Originally a demon, only a taste of the mortal world’s common food, required a loop of Spiritual Power to consu it entirely upon entering the mouth.

No matter how much she ate, the possibility of gaining weight did not exist.

But Yu Jiaolan had a premonition several days ago that her Transformation Tribulation was imminent.

She stored all her power within her body, preparing for the Heavenly Tribulation.

In recent days, she barely even moved her form, the most she did was to lie prostrate in her cave, motionless.

If it were not for sensing the approach of her benefactor, and the exceptionally tantalizing fragrance, Yu Jiaolan would not have wanted to waste the energy to move.

But the aroma was too tempting, stirring her with desire.

Yu Jiaolan had slled more fragrant scents before, but she had never tasted them.

She had heard other demons who had already Transford say that food from the Mortal World was truly delectable.

Yet, her mother repeatedly reminded her that the impurities of the mortal food were too abundant, not to eat too much, or it would accumulate in the body and require energy to expel it, which was harmful and not beneficial to cultivation.

However, Yu Jiaolan had only intended to taste a little, yet she ended up opening a door to a new world, eating more and more, until she overate.

To think that even a demon could be overfed, it was clear how much food she had consud.

Yu Jiaolan felt slightly guilty, fortunate that her mother was unaware; otherwise, she would have scolded her.

Because she needed to accumulate power to confront the Transformation Heavenly Thunder, she did not dare to waste the slightest Spiritual Power on digesting the food in her stomach.

Yu Jiaolan thought it well, convinced that once the Transformation Heavenly Thunder passed, Heaven would bestow Shaping Power. Then, even if she turned into a two-hundred-pound fatty, she could sculpt her desired form.

She had no concerns whatsoever about failing her Transformation Tribulation.

Yet she never considered that the chronic ailnts of her original form would slow her down.

In truth, she had not slowed down much, but this tiny mistake, faced with the faster Heavenly Thunder, led to a mistake.

One step wrong, every step was wrong.

Yu Jiaolan couldn’t understand how such a tiny, tiny mistake could not only exhaust her to nearly failing her Transformation but also implicate her mother.

Her mother was just one step away from leaping through the Dragon Gate, yet now, due to her, it was unknown what kind of state she would need to achieve to regain her human form.

All her accumulated rit was lost in an instant.

What was even more infuriating was that although she had attained a human form, Heaven did not recognize it, and, in the end, although the Heavenly Thunder dissipated, it did not bestow Shaping Power.

As a result, the impurities of the food she had not digested the day before accumulated in her abdon, turning into a thick layer of fat.

Furthermore, her body was still suffused with demon energy; to cultivate the Righteous Path, she would need to expend more energy than others.

Before Yu Niang departed, she made her daughter promise again and again that she must perform more deeds of rit to compensate for her flaws.

Yu Jiaolan agreed on the spot, but upon seeing her own distressing form, her mother’s words were instantly forgotten.

Her mind was filled with annoyance.

She recalled the pregnant won she had seen in the Mortal World, which now resembled her appearance.

To reshape her form, she could only wait for the next Demon Tribulation in five hundred years, or if she accumulated enough rit to complete her Dragon Body, which was to successfully leap through the Dragon Gate.

But such an achievent was still too far away from her.

Roughly calculated, she would have to endure this appearance for several hundred years.

Thinking thusly, Yu Jiaolan felt a hint of resentnt towards her benefactor.

Had it not been for his feeding that day, she would not have succumbed to gluttony, resulting in this appearance.

However, Yu Jiaolan still tried to control her grudge, continuously building ntal fortitude.

"He is my benefactor, he is my benefactor..."

She chanted this hundreds of tis in her heart before she managed to suppress the dissatisfaction that was bubbling inside her.

The grace of saving a life...

Yu Jiaolan cast a deep glance at a certain area of the Su Residence and then turned and disappeared from where she stood.

The thick fog shrouding the Su Residence also quickly dissipated as if it had never been there.

The bright crescent moon erged from behind the clouds above.

In the entire Su Residence, everyone but Su Li remained unaware.

--------------

The next day, Jinbao just couldn’t help but keep looking at his young master’s face, for the smile there was too radiant.

Jinbao had served the young master for many years and this was the first ti he had seen such a vivid expression on his master’s face.

Eventually, he couldn’t resist opening his mouth to ask, "Young master, what has made you so happy this early in the morning?"

Accepting the warm towel Jinbao handed him and wiping his face, Su Li’s mood remained delightful as he tossed the towel into the basin in a parabolic arc, splashing droplets of water.

Su Li once again couldn’t help but grin and said, "Nothing much, just the thought of a fat carp makes laugh."

Jinbao couldn’t understand what was funny about a fat carp.

He automatically thought of the red fat carp in the lotus pond; other than finding it cute and pretty, he couldn’t see why it would be amusing.

But Su Li had yet to tell the whole story.

While a fat carp was cute and pretty, a plump, white, and chubby girl might reluctantly still be called cute.

However, the sight of a voluptuous woman with a pregnant belly of three months’ size was sowhat hard to describe.

Especially for a Carp Spirit who loved beauty, it was undoubtedly a major blow.

Su Li could never understand why, whether it was traditional dramas or folktales that spoke of demons, the thod they preferred for repaying gratitude often involved offering themselves.

Could there be no other way to express gratitude?

Like bringing good fortune, helping a benefactor fulfill their most urgent wish, or else bestowing upon them gold and jewels.

Su Li felt that any one of these thods of showing gratitude was stronger than a demon offering themselves.

After perusing the mories of the original owner, Su Li knew that so of the demons clamoring to offer themselves were definitely infatuated with the other’s looks.

If the benefactor were replaced with a flavorless, three-foot-tall man, the demons would not behave in this way.

Or perhaps offering oneself was the quickest way to express gratitude?

All these were Su Li’s own speculations, after all, compared to the original owner, the Eldest Prince, who suddenly changed the Carp Spirit’s mind, was definitely of a higher caliber in terms of appearance.

While Su Li was washing up calmly, the servant in charge of the lotus pond ca running in a panic to report.

In one night, the lotuses in the pond had turned black, and the red carp that the young master had favored was nowhere to be found.

The servant who watched over the lotus pond finished reporting and began trembling, bracing for the punishnt that was to co.

Even though the young master had a gentle temperant, the responsibility for losing the red carp was not small.

Everyone in the residence knew how much the young master liked that red carp.

Just yesterday, he complained that the carp was too thin and had thrown quite a lot of treats into the lotus pond.

"I see, let it be lost then, it’s just a carp after all. We can simply buy a few more and put them back in," he said.
