Sumr Reinhart was a very warm-hearted person. Kind and beautiful. She was the pride of the Reinhart household. And of course, even though Adolf Reinhart did not have a son or an heir, he did not complain.

Why would he when he had such a competent daughter like Sumr?

His wife died giving birth to Stella but it did not stop him from showering his love on her.

He loved both his daughters so much and he was very protective. Even without their mother, the family still felt whole.

He was a businessman. He was a tycoon with a long family line of successful businessn, and at that ti, his na was, of course, all over the news.

He was the pride of the country as well.

And this was a burden Sumr would have to carry on as well so he sotis worried.

He hoped she would have a normal life but he couldn’t ask for too much because she had grown up with the thought of one day taking on the family and his business. She had been preparing all her life.

So, it might be too much if he suddenly said she should leave it all behind and experience the life of a normal woman for once.

Sumr was the kind of person who attracted all sorts of people, the good and bad and while she kept the good people near, she knew how to take out the trash very well.

She was smart. Very smart to the point that everyone praised her for being such a worthy successor.

She was also close to her younger sister.

Sumr had never asked anything from Adolf. Maybe it was because she was very competent and got everything by herself but it was a bit worrying.

Adolf wished she could at least be his daughter around him and not just a business magnate.

Then, he noticed that Sumr began to smile less. That beautiful smile on her lips slowly disappeared as she focused most of her ti trying to solidify her position as the heir since there were a lot of uprising controversies.

She wanted to give them no reason to nitpick.

And then, the issue of marriage ca up. She was 25 and still unmarried. How would she take on the business if she did not settle her own personal life?

"Father, I’m going to get married." Sumr said but Adolf felt it was too much. That cold expression on her face that made it so evident that she wasn’t doing this out of her own will made him angry and annoyed.

Why did she want to ruin her life like this?

"I’ll find a competent man, father. So, don’t worry about it." She said but he caught her arm.

"Sumr," he called, looking into her eyes worriedly. "You don’t have to do this."

She didn’t have to try and et expectations. The company was hers either way.

Sumr stared at her father and then a small smile played on her lips.

Maybe it was because she felt relieved that her father was not one of those people who wanted her life to be ’perfect’ before she took on the family business.

She was relieved that his love for her was unchanging.

"Thank you, Father." She hugged him and then walked out of his office.

Stella watched her sister leave the office. She ca to remind them of her graduation but it looked like the air in the house had gotten quite sullen. She didn’t like it.

Soon after, Sumr found a suitable husband. Soone who would be a perfect house husband and take on their family na instead of her taking his.

Soone who wouldn’t complain even though he was looked at as lesser than his fellow man.

And that was the man she bore Philip with.

But then after three years, Sumr began to change.

It was no longer about how to grow the company that ca to mind. At dinner, she would bring up a random topic and ask,

"What goes well with a pink dress?"

It shocked them. That was the most random question she had asked. But what shocked them the most was the smile on her lips.

It was soft and warm. It was beautiful. It reminded them of the smile she always had on before she started taking responsibility. A carefree and simple smile that ward even the coldest hearts.

Ah, how long has Adolf longed to see this smile on her face? It was so refreshing, and it ward his heart, but he couldn’t understand why she had changed like this.

He decided to be thankful that the cold phase had disappeared.

But then, a tragedy happened.

Philip’s father got into an accident and died.

But when at this news, Sumr did not cry or even look sad in the slightest. If anything, she was relieved. But there were talks from the maids about how they heard her cries in the middle of the night and so even saw how reddened her eyes were.

No one suspected her of getting rid of him because of this and also because, at that ti, she had been abroad for an important joint eting, which she had been preparing ticulously for.

There was no way she could’ve prepared for her husband’s death when she was so busy.

Besides, there was nothing like a failed break to bla for the accident. It was almost like he had driven into the pole on his own and then it exploded.

A few other civilians were caught up in this accident but there was only one casualty.

Strange things continued to happen, like how Sumr left the house without anyone accompanying her and returned whenever, giving no explanation whatsoever.

It also seed like Sumr was distancing herself from Philip. She looked pained before looking away as if it was sothing she couldn’t do anything about.

And then it reached the height of the strange things happening as Sumr walked into her father’s office that day and said,

"Father, I have never asked for anything from you. And I’m glad for all the care you’ve shown . So, will you look at this daughter’s face and grant one wish?"

Adolf was surprised that she ca up to him with sothing like this but he couldn’t understand why she seed so serious.

His thoughts road around, trying to guess what she was there for, but he never got it and decided to just trust the fact that she was not an irrational person.

But that was the mistake he made.

"I promise to grant you your wish." He said and that was the start of it. That was how he unintentionally tore his daughter away from her son and tore himself away from his daughter’s life.

"Thank you, Father." She said, a small smile of relief playing on her lips.

She didn’t know how to get her father to accept what she was going to do besides through this thod.

She felt a bit guilty, but...

"Father," she bowed her head slightly. "I’m going out. I may never return so please, don’t chase after and take care of Philip for . That... Is my wish."

(Did she just wake up one morning and decide this? I wonder. We’ll, only know at a later date)
