"Do you have sothing to say to ?"

"If that’s all, then I guess we’re done here." She said but Clarissa caught her hand and said,

"I’ll be keeping my eyes on you while I do all I can to defeat you. So, do not rest easy." She said and Alice looked down at her hand before shifting her gaze back to her face.

Her lips curled up and she smiled.

"Well, good luck." She said.

Her constant positivity was getting Clarissa worked up but there was nothing she could do. She let go and stord out of there.

"Why didn’t you give her a better response?" Leo asked as he stood behind her and she placed her hands on her waist.

"Well, I didn’t know what else to say." She said. "If I were to give her a proper response, I would go, ’Alright, try your best but I assure you, it won’t make a difference.’ I would only be getting on her nerves more. Don’t you think?"

Leo nodded. That was true.

Alice turned to Nicholas and waved her hand, yelling,

"We’ll be heading out now, Nick." She gave him a nickna right away. "You don’t mind if I call you Nick, right?"

"No, not at all. I don’t mind." He said, his ears flushing and she chuckled.

"It was nice eting you. Let’s et again soti." She said and started walking away.

Nicholas waved at her and then touched his chest, watching her leave with Leo.

"Let’s et... Soti soon." He muttered.

Leo, walking behind Alice, examined her carefully. There wasn’t anything different about her this day but she was acting unlike her usual self. If anything, she had beco far too active, minding other people’s business.

He rembered how she got so angry knowing Nicholas had bullies. Yes, she had a sad past with bullies and being a dog, but he didn’t think she would get angry on behalf of a stranger.

"Alice," he called.

"Hm?" She glanced over her shoulder.

"You’re acting a bit strange today. You seem..."

"Excited?" She completed his words and he nodded. That was one way to put it and she laughed. "Well, I don’t know either. But I think I have a lot of adrenaline to burn so I’mma use it up. And maybe," she smiled. "...after seeing Nicholas’s art, I got filled with so much vitality." She stopped and turned to him. "Weird, right?"

Leo stood in front of her and reached for her chin. He brushed it lightly before letting go and moving his hand to her head. He patted her and said,

"Not weird at all." He smiled. "If anything, it would be nice to see you like this every day. Caring about other things and walking around. Being your own person."
