mories of Alice’s past life refused to accompany her normally when she was reborn but they were there, sowhere.

They just needed ti to surface. And at that mont... A mory, a terrible mory, surfaced in her mind, causing her terrible pain in her head and making her eyes bleed in place of tears.

She stared at the Chairman and bit her lower lip.

She didn’t know why he was in her mories but the fact that he, as well as several other people, bowed at her, thanking her for what she did, only to end up swallowed whole by a demon and right in front of her too. It haunted her.

It haunted her past self. That mory was dreadful.

And even if she did not recall all of it, she could tell from the feelings she has currently that that was a life-changing point in her life.

And a mory she wished never to rember.

Ah, that was why Alice felt so uneasy and so uncomfortable when they bowed in appreciation. Though she did not rember it, her body still rembered it.

She placed her left hand on the left side of her face. The emotions that she did not even rember flooded in her head and instead of tears, blood rolled down from her eyes.

She looked at the blood and exclaid,

"This shit is crazy."

They were mories. Just mories. It hadn’t happened in the present so there was no need to be shaken up by it.

But... Just what kind of things did she pass through in her previous life?

"Miss Alice," Mark suddenly swept her off her feet. "You’re not okay. I’ll get you to a healer right away."

"It seems her body is feeling the strain from fighting monsters in the tower for so long." Devon explained and turned to the chairman. "Please allow Miss Alice to get well-rested before standing in front of the council again."

Alice shook her head and said,

"No, I think you’re mistaking-"

"It’s alright, Miss Alice," Mark said. "I’ll make sure you’re well rested."

"But-"

"No ti to waste." He interrupted her once more and looked up at the Chairman, waiting for the conclusion.

The chairman, taking the situation with all severity, nodded and said,

"Yes, please. It’s not good to leave the hero of the world neglected."

’The hero of the what-now?’

"Miss Alice, we can pick up from here another ti. And I’ll make sure to relay the final decision of the council through your jailer, whom you will be under his care going forward." He concluded but the only thing Alice got out of that was,

"There’s a next ti?"

But it was almost like she was talking to the wall since no one was listening to her.

There was no severity anywhere. She was fine. Perfectly fine. How could she make them see that?

*Why do you even bother?* Leo asked. *Would you like to stay and be questioned by the council for much longer?*

’No, but...’ she folded her arms. ’I just hate it when they’re ignoring . Why are they even concerned anyway? It’s not like I’m dying.’

"Pardon , Miss Alice." Devon said and she watched him take out a handkerchief from one of the pockets in the coat she was wearing, which reminded her that she was wearing his coat all along.

With the moist handkerchief, he cleaned the blood from her face.

’It’s moist.’

She could’ve sworn it was dry when it was in the coat.

She had no idea Devon had used his water elental ability to wet the handkerchief enough for it to be moist but not so much that it would drip.

*Well, at least this guy’s not ignoring you.* Leo said, almost sounding sarcastic but Alice fixed her eyes on Devon who was paying keen attention as he cleaned up her face.

Mark, who was holding Alice in his arms, looked at Alice staring at Devon, and then at Devon who looked like he had only pure intentions, helping her.

But even while knowing he had pure intentions, he couldn’t stop feeling that he was too close to Alice.

Devon, after cleaning Alice’s face till there was not a single spot of blood left, shifted his gaze to her eyes.

Maybe he could clean out the blood that was stuck on her eyelashes but the mont his eyes fell on hers, he discovered her right eye glint gold.

He blinked but it was gone. Her eyes were back to normal.

’Was it my imagination?’ he thought.

"Are you done with it?" Mark asked and Devon looked up at him.

"Ah, yes." He said. "Will you take her now?" He asked and Mark nodded.

"I would like to trouble you to help teleport us back. I know it’s bold of but I just want to get her a comfortable bed to sleep in as fast as possible."

’Oh, Mark, you know too well.’ Alice thought, subconsciously snuggling in his arms with her eyes closed and they both looked down at her.

Mark sighed.

"As you can see, she’s already mistaking for a bed." He said, and Alice paused.

’Eh? Did I do that?’

*Alice, be a little self-aware.* Leo said.

’I know, I know.’ Then, she noticed the Chairman approaching. "Boss, put down for a sec." She said.

"Why? You’re not in good condition." He said, so seriously that she couldn’t even refute.

’Ugh, he’s becoming so stubborn.’

The chairman stopped in front of them and they bowed their heads at him.

"We’ve decided to continue the eting at another scheduled date." He said.

’Uh, when did they conclude that?’ Alice thought.

"So, the eting is adjourned. Please do not mind this inconsiderate old man and retire. Get a good rest." He said but Alice ended up staring at him. "Is there sothing on my face?" He asked but Alice shook her head.

"No, I was just thinking."

"Would you mind sharing your thoughts?"

"Well, you’re so kind." Alice said. "Not intimidating at all."

Both guys, Mark and Devon looked at Alice like she had said the most scandalous thing on the planet.

He wasn’t intimidating? And what gave her that idea?

Adolf Reinhart was a man feared by all. He had the most intimidating presence and even when he tried to suppress it, one would get chills once they walked past him.

And Alice just said he wasn’t intimidating in the slightest.

Was that how powerful people’s thoughts worked?

Devon, who was S-class, could still feel he was very inferior, yet he still got chills standing in front of Adolf.

Adolf suddenly burst out laughing.

"I’m glad it seems so to you." He said. "At least there’s soone on the planet who doesn’t find intimidating. This must be the power of a Legendary class."

Ah, he said it.

It was like he officially recognized her as the strongest without saying it.

Recognizing her as a legendary class that was far greater than any S class was very astonishing.

"Well, I noticed you were the one with the strongest aura after walking in." She said. "But it doesn’t change the fact that you’re nice. Your grandkids must really love you, gramps."

"Haha, unfortunately, my grandson hates ." He said, and Alice paused. Way to burst that bubble, Alice. "But I’m glad you look at as nothing more than a grampa."
