Harlan Jas paused, his gaze instinctively turning toward Heartbewildering Pathist.
"Is that you?"
Heartbewildering Pathist explained with a wry smile, "They ca asking for directions. Seeing they were young, I simply drugged and attacked them. As a result, they caught on, and here we are."
After hearing this, Harlan Jas wished he could kill Heartbewildering Pathist.
This guy was careless, provoking a strong enemy. If you could die alone, that would be fine, why drag into it?
Knowing the cause of the other party’s actions, Harlan Jas hurriedly shirked responsibility: "All the interception and attacks were done by Faelorn Baker and his junior brothers. I wasn’t involved at all. It’s none of my business. Seek revenge on him!"
Heartbewildering Pathist chuckled bitterly, "Uncle, stop struggling. In Black Tower City, we all started with such deeds. There’s no one good here. Who dares to say they’ve never been involved in these matters? Even without taking direct action, didn’t we still benefit?"
Harlan Jas gritted his teeth and glanced at Heartbewildering Pathist, then changed his tone to one of humility: "Even if I did have a part, at least I didn’t offend the two of you, right? I’m willing to pay a big price to redeem myself, surely I won’t disappoint you both."
Carson Flores smiled faintly, "If I destroy all of Black Tower City, wouldn’t everything be mine?"
Harlan Jas’s pupils suddenly contracted, "You want to destroy Black Tower City?"
Carson Flores nodded, "Yes, are you willing to lend a hand?"
Harlan Jas’s eyes lit up, "If I help you, will you spare ?"
Carson Flores said calmly, "Abolish your cultivation, and you’ll keep your life."
Harlan Jas’s expression changed drastically, "How is that different from killing ?"
Heartbewildering Pathist said leisurely from the side, "Yes, Uncle, have so spine, don’t surrender!"
Filled with hatred, Harlan Jas turned his head to glare at Heartbewildering Pathist, "You’ve agreed?"
Heartbewildering Pathist nodded decisively, "A bad life is better than a good death!"
Harlan Jas was helpless.
Is this even a choice?
No choice at all!
"Fine!"
...
Soon, two beams of golden light streaked across the sky, arriving above Black Wind Valley.
"Mr. Jas?"
Heartbewildering Pathist flew up from the black mist, "Two Uncles, please follow !"
The two elders looked surprised at Heartbewildering Pathist, "Faelorn Baker, you’re here too?"
Heartbewildering Pathist chuckled, "I’m the one who discovered this place. Uncle is occupied, so I’m here to guide you."
"Alright!"
"Lead the way!"
Heartbewildering Pathist led the two elders to the front of the Ethereal Pagoda, fooled them a bit, and then took them into the Ethereal Pagoda.
...
Black Tower City.
City Lord Zaldric Goodwin was sitting cross-legged in a Cave Mansion, ditating. Suddenly, sensing sothing, he opened his eyes.
Zaldric Goodwin gestured, and a light projection flew into the cave, landing in his hand—it was a Jade Slip.
Zaldric Goodwin grabbed the Jade Slip, scanned it with his Divine Sense, stood up, face puzzled.
Ancient Tower?
Tower World?
Need helpers?
Such matters, he would proactively inform ?
Zaldric Goodwin knew the people of the sect well; they’d keep any good stuff to themselves. Offering it to others, would that even happen?
Even if he’s the City Lord, so what?
Three people have gone, and they still can’t handle it, so they’re forced to ask for help?
Zaldric Goodwin flew up, heading toward the mountain gate.
Go see what’s really happening.
Not long after, Zaldric Goodwin reached Black Wind Valley and unexpectedly saw his disciple Faelorn Baker.
"Faelorn Baker, what are you doing here?"
Heartbewildering Pathist smiled wryly, "Drafted for labor by Uncle Jas."
Zaldric Goodwin frowned, "What’s going on exactly?"
Heartbewildering Pathist pointed toward Black Wind Valley, "There’s an Ancient Tower below, with a world of its own inside. Uncle wants to subdue that tower but to no avail. Since I’m nearby, he called over. Afterward, he summoned two uncles, still no success..."
Zaldric Goodwin sneered, "Finally thought of ?"
Heartbewildering Pathist smiled wryly without responding. The intrigue among elders was sothing a junior like him was better off not interrupting.
"Lead the way!"
The two descended to the depths of Black Wind Valley, seeing the open entrance of the Ethereal Pagoda.
"They’re busy inside, so I was sent out to guide Master..."
Zaldric Goodwin asked, "Busy with what?"
"There’s a Core Array inside the tower. They’re working on breaking it, can’t risk getting distracted, or else all efforts would co to naught..."
Zaldric Goodwin looked at the Ancient Tower ahead, but his body didn’t move, "There’s a complete world inside this tower?"
Heartbewildering Pathist replied, "Yes, mountains, rivers, everything’s there, very vast!"
Zaldric Goodwin, with hands clasped behind him, "Go inside and tell him to co out and see . Things need to be clarified before I help. Otherwise, it’ll be more troubleso later on."
Heartbewildering Pathist whispered, "The three uncles are breaking the formation, they likely can’t spare a mont."
Zaldric Goodwin still didn’t move, "He’s the one who asked for . At least I should see him and clarify things. If he doesn’t show up, I’m not daring enough to enter this tower. Who knows what’s inside?"
