The Fate Of The World Is In My Hands, But All I Want To Do Is Eat! Chapter 167: Burn
"Well, we’re 13." Leo said, shocking her. "And I understand why you said 12, because we are the constellations, after all. But, there’s one more ’being’ that this world did not account for."
"Which is?" She tilted her head. Leo took a second to take a breath and then said,
"My twin brother."
Alice went silent. His twin brother? Leo had a twin brother?
Wait, she wasn’t exactly the brightest of minds, but she knew this for a fact: wasn’t the only constellation with a twin Gemini?
Pisces could sotis be mistaken for a twin constellation, too, but Leo? How was that possible?
She stared at his face, which was a bit lancholic.
"You know how you guessed it was my fault that sothing went wrong and the world was destroyed? Well, it was true, and I would like to tell you more about it in detail, but even that information is too much for you to handle, so I can’t tell you about it."
Alice closed her eyes and sighed.
Seriously, things seed to be getting even more complicated. Leo had a twin and he really did cause trouble to the world.
Well, that’s a bust.
She wasn’t entirely interested, but she wanted to figure out exactly what he did but she would end up hurting from the penalty.
"Let’s just leave it at that." She said and he glanced over his shoulder at her. "What’s important right now is that you’re not the enemy. So long as the world’s survival is your top priority, I don’t care."
"Jeez, you say the most comforting things in the weirdest ways."
"Hey, take it or leave it, your choice. I’m not going to beat it into you." She said to him as he landed on the floor, his bare feet slowly taping the tough soil on the ground.
Alice hopped down from his back and squared to stare at Lilith’s body.
Even after she had been dead for a while, she still looked very beautiful. She looked like she was sleeping.
’Why is such a beautiful person a demon?’ she asked and Leo stepped up to her.
"You know, there’s this saying that angels show up in fearso ways to scare off evil forces, and demons co forward in the most beautiful form just to trap their victims." He squatted next to her. "Demons are very beautiful."
"Hm, you don’t say." She twisted her lips and then sighed. "Well, let’s just get this over with." She got up to her feet and Leo followed her.
"What do you intend to do with the body?"
"Let’s burn it." Alice said. "That’s the only way."
"And how do we set a fire?" He asked her but she stared at him blankly. "What?"
"You can’t tell you can’t light a fire at the top of your finger as those fantasy books go." She said, folding her arms. "It’s that easy."
"Hm," Leo thought about it.
Of course, lighting a fire wasn’t a big deal but he just didn’t think that far.
"Stand back." He said and Alice clapped her hands.
"Woo, now we’re talking." She took steps back. "Go, Leo."
Leo’s expression, as well as the look in his eyes, turned serious and he pointed his index finger at the body.
"Burn." He muttered, and, like a hose, blue flas spewed out of the tip of his index finger; it consud Lilith’s body right away. The flas looked like they were ripping her body to pieces, devouring her till there was nothing left but ashes.
Even her bones were eaten up by the flas.
Leo ceased the flas and then blew the tip of his smoking finger.
"I guess that should do it." He said and turned to Alice who was staring at him with sparkling eyes.
It imdiately gave him goosebumps. What was with her reaction?
"Whoa, that’s so cool." She said and took his hand to take a closer look at his finger. "Why don’t you teach sothing like this? It’s so handy."
Leo took back his hand and looked at her with his lips heavy down turned in a frown and a look of disbelief.
"Why?" Alice asked, seeing his expression. "Do you want to be stingy with this?"
"As a matter of fact, I want to be stingy with it." He said but then caught on to sothing and burst out laughing.
He was laughing so hard and long that Alice started wondering if his brain was okay.
"Hey, if you’re gonna start going crazy, let know so I can start keeping my distance." She said. "I already have a number of crazy people around , okay?"
"Just shut up, you’re supposed to ask why I’m laughing and not saying that, you idiot." He said and her face twitched.
"Who’s the idiot? You’re the one laughing like a lunatic." She said.
Leo waved it off and let out a sigh, calming himself.
"So, why were you laughing?" She asked but his response imdiately irked her.
"Forget it."
"Ugh, seriously. You’re the one who complained I didn’t ask, and now..."
Leo pald her face, stopping her from speaking, and said,
"Let’s hurry up and leave. If we stay any longer, we just might attract the monsters and you said you don’t want to kill them, rember?"
Alice pushed his hand off her face.
"Yeah, that’s true, but..." She looked at his face. He was smiling, and though she never Pictured herself as being a sucker for good looks, she decided to let it go because he looked good smiling. "Forget it. Let’s just go."
"Alright."
"Anyway, I’ll race ya." She suddenly said and did not even give Leo any warning before speeding out of there.
Leo watched, surprised, and then sighed. She was such a handful.
He glanced at the ashes on the floor one more ti, his eyes darkening as he got this strange feeling that things were too simple with Lilith.
Yes, Alice was powerful but for her to take out Lilith so easily, a top demon, it was just too easy.
’Or maybe I just underestimated her too much.’ he thought to himself and decided to catch up to Alice.
At that ti, if Leo had listened to his guts and actually looked into it, the problem of the future wouldn’t have seen the break of dawn.
He was negligent this ti.
