The Fate Of The World Is In My Hands, But All I Want To Do Is Eat! Chapter 423: Summer, where are you?
After Sumr left and Adolf had gotten the picture that she had left for a man whom they couldn’t even find any information on, it was as if they had disappeared out of existence.
They searched everywhere and tried to track them to other countries but there was no single trace of them.
It was almost impossible for such a thing to happen but he concluded that they had gone into hiding to avoid disturbance from the outside world.
But this made Adolf worried. Could he really trust his precious daughter with a man who had no identity?
He grew worried over the days but he couldn’t even do anything about it and simply pray for her safety.
They say no news was good news, right?
So, he wished that hearing no negative news was a sign that his dear daughter was living well.
During these days, Philip grew tempered and always threw a tantrum, demanding for his mother and believing the rumors that he had sent his mother away because she refused his command.
He was so mad at his grandfather that they never saw eye to eye. Even if Adolf told him that his mother left on his own, he wouldn’t believe it. No one would believe that a mother left her child and perfect life for no reason.
He couldn’t even try to explain to the young boy because if he eventually understood, he would be so heartbroken and resent his mother. He didn’t want Philip to resent his mother who simply chased after her own happiness.
It was selfish from other people’s viewpoint but from his... He completely understood.
After all, he had watched her as she toiled day and night, trying to perfect projects and pouring her all into accomplishnts that would completely shut up the people who kept questioning her for being a female.
It was a life that choked Sumr. She was barely breathing at that point, looking ahead to a goal that seed near but was so far away.
He couldn’t do it to either the mother or the child, so he took the bla. He took the hatred for serval years.
Until a day ca when he got a call from an unknown number.
The other person did not speak and simply breathed softly as if finding it hard to speak out words.
At that mont, his eyes widened as he realized who it could’ve been.
"Sumr?" He called right away and Sumr, calling her father for the first ti in 12 years, couldn’t hold her tears and covered her mouth, sobbing.
This also brought tears to Adolf’s eyes. To think Sumr would call him.
He hoped nothing happened. She wasn’t hurt or anything, right?
"Sumr, where are you? I will co to you right away." He said but Sumr shook her head.
"I’m fine." Sumr spoke.
They were the first words Adolf was hearing from his beloved daughter for the first ti in years and this caused the tears in Adolf’s eyes to roll down.
"You’re still such a worrywart, father."
"Oh, Sumr." Adolf didn’t even know what else to say. His daughter. His darling daughter. Just where had she been all these years? What had she been up to all this ti?
"Father, I would like to et up." She said. "I need to show you sothing very special to ."
"What’s that?"
"It’s a secret." She laughed gently. "How..." She was hesitant but asked regardless. "How is Philip?"
"He’s doing fine. He’s growing up well, Sumr." Adolf said.
"I know I’ve not been a good daughter or a good mother to him. I don’t really have the right to ask about him but I’m glad he’s doing well." Sumr said, her voice filled with relief. "I’m so glad you’re doing fine as well, father. How is Stella?"
"She’s beco a fine woman." Adolf said. "She got married a while back and has a daughter."
Hearing the word ’daughter’ Sumr paused for a while and then smiled.
"A daughter, huh? It suits her. I hope she’s happy."
"She’s doing great. Where do you want to et, Sumr? You can co ho. Our doors are always open. This is still your ho." Adolf said and Sumr nodded.
"Yes, that’s exactly like you. Even though I failed to et your expectations, you still have your arms spread wide open, ready to receive ." This brought her to tears. "I don’t know how I ca to deserve having a father like you."
"Don’t say that." Adolf said. "You’re more wonderful as a daughter than I am as a father. I..." His gaze slowly fell down sadly. "I was a father who did not realize the kind of burdens you were carrying until it was too late."
"Well, that’s the past. Let’s et up sowhere outside the house. You can also bring Philip and Stella." She said. "I’d like to see them."
Hearing this, Adolf imdiately realized she had no plans of returning. Well, there’s no rush. As long as they get to see her, they may be able to convince her.
"Alright, sumr. I look forward to seeing you."
"Yes, father."
But they never got to see each other.
On that day that Adolf had promised Philip he would et his mother, they did not et Stella. They waited for a while and then got the ergency warning about the strange monsters that were appearing.
Monsters flying in the sky, roaming the earth and destroying everything. It was chaos.
But Adolf was more worried about Sumr.
He tried calling her, but little did he know that she had been swallowed by one of those monsters, and the daughter she never ntioned stood there, watching in horror as she had her whole world taken from her.
The place they were also got attacked but through Adolf’s strong determination to protect his family, he was given strength. He was one of the first to receive the system update and was granted power based on his determination not to save his life but to save his family.
He tried to find her after the chaos settled but there was no contact.
It was as if Sumr had disappeared once again but this ti, he could not stop worrying because of how the world had changed. The world was no longer as they knew it. There were way too many dangers.
And to this day, he had no idea what had happened to Sumr.
