The days that followed were a blur of strategic etings and intelligence gathering. Evelyn worked tirelessly to trace the origins of the attacks, while Marcus led recon teams into the field to investigate key sites where The Shroud's influence was strongest. Every clue they found led to another dead end, as if they were chasing shadows.
One evening, Alyssa sat alone, studying the global map projected on the wall. Her thoughts drifted back to Adrienne's final words: The Collapse is inevitable. Was this what she ant? A slow, calculated unraveling of the world's systems?
She was snapped out of her thoughts when Evelyn entered the room, a grim look on her face. "Alyssa, I think I've found sothing."
Alyssa straightened, her pulse quickening. "What is it?"
Evelyn tapped on her tablet, pulling up a series of encrypted ssages. "There's a pattern in the attacks a sequence we didn't catch before. They're targeting sothing specific: the global satellite network."
Alyssa's eyes widened. "They're going after the satellites? Why?"
Evelyn's fingers flew across the screen. "If they take control of enough satellites, they could disrupt global communications, navigation systems, military operations. They'd essentially blind the world."
Alyssa's mind raced. "How long do we have?"
"Not long. They've already started. But we still have a chance to stop them."
