Xi Luo still had half a sandwich in her mouth, exaggeratedly scratching her ear, "What? I didn’t catch that."

"Stop pretending." Zong Zhan slowly got up, his knee bent as he sat on the bed, "You heard it."

Xi Luo swallowed the sandwich, her slightly downcast eyes rippling with emotion, "Is your back healed?"

"Not healed, but it doesn’t stop from picking you up."

Zong Zhan’s appearance was already of the tough-guy type, his serious deanor more convincing.

Xi Luo wiped her hands with a napkin, motioning with her mouth towards his lower back, "Lift your shirt and let see."

"Xi Luo, answer the question." Zong Zhan slung his arm over his knee, his posture sowhat leisurely, "Will you agree or not, give a straightforward answer."

Xi Luo’s personality just couldn’t handle this kind of provocation.

She smirked as she pushed her chair away, giving Zong Zhan a deep look, "You’re really sothing."

The man didn’t try to stop her, yet a ripple arose in his eyes, quickly returning to calm.

Did she leave in a huff just like that?

The gradually fading footsteps in the hallway seed to imply that Xi Luo wouldn’t return.

Zong Zhan turned over and got out of bed, walking to the window to light a cigarette.

Was it too rash?

Or is it... she actually has no other thoughts about him?

The man supported his waist, pondering for a long ti, letting out a self-mocking chuckle.

The wound on his lower back was indeed not fully healed, personally picking her up from the nightclub last night and then carrying the sleeping woman to bed, all the fuss made his lumbar spine begin to ache faintly again.

Unfortunately, that woman has no heart, no matter how hard he tries to warm her.

Zong Zhan smoked deeply, the swirling smoke entering his lungs, the taste sowhat irritating.

Just then, the man absorbed in his own thoughts perked up his ears, sensitively hearing footsteps approaching from afar.

Slow and unhurried, it was a very familiar rhythm.

The footsteps paused for two seconds at the door, then the woman’s perfu drifted over.

"Snap—"

A bank card was tossed onto the windowsill, Xi Luo crossing her arms and raising her chin high, "The password is six ones."

Zong Zhan didn’t turn around, his gaze landing on the bank card, his eyes filled with layers of amusent.

He picked up the bank card with two fingers, glancing back, "Made up your mind?"

"It’s a mutual desire, why waste ti thinking?" Xi Luo gestured at the bank card as if it was only natural, "One year first, I’ll renew regularly."

Zong Zhan didn’t ask how much was in it, instead, he naturally slipped the bank card into his pocket, "Sign an agreent?"

"Don’t be shaless, what kind of agreent for a kept relationship, I’ll kick you out when I’m tired of it."

Zong Zhan had a smile on his lips, but he pretended to frown in distress, "No need to define the scope of services?"

Xi Luo paused as she turned, her gaze brazenly sweeping over him, "Do yourself a favor and bear in mind that I’m the employer. If I tell you to go east, you can’t go north, south, west, or center."

"Sounds like I’m at a disadvantage." Zong Zhan said while touching his pocket, seemingly ready to take out the bank card, "Who knows if you rich ladies have any bad habits?"

"Even if there are bad habits, you’re not up to satisfying them." Xi Luo mused, rubbing her chin, "You know Plato?"

All expression disappeared from Zong Zhan’s handso face in an instant, "Plato what?"

"You really are ignorant." Xi Luo didn’t want to discuss this any further, considering it concerned male dignity, "Quit the nonsense, lie down and let see your back."

Zong Zhan closed his eyes, resisting the urge to throttle her, turned to face the windowsill and continued smoking, "Just look."

Xi Luo glared unhappily at his back, this man was taking advantage of her affection to behave arrogantly, wasn’t he?

"Didn’t you want to see?" Zong Zhan urged, frowning as he glanced back when she didn’t move, "If you’re not looking, I’m going to sleep."

Xi Luo regretted it.

Did she arrange for herself to keep a demanding grand master?

Suppressing the urge to kick him, Xi Luo lifted the shirt at Zong Zhan’s lower back, only to see the bandages stained with a faint red.

She composed herself, knitted her brows, and carefully peeled back the bandage, seeing the edges of the pierced wounds faintly whitening, "Looks like it’s infected, have you been in contact with water recently?"

Little White Dragon, who happened to reach the doorway, silently retreated upon hearing this.

Because he heard that iron-willed man assertively reply with two words, "No, I haven’t."

If Miss M knew that Third Master showered every night, she’d probably lose it.

Xi Luo was usually emotionally reserved, but she couldn’t bring herself to be harsh with Zong Zhan.

Just over ten minutes later, a doctor was called into the mansion to treat him.

Ultimately, Zong Zhan ended up being confined by Xi Luo to lie in bed and recover until fully healed.

From that day on, the two of them hit it off and formally established an unusual relationship.

...

Two days later, Xi Luo sat in the living room, glaring at Bai Yan with hostility, "With so many people in the Fla Alliance, and you even have the Twelve Zodiac Signs, why must I be the one to go?"

Bai Yan’s ankle was crossed over his knee, casually blowing a smoke ring, "You can admit you can’t bear to leave Zong Zhan."

Xi Luo candidly admitted, "I can’t bear to. Send soone else..."

"Fussy!" Bai Yan dropped his long leg, leaned forward to flick the ash, "I’m only sending you away for three days, not three years. If you’re worried, I’ll hire two female nurses to take care of him properly."

Xi Luo remained expressionless, "Isn’t this mansion a bit too tall? Should I help flatten it by two floors?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Bai Yan’s phone rang.

He picked up his phone, waving to Xi Luo, "No discussion, keep whining and I’ll throw Zong Zhan out."

Xi Luo shot him a resentful look, got up and went upstairs.

anwhile, Bai Yan answered the call, his tone becoming considerably softer, "Calling in broad daylight, it really is rare."

"Xi Luo is still in Scarlet City?" The voice was as light as a breeze, unmistakably Li Qiao.

Bai Yan responded, picking up a bottle of mineral water from the coffee table with a smile, "She’s still here for the mont, any instructions?"

"Secretly assign soone to protect her, soone in Myanmar wants to make a move on her."

Bai Yan suddenly raised his head, his expression slightly solemn, "Reasons?"

Li Qiao fell silent for a few seconds, "It’s related to the Fla Alliance’s five senses; it’s her own issue, make sure to arrange it."

"Alright, what kind of background does the other party have?"

"Rumors say it’s an international cri syndicate." Li Qiao leaned against the chair back, instructing lightly, "Don’t ask too much, if she wants to tell you, she will."

Bai Yan licked his teeth, "Does Zong Zhan know about this? He asked last night to figure out how to send Xi Luo away, and I just told her she’s going to Myanmar this afternoon for business."

"Brother Zong San knows. If he asked you to move Xi Luo, just comply. Minmin will et her in Myanmar."

Bai Yan clutched the mineral water, half-smiling, "Comply? Now anyone can just boss around whenever they damn well please?"

Li Qiao chuckled softly, "I’m going to Myanmar at the end of the month, care to et?"

Bai Yan chuckled, "What date are you coming? I’ll pick you up."

"No need. Shaoyan will make the arrangents, wait for my notification, that’ll be all."

Before Bai Yan could reply, the call was disconnected.

He looked at the phone screen, cursing with a laugh, "Dumped for soone else, heartless jerk."
