The return to the Academy had been rough.

Everyone had heard of what had happened in the Elven Kingdom, and not a single person wasn’t impressed with both Caliste and Fleur. They had managed Heretics, and they had managed to defeat a high-ranked Heretic.

It wasn’t sothing that even third and fourth years could do.

In fact, it wasn’t sothing that the very best student at this academy could do.

The news had spread like wildfire. However, the news that spread the most was about an unknown individual—the one who had managed to defeat the man nad Yopi, the battle maniac, by himself. It was a na that a lot of people had heard.

Because Yopi wasn’t just a crazy person; he was one of the few officials within the Heretics, and his strength could be compared to the very best. That’s why everyone was so mind-blown that soone had managed to defeat him alone.

And the craziest part about all this was that this unknown individual had not taken the credit. They had disappeared like a flash.

At least, that’s what most people thought, as that individual was currently roaming the hallways of the school with a little frown in the corner of his eyes.

Caliste knew very well that the technique he had used wouldn’t go unnoticed, and there was a good chance that if it ever reached the ears of the Demon King, he would most likely disappear and be killed in a few hours.

That’s why he was quite happy that no one had even considered his involvent.

After all, Caliste didn’t fit the profile. He was only a kid who had joined the Demonic Academy. There were a lot of stronger individuals who did not have alibis.

Nevertheless, that barely mattered to Caliste right now, as he was currently heading to the library to see the kid version of Liana. It was ti for them to have a little chat again. Caliste had realized that spending his ti inside the Academy would be a waste. No one here could help him toward his goals.

He walked inside the library, where there was complete silence as dozens of students were currently reading all kinds of books. But then, not even five seconds later, a small version of Liana appeared before Caliste with a little smirk on her face.

"Missed ?" she said in a whisper.

Caliste only acknowledged her as he pointed toward the small room where they had last talked. They walked toward the room as multiple students recognized Caliste, frowning as they saw him walking alongside Liana. Many of them were in their second year and above, and none of them had ever seen Liana willingly talk to a student in such a way.

They stared at them strangely as they began to murmur to one another about this unusual behavior.

In the anti, Liana closed the door behind her and stared at Caliste dead in the eyes, wondering what was going on. Caliste’s gaze seed distant and absent-minded. There was clearly a lot on his mind. "What’s going on?"

"I need to know where you last saw Liana. The real one."

Liana frowned as she noticed the seriousness in Caliste’s voice as he placed both of his hands on the wooden table, staring at her dead in the eyes. It almost gave off the impression that he would be hurting her if she didn’t answer the question as he wanted. "I told you that already... The last ti I saw her was here; she said her goodbyes, and I never saw her again."

Caliste sighed as he turned around. "But that makes no sense at all. Why wouldn’t she leave a single trace behind? There has to be sothing—anything at all..."

"Why are you looking for her?"

Liana had asked that question last ti as well. However, from the obsession that Caliste showed at the mont, it seed that there was a lot more to it, and before she answered other questions, she needed to know. Depending on her answers, her master might be in danger.

"Good question. I don’t even know myself. All I know is that she’s the only one who can tell what the hell happened one hundred years ago. She’s the only one who can tell why I was reborn 20 years ago!"

Both of his fists were clenched as he no longer cared about hiding his identity from Liana, if she was even a little like the old Liana that Caliste knew. He was certain that she would never speak a word of this.

"R-Reborn? What do you an? Who are you?"

"Isn’t it obvious by now?" Caliste sighed again. "I’m Caliste. Caliste Henry, the one who was deed a traitor one hundred years ago by so bullshit. That’s , and I want to find my friend."

Liana’s words got stuck in her throat as she froze in the air. Her eyes fluttered open and closed for a few seconds as she just tried to comprehend the words that had co out of his mouth. "W-What?"

Caliste simply stood before her. He knew that it was a lot to take in. But he could no longer wait and play gas. He needed to find out what had happened one hundred years ago. Now that he had revealed a technique that only he had mastered in the past, he knew that it was only a question of ti before they found out that it was actually him who had caused such a thing.

He needed to figure this situation out before it degenerated.

"Y-You’re really him?"

"YES!" Caliste practically scread.

"Prove it."

The child-like Liana suddenly turned serious.

"Tell sothing that only the Caliste of the past would know."

"And how would that help you? You’re just a shitty version of her. You don’t know anything."

Liana kept her calm as she knew that Caliste was only being emotional because of everything that he had recently gone through. "The real Liana gave so of her past mories. And she told that if anyone ever ca to with claims such as yourself, then I should ask him that question."

Shivers ran down the back of Caliste.

"S-She told you what?"
