a new set of coordinates ca through, followed by a short voice ssage from Su Xun, the good daughter.
"Mom, set off right now and co here, you wouldn’t want to upset , would you...."
Su Li sneered; had Su Xun not hung up the call, she would have been able to give such a retort that the other party wouldn’t know what hit her.
With a squeeze, the small communicator lted into molten tal in Su Li’s palm.
Fa brings trouble as the pig gets fat.
It felt like all sorts of demons and monsters were erging now.
Soon, Su Li had cast aside thoughts of this daughter.
Daughter? Doesn’t exist... She had no daughter, don’t talk to her about it.
anwhile, Su Xun felt sure that everything was under control.
After hanging up the communicator, she hurriedly called her cousins at ho to arrange a shopping trip together.
She then busied herself with her makeup and outfit, ticulously getting ready.
Calculating the ti, Su Xun should have finished the conversation with Su Li by now; with this in mind, she carried up a tray of fruit.
Setting down what she was holding, her primary concern was still the task she had entrusted to Su Xun.
"Kai Xin, I want to host a party and all the ladies I want to invite are very interested in Su Li; everyone wants to see what kind of hero she is, the one who defeated the Black Pirates, and that Clown Robot...."
"You’ve discussed it with her, she should be coming, right?"
Connie was just asking, she didn’t really believe that the other party would truly neglect the child Su Xun.
Just looking at their shared surna, you’d know, claiming that Su Xun was an adopted child. Anyhow, she believed that there must be a closer relationship between them.
Whether it was an uncle and niece, siblings... or perhaps father and daughter?
Su Xun was indeed very confident, and with confidence, she flashed Connie a sweet smile, "Mom, don’t worry, she will definitely co."
"No one would refuse ."
Su Xun’s words only made Connie more determined in her own thoughts. With Su Xun in hand, Su Li naturally belonged to her camp.
Now that this was almost a sure thing, Connie let it go and turned to talk to Su Xun about other matters.
"Your daddy just spoke to ," she said, "and since there’s this connection between us and Su Li through you, why not let him bridge the gap and ease the relationship between him and the Federation?"
"You can’t twist an arm more powerful than a thigh. Su Li, alone, couldn’t afford to offend such a huge power."
"You never know... it could end up dragging you down."
As soon as she heard these words, Su Xun took them to heart.
Her life had finally smoothed out recently; it could not be ruined.
Therefore, she was even more eager to assure Connie with a pat on the chest, "Don’t worry... if she indeed took sothing from the Federation, I’ll make her cough it up, and I’ll have my father help speak for us too, so the adults won’t take it to heart."
Su Xun knew about the previous farce of a manhunt, but she had only a vague understanding of the true details.
Most of her knowledge was a hodgepodge of hearsay and her own speculation.
She simply believed that her mother must have done sothing wrong to provoke the Federation to issue a warrant.
Otherwise, why target her and not anyone else?
Connie was very satisfied with Su Xun’s attitude and affectionately patted her on the head, "Now, be careful. Your father has just started to acknowledge us a bit; you can’t let him down, or... those damn fox spirits would be laughing at us."
"Even if you’re not my own flesh and blood, as my adopted daughter Connie, all this wealth is ant for you... and I absolutely won’t let those fox spirits have their way."
It made one wonder whether the original owner had any regrets; she had tried to accommodate her own daughter, and now... her naturally twisted daughter had beco even more crooked.
She had turned into a leaning tree.
"Alright, since we’ve settled on that, I’ll go make preparations... Oh, and you double-check with the other party on the timing, so I can prepare the invitations for the ladies, young ladies, and young lords."
Su Xun answered nonchalantly, "I reckon it would take four or five days at most to get here. Main Star isn’t like those remote little planets — it has several interstellar jump points set up. No matter the distance, through interstellar jumps, it’d take just two or three days to arrive."
Connie thought about it and nodded, "Then I’ll send out the invitations first."
Su Xun was preoccupied with her upcoming date, having heard that sons of notable figures would be attending. She could hardly contain her excitent and paid little attention to her foster mother’s words.
She replied perfunctorily, and once Connie left, she couldn’t wait to change into her beautiful clothes and head out the door.
Her mind completely occupied with fun and gas, Su Xun had pushed thoughts of her mother to the back of her mind.
The recent warming of her foster father’s attitude towards her and her foster mother made her even more blindly indulgent in her play.
It wasn’t until three days later, when Connie casually asked Su Xun where the person was and whether they were close to arriving.
Only then did Su Xun rember with a shock that since their last communication, there had been no contact between them.
Unable to answer her foster mother’s question, Su Xun mumbled her way through a temporary response, then hurried to her bedroom to pick up the special communicator.
This ti, however, no matter how much she called out, the communicator’s indicator light did not illuminate.
There were only a few explanations for this: either she had been blacklisted by the other party, making it impossible to call them, or the other party’s communicator had been damaged and thus unreachable.
After several more attempts resulting in the sa outco, a faint panic arose within Su Xun.
"It can’t be..." Su Xun refused to believe that the other party would blacklist her.
That left only the other possibility: the other party’s communicator was damaged.
This raised resentnt towards her own mother in Su Xun’s heart.
With the sole ans of communication between them damaged, reaching her mother would be difficult.
All she could do was wait for her mother to reach out.
Fortunately, the coordinates she had given were correct; the person would be staying in one place, so she wasn’t worried about them not finding the way.
