Yuan Bao does not agree with Cui Lai’s thod.

Firstly, this plan is too hasty, and secondly, it’s inherently unreliable.

It feels like a stalling tactic!

However, this stalling tactic can be easily broken by the other party.

"Jiaojiao, if you’re going to put it like that, I have no solution!"

On the way to see Yuan Bao, Cui Lai was pondering a way to break the deadlock. The thod she ca up with was for Yuan Bao to quickly get engaged. Once Yuan Bao’s engagent was settled, not even the emperor could change anything.

But now, her idea was rejected by Yuan Bao.

"Think it over again!"

Yuan Bao looked seriously at Cui Lai.

Cui Lai tilted her head and thought for a mont, then quietly said, "Jiaojiao, I still think this thod is the best!"

"Even though you say you can break off the engagent later, as long as you’re engaged, even if the other party backs out, you won’t have to marry any prince!"

"After all, you’ve been engaged before!"

"This is self-sabotage!"

Yuan Bao’s eyes widened, realizing another benefit of Cui Lai’s idea.

This way, her reputation would be tarnished, so neither Emperor Xia nor Imperial Concubine Yi would entertain any thoughts about her anymore.

After all, how could a woman who has been engaged be worthy of a prince?

"Little fairy, you truly are my lucky star!"

Excited, Yuan Bao hugged Cui Lai and planted several kisses on her face.

"Ah, ah... Jiaojiao, you’re kissing again, your saliva is all over my face!"

Cui Lai felt a bit uncomfortable after being kissed several tis by Yuan Bao.

She loved spending ti with Yuan Bao, but so of Yuan Bao’s actions were quite hard to accept.

Just like just now, Cui Lai really couldn’t get used to it.

"Hehe, I’m just so happy!"

Yuan Bao giggled, "Once I resolve this issue, I’ll definitely thank you properly!"

"No need for that!"

With a smile, Cui Lai softly said, "Jiaojiao, I won’t stay longer, I should head back!"

"What are you going back for?"

Yuan Bao grabbed Cui Lai’s hand, "Don’t go back today, we sisters haven’t seen each other for a long ti, don’t you have anything else you want to tell ?"

"Let tell you..."

Just as Yuan Bao was about to share so amusing stories from her recent days with Cui Lai, she heard Yuan Shouqian’s loud voice in the courtyard.

"Big sister, is Fourth Sister here?"

Fourth Sister naturally referred to Cui Lai.

Cui Lai, the fairy herself, was more favored by Yuan Shouqian than Yuan Bao was.

Every ti Cui Lai ca to visit Yuan Bao, Yuan Shouqian would quickly appear.

In fact, Yuan Shouqian had ntioned to Ruan Wan several tis that when he grew up, he wanted to marry Cui Lai, even repeatedly asking Ruan Wan to discuss it with Cui Lai’s parents.

As a result, Yuan Shouqian had been scolded by Yuan Yindi many tis.

But unfortunately, the little rascal refused to change his ways, set on Cui Lai.

"Fourth Sister!"

Yuan Shouqian quickly charged into the room, looking delightedly at Cui Lai, who was sitting with Yuan Bao.

"Shouqian!"

Cui Lai greeted Yuan Shouqian politely upon seeing him.

"Fourth Sister, how many days are you staying this ti?"

"Let tell you, I’ve beco quite impressive now!"

...

Blah blah blah, Yuan Shouqian completely took over Yuan Bao’s position, talking incessantly with Cui Lai.

"Big brother, haven’t you talked too much?"

Yuan Bao looked at her younger brother, whose deanor resembled a lovesick puppy attracted to Cui Lai’s beauty, and felt an urge to give him a few slaps.

Even though Cui Lai wasn’t a domineering lady of a wealthy family, Yuan Shouqian’s puppy love behavior and the way he seed to forget about his sister made Yuan Bao feel he deserved a good dose of social reality.

"Big sister, I’m not talking too much!"

Yuan Shouqian didn’t think he was saying too much.

He always felt that his ti spent with Fourth Sister was too short.

"Forget it, I can’t be bothered with you!"

In the end, Yuan Bao decided it wasn’t worth wasting ti on her little brother.

With this ti, couldn’t she be doing sothing else?

As for the little fairy Cui Lai, if her little brother actually managed to win her over, it would actually be quite a good thing.

Perhaps she should help out a few more tis?

"Lai’er, I need to go talk to my little uncle and Ruan about what you ntioned earlier, so before I get back, you play with Shouqian, alright?"

"Jiaojiao, don’t worry, I know what to do!"

Cui Lai wasn’t just any clueless girl from a small family, she ca from one of Daxia’s top noble families, and she was aware of many things.

After all, who you spend ti with influences you greatly.

"Big brother, take good care of Fourth Sister, got it?"

"Got it, got it, big sister, don’t worry!"

Yuan Shouqian patted his chest in assurance.

At this point, he didn’t really understand romantic feelings between n and won. The reason he clamored about wanting to marry Cui Lai was simply because he found her appearance appealing.

What they call ’love at first sight’ is really just attraction to beauty.

Yuan Shouqian’s situation wasn’t much different.

If Cui Lai didn’t have her current looks, this little kid wouldn’t even be willing to speak one extra word with her.

...

Yuan Bao quickly went out of the room to find her little uncle and Ruan.

"The twenty-ninth prince?"

"Soone from the Cui family ca to propose?"

After hearing Yuan Bao’s introduction of the situation, Yuan Yindi’s first reaction was that it was incredibly absurd, like absurdity’s mother opening the door to absurdity itself—truly outrageous!

"Jiaojiao, do you think this is believable?"

"Of course, it’s believable!"

Yuan Bao had no doubt about the truth of Cui Lai’s words.

Unless Cui Lai’s stepmother and sisters-in-law tead up to set her or plot against her little uncle.

Realizing this possibility, Yuan Bao quickly voiced her speculation.

And both Yuan Yindi and Ruan Wan were taken aback by Yuan Bao’s conjecture.

This possibility seed quite significant.

"You think this is believable, so how do you suggest we turn the situation from passive to active?"

Yuan Yindi looked at Yuan Bao, waiting for her answer.

Yuan Bao pondered for a mont and said, "Uncle, Lai’er told that I could get engaged first!"

"This way, even if the person I’m engaged to calls it off, as soone who’s been engaged once, I couldn’t enter the palace, nor could I marry a prince!"

"I think this approach is worth considering!"

Every situation has its pros and cons.

After all, nothing stays beautiful or perfect forever.

Though having been engaged once might tarnish her reputation, reputation itself had little to do with Yuan Bao.

One person’s sweet honey is another’s poison!

"Wife, what do you think?"

Yuan Yindi didn’t respond to Yuan Bao imdiately but looked at Ruan Wan.

Ruan Wan blinked and said, "I think it’s a good idea too!"

"Of course, if we do this, Yuan Bao’s future marriage prospects might face more obstacles!"
