The Fate Of The World Is In My Hands, But All I Want To Do Is Eat! Chapter 154: Just wondering if we should dispose of the body
Alice gulped softly and asked herself,
’Have I ever been so curious about another person before?’
Micheal, who knew Alice had been staring at him all along, smirked. She had been standing next to him the whole ti, so of course it was easy to notice her staring.
"Even without a glimpse of my face, you seem to be very interested in ." He said, and Alice blinked. She blinked again and realized what she had been doing. She looked away, rubbing the back of her neck and wondering why she had been staring while having such thoughts.
"Well, I won’t deny it, since I’ve been caught." She said. ’Dammit, this ain’t my doing, is it?’
*No one’s doing it but you.* Leo said to her.
’What do you an? It might be like that ti. You know, like how I had that rush of bizarre emotions and started feeling so... Different.’
*Sigh, I don’t believe it’s that but let pretend I do.* He said, and Alice furrowed her eyebrows.
Why didn’t he believe her? She could feel sothing bizarre.
Micheal watched her. What was she going to say about her attitude of staring? He wondered. But before that, he needed to focus on what was in front of him.
He turned to the struggling Florida whose veins were turning redder and bulging even more.
It seed like she was trying to use the full effect of the miracle potion she had in her system. And maybe if she had been up against a normal awakened, she might’ve won this fight, but... She was up against him.
He tightened his grip and snapped Florida’s neck.
Her arms, struggling to save her neck and maybe find a way to grip the aura rope, fell lifeless, and so did her body.
"Thud!"
Alice turned to find her body on the floor and asked,
"Did you kill her?" He asked and he looked at her, tilting his head as if trying to figure her out.
"A change of heart?" He asked but she shook her head.
"Nah! Just wondering if we should dispose of the body right now before others co, or..." Her words were cut short when Micheal stepped closer to her.
He was tall, yeah, she got it, so he shouldn’t try to intimidate her with his height while standing in front of her and hovering over her.
"Alice," he called her na softly. "don’t worry. We don’t need to dispose of the body yet. I’ll kill her later. Slowly but surely."
Okay, that sounded creepy. Why did he suddenly feel like a psychopath who loved the pleasure of sucking life out of his victims? That line was straight out of a horror thriller.
Well, what did she care?
As long as Florida was out of the picture and there was one less nuisance to disturb her daily life then she was ga.
But... What was Micheal standing so close to her, staring down at her with a slightly crouched back?
"Alice," he called her for the second ti. "You said we were friends, right?" He asked, slowly taking her hand.
"Um, yeah?" She answered, unsure where this was going.
"Then, you wouldn’t mind if we got a little closer, right?"
"Hm, I’m not sure what you an by that or how close you want to get, but any closer than this, then you and I are gonna be sharing one body," she said, her tone sounding sarcastic yet serious, and their situation speaking loudly about the aning.
He was standing so close to her that if he were to take half a step, not even a full one, towards her, then their bodies would definitely collide.
So, unless he was trying to hug her then this was as close as they could get.
"I want to be closer to you, Alice." He said. "And not with our bodies. No, no. Where I want to reach is..." He pointed his hand to her chest and said, "Here."
Alice looked down at where he was pointing and then looked up at him, confused.
"My left breast?" She asked and Leo pald his face, in utter disbelief.
Micheal, struck by her sudden unexpected response, suddenly cackled. His cackle was light but awkward.
"You’re beyond intriguing, Alice." He said and finally laughed like a normal human being, leaving Alice in the dark.
"What? What’s funny?" She asked.
*Your left breast?* Leo asked, still struck with disbelief. *A guy points at your chest saying he wants to get closer there and you call out your left breast?*
"What? I had to ask." She said with pouted lips. "He was pointing at it."
*He was referring to your heart, idiot. He wants to get close to your heart.* Leo said and Alice paused.
’Um, oh. Is that what he ant?’ she turned to find him still laughing. Now that she thought about it, it was rather awkward and embarrassing.
What the hell did she do?
"Alice," he called and she turned to him, her lips paused from her sudden embarrassnt. "I won’t make things difficult for you so I’ll spell it out so you don’t misunderstand." He got close to her, slowly slid his hand to the back of her neck, and said, "I want to be friends with you. I want to slowly gain your trust too. Not all of it, but just enough so you can rely on to be your brains. But that’s not all, I also want to be... A special soone to you."
"A special soone?"
"I’m sorry. I’m making it quite complex again." He added with a light chuckle. "Let rephrase that. I want..." He slowly bent his face down, leaning to her level. "To kiss you. May I?"
"I’m not sure." She said. "I an, why do you want to kiss ? Will that make us closer? Will that make you closer to my heart like you want? I’m not very familiar with this concept and I don’t think I want to embrace it either. No ti soon. So, if you’re doing this because you want to love you or date you, then I’m sorry, but I can’t help you with that." She said, creating a still silence among them.
Micheal wondered if to take this as a rejection. He just wanted to try to get closer to her, not for the sake of feelings. He had no idea if he had those. It was just his curiosity moving him. His will to fulfill all his curiosity was so strong that he was willing to take this leap.
Then, would he stop here?
Well, he had no choice. He was not really in the business of forcing a kiss on anyone.
"But..." Alice suddenly said, interrupting his conviction to give up. "If you’re just looking for a kiss and nothing more, I don’t think I’d mind. That is... If that’s all you’re looking for. I won’t stand for it if you suddenly say we’re getting married just because of one kiss. I’ll beat the crap out of you if you do." She said with serious eyes that searched his plain mask as if trying to find a hint as to what he was thinking or what kind of expression he was having on his face. "Nothing else? Then I’m ga." Her voice tempted him.
Whatever her intentions were, he was going to fall head flat on it.
"Ah, yes." He said. "I suppose we could do that."
