Capítulo 1123: Chapter 1127: Epidemic (Part 3)

Xu Yan Duo blad Su Li, hitting her twice, “You’ve always been strong-willed since you were a child, but when sothing happens, you never say anything, you just carry it all by yourself.”

“I’ve told you many tis already, I don’t mind, you don’t always have to worry about dragging down. We’re friends, aren’t we… If I hadn’t accidentally overheard a waiter on your floor secretly discussing it, how would I have known that you were in trouble? Such a big issue, and you didn’t even think to tell …”

Xu Yan Duo drooped her shoulders despondently, feeling both anxious and angry, not just because of her friend’s attitude, but also because of her own helplessness and inability to help.

The original owner grew up in an orphanage and was adopted when very young. She didn’t interact much with Xu Yan Duo until they t again in high school. Besides that, no one knew that these two seemingly distant girls were actually good friends.

Later, they both entered the entertainnt industry one after the other. Secretly, the original owner looked after this friend quite a bit.

Su Li: “Oh.”

Her cold attitude hurt Xu Yan Duo once again.

This girl’s tender heart seed to be extraordinarily fragile, more delicate than glass.

However, soon Xu Yan Duo lit up like Little Sun again, happily circling around Su Li.

“I’m so happy, you’re living right next door. I can co see you whenever I miss you, but it’s a pity we can only spend a few days together. Once my work here is done, I’ll have to leave.”

Xu Yan Duo chatted on endlessly, her chattering filling the silence completely.

As she spoke, she suddenly asked, “Do you still have any sleeping pills?”

Su Li rembered the small dicine bottle scattered on the floor earlier. It was filled with sleeping pills, but only the bottle was left; the last two pills were taken by the original owner last night.

Reflecting on the events, the original owner had a bit of red wine before going to sleep, then took sleeping pills, and as she prepared for bed, the poison took effect, resulting in death.

In her final monts of consciousness, the original owner wanted to call for help, but in her staggering steps, she accidentally knocked over the wine glass and the items on the desk.

Su Li glanced at Xu Yan Duo, who wore a bright, cloudless smile, feeling distracted, unclear about what she was thinking.

Xu Yan Duo hooked Su Li’s hand, “Xiao Li, what are you daydreaming about?”

Su Li: “Oh, no more, I finished the last two tablets last night.”

Hearing this, Xu Yan Duo seed to smile, and at a glance, nothing appeared different from before.

Xu Yan Duo: “I had insomnia last night, and tomorrow’s schedule is very important. I was thinking of asking you for a few pills so I could have a good sleep.”

It seems a lot of people were aware of the original owner’s severe insomnia.

“Cough, cough, cough…” Xu Yan Duo suddenly felt her throat itch, couldn’t help but cough a few tis, and even sneezed.

“Hey, the flu’s going around again, I hope I’m not catching a cold.” Xu Yan Duo hopped up like a bunny, “I’ll go back and take a hot shower. I can’t let myself fall ill; it would jeopardize my work.”

After Xu Yan Duo left, the room, which was previously bustling like it was filled with eight hundred ducks, suddenly turned cold and quiet, as if the temperature had dropped several degrees.

The lively girl was much liked by the original owner, who always felt rejuvenated after spending ti with her.

But Su Li only felt her eardrums aching. Xu Yan Duo sure loved to chatter; it was a wasted talent not to go into cody.

Lunch was brought to the room by Shao Hong.

The first thing she said when she entered was, “The police won’t be coming.”

Su Li’s chopsticks didn’t pause, it was sothing she had anticipated.

There was a hint of anxiety in Shao Hong’s expression, “I received reliable information that there’s an outbreak of an infectious disease in the hotel, and it will be locked down tomorrow. Hurry and eat so we can leave after.”

Shao Hong had quite an extensive network, and by her deanor, it seed the news had been confird.

Shaun Hong thought their departure was quick, but Huang Tao’s speed seed even faster.

He had a middle-aged man with him, engaging with the hotel staff.

But the negotiation process was neither smooth nor friendly.

Both the middle-aged man and Huang Tao wore expressions of obvious urgency.

Shao Hong glanced over, surprisingly ignoring Huang Tao this ti, without going over to greet him.

She led Su Li straight to the door, but they were stopped by the doorman.

Shao Hong: “What’s going on, why are you stopping us?”

Unlike Huang Tao, they held no suitcases, not even a wallet, just wearing coats and carrying a phone.

Before Shao Hong could argue further with the doorman, the hotel’s general manager appeared, politely explaining, “Apologies everyone, as there’s a case of an unknown virus infection in the hotel, everyone will be temporarily quarantined as direct and indirect contacts.”

Huang Tao, accompanied by the middle-aged man, approached and strained to contain his anger, “But you can’t just quarantine us all, disrupting our work. Can you compensate for the losses?”

The manager was in a difficult position, as he had no choice but to follow orders from above.

He continued trying to calm and advise, “The infected individual is one of our hotel staff. Perhaps you’ve had close contact with her, for your own safety, please stay and be quarantined here.”

“That way, you can receive help at the earliest.”

Shao Hong and the middle-aged man continued reasoning with the hotel manager, while Su Li casually followed along, watching the people passing through the lobby with interest.

Without exception, the hotel was not allowing anyone in or out. All guests attempting to leave were stopped.

More and more people, hearing the news, rushed down in a panic with their luggage, regardless of whether they had just checked in or were preparing to leave after several days, all now blocked at the front desk demanding to check out and leave.

Seeing the situation about to spiral out of control, with the crowd about to break through the hotel’s security barrier towards the exit, a gunshot rang out from outside.

The noisy scene instantly fell silent, and soon, the guests scread and scattered.

A path was cleared at the entrance; stretching her neck, Su Li could see a row of four jeeps completely blocking the entrance path.

One by one, fully ard personnel in protective suits, masks, and goggles disembarked.

Behind them, similarly equipped, but with special personnel carrying weapons at their waists, followed closely.

The earlier gunshot ca from that team of personnel.

Su Li sat nonchalantly on the lobby sofa, propping her chin and daydreaming….

Everyone else was terrified, even the hotel’s general manager appeared helpless, clearly caught off guard by the developnt.

After all personnel from the vehicles entered the hotel, the main door was sealed shut, with two guards at the entry.
