Alice got back to the benches and sat down feeling exhausted.

’hn, I’m exhausted,’ She thought. ’I think I used my brain a little bit there so I feel drained. I must be really dumb if sothing so small drains .’ she sighed and wondered about Clarissa. ’This is a problem.’

If soone could so brazenly co to their school and offer demon blood, claiming it would make them stronger, then it was definitely happening everywhere.

This ti, it was Clarissa who had a heart of integrity, luckily. But who would it be the next ti? Who would get so tempted that they would take the potion?

’Maybe I should tell Mark about it. If we can report this to the agency, then they might give so sort of orientation about it, so people don’t fall victim.’ she thought, but there was a loophole.

What if it only makes people more curious to try it out to see the effect? What if the distributors got so brazen that they started coming out more frequently to tempt the brokenhearted?

It would be a huge disaster if that happened.

’Ugh, I feel like my brain is going to fry.’ She scuffled her hair. ’Where is Leo when I need him?’

She raised her gaze, looking for Leo.

All the while she was with Clarissa, she did not bother to reach out to Leo because the situation didn’t seem hectic. But she was curious why Leo did not go to look for her after all that ti she was away.

She caught sight of him in the midst of so girls. Yup, he stood out a lot. He smiled softly while explaining how to use the bow comfortably to them like he was the instructor in charge of the training.

He basically stole Philips’s role after he pulled that stunt during her shot.

’Just look at that face, he must be enjoying this.’ Alice thought, dropping her chin on her palm. ’But he really does love attention, this guy. He’s so... Bright.’ She started observing him. ’His eyes look normal now but they aren’t normal at all. They’re very pretty, prettier than the stars above. Maybe it’s because I can see real stars in them.’ She adjusted in her seat, crossing her legs. ’Sohow... He stands out way more than he should.’

She thought and subconsciously chuckled.

"What am I doing? Why am I staring and observing?" She asked herself but did not tear her gaze away from him.

Maybe she could go closer and have a closer look at him. No, that would only make her one of those girls who were frolicking around him, hoping to get his attention.

But of course, if she went there, he would give her all his attention right away. She was his priority.

Then, Leo lifted his gaze and it t hers. It was a brief mont but when their eyes locked, it looked like there was nothing else around them.

A tranquil silence that engulfed them. At least, that was how it felt to Alice.

Leo smiled and telepathically said,

*What’s with that surprised look on your face? Were you sneaking peaks at or sothing?* He asked and Alice blinked her eyes.

The tranquility was gone and everywhere was once again rowdy and loud, the students screaming in excitent from all corners of the field.

Alice rubbed the back of her neck nervously and also confused, wondering what had co over her for a second there.

’Don’t speak in my mind, idiot. Focus on what you’re doing. I was just lost in thought while staring in your direction. Don’t make this about you.’

Alice shut her eyes. Why did she lie? Gosh, it wasn’t a big deal if she admitted that she was staring at his stupid face while he pleased and entertained the girls trying to get his attention and know more about him.

*Sure, sure. Then, can you make a diversion so I can escape?* He asked. *These girls are so persistent and I don’t know how to slip out.*

’Ho-ho, Leo, the great constitution and the Creator of the system doesn’t know how to get himself out of the clutches of a few high school girls.’ She laughed and then grinned in amusent. "Suffer."

*Alice,* he looked in dismay but she threw her face away.

’Hmph, it’s not my business.’

After abandoning Leo to his fate, Alice turned her head away, trying to figure out what would be the next course of action.

But as she turned her head away, her eyes fell on a quiet student on the benches with her. He sat three steps ahead of her with a short length apart.

As soon as his eyes t Alice’s, he flinched and covered his face with the notebook in his hand.

"Huh?"

He made it really obvious that he had been looking at her.

The boy was one of Alice’s classmates. He usually sat at the back left end while Alice’s seat was on the right corner, next to the window (but Leo has the desk closest to the Window but I hope you get the point).

He was often looking gloomy and was quite introverted so he did not participate in events that were not mandatory.

He kept to himself with a book the size of a sketchpad, always in front of him, and a pen.

He glanced at Alice every now and then because she caught his interest the mont she stepped into the class, showing off her sword. She looked amazing and stole his breath with one word from her mouth.

He was an artist but he had a problem that he could not draw just anything and anyti just because he felt like it. It was more complicated than that.

Sure, he could draw but they had no emotions.

He could only ever be capable of scribbling down and sketching on his book to perfection if a fla had been lit in his heart and soul.

Once the fla was lit, he had to do all he could to capture it all before the fla went out.

But even after five days, the fla was still blazing as hot as ever. His motivation was still so strong that he wanted to keep savoring it, keep feeling it, and dance in the satisfaction. He didn’t want it to go out and this taste of pure beauty made his soul feel fulfilled.

Alice was his muse. He was an artist and a writer.

Her actions always left him breathless, giving him a reason to turn his pages to a new Chapter and create a brand new image with her as his main character.

His muse was soft when she dropped her head on her pillow to pass the ti in class. She was strong when she needed to prove her point. She was beautiful, swiping her hair behind her ear and fluttering her eyelashes softly as she slowly scribbled on her book in class. She was adorable when she smiled, thinking of no consequences the world could give.

She was extraordinary and brilliant and because of that, his interest in her... The fla in his heart never went out.

And his muse... was right in front of him with her face so close to his.

"Aaargh," He almost fell back, startled at finding Alice’s face so close to his all of a sudden, but Alice caught his hand.

"Are you okay?" She asked, tilting her head in confusion, and he marveled. This was the first ti she was so close to him.
