"Dad, I’m not reluctant!"

Pandi looked at his father with a face full of bitterness.

Emotionally, he was indeed a little reluctant. But Pandi was not an irrationally emotional creature, he knew how to weigh his choices.

He now had two sons; he couldn’t sacrifice one for the other.

What’s more, he might have other children in the future.

"These things, you think them over yourself!"

Old Yuan glanced at his eldest son aningfully, "It’s best if you can figure it out, but if you can’t, it’s no big deal."

"Alright, you go back and talk things over with your wife!"

Old Yuan waved his hand, dismissing Pandi out.

After Pandi left, Mrs. Zeng looked at Old Yuan and slowly asked, "Husband, what are you really thinking?"

"I’m not thinking much!"

Old Yuan’s face instantly fell.

Abandoning his eldest grandson, and possibly even his eldest son, his mood certainly wasn’t as indifferent as it seed.

If he had a choice, he wouldn’t want to abandon any of them.

But did he have a choice?

People can be foolish, can be clumsy, and can be poor, but they must recognize themselves, know their own worth, and do what their status allows them to do.

Many troubles and pains in this world arise because people fail to recognize themselves and attempt things unsuitable for them.

If troubles and pain are unavoidable, then one must choose the lesser of two evils.

Seeing her husband’s anguished look, Mrs. Zeng didn’t press further.

...

Pandi returned to his room and saw Mrs. Li talking with their eldest son, looking equally troubled.

"Husband, you need to talk so sense into our eldest!"

Seeing Pandi return, Mrs. Li imdiately called out.

Pandi just glanced at Mrs. Li and then sat down in a chair, saying in a deep voice, "If I’d known it would co to this, what was the point back then?"

If it weren’t for Mrs. Li’s instigation, Yuan Shougui might not have ended up like this.

But pursuing that now held no aning.

Because, Pandi also didn’t know if the result might have been different if Mrs. Li had initially opposed Pandi’s entanglent with Sheng Xueyi.

However, Mrs. Li didn’t stop it; instead, she egged it on, even becoming an accomplice. Now that things had co to this, Mrs. Li inevitably had to bear so responsibility.

"Husband, I really know I’m wrong!"

"But, are you really going to ignore our eldest?"

Mrs. Li looked anxiously at Pandi.

Pandi chuckled and said, "How should I manage him?"

"Ask him if he listens to what I say!"

How Pandi wished his eldest son would turn back, but it was useless.

Yuan Shougui was utterly blinded, his mind filled with Sheng Xueyi.

"Mom, don’t trouble Dad anymore!"

Yuan Shougui looked up, "Staying here is my own decision!"

"Xue’er has no family left. If I also abandon her, then she’d be too miserable!"

"Idiot!"

Hearing Yuan Shougui’s heartfelt words, Pandi could only think, how did he raise such a brainless fool?

The child of the Yuan Family, to end up being such a kind-hearted young man, is this sothing to be grateful for?

"You consider that Sheng girl your family, but who are you to her?"

"Moreover, she’s the daughter of a wealthy family, not worrying about food or drink. Compared to her, you’re still living hand to mouth, often going hungry. And here you are pitying her?"

"Were you kicked in the head by a donkey?"

Pandi truly didn’t expect his son to be so unfocused.
