"No."

Before Emily Hearne could speak, the Elder sternly interrupted,

"Five years is too long. I’ll give you at most one year."

As soon as he finished speaking, without waiting for Scarlett Jennings to respond, Magnolia Hearne took off a shoe and threw it at the speaking Elder,

"One year! You try cultivating in one year for ! I’m not even asking you to reach Ten-tailed, just advance from Eight-tailed to Nine-tailed in one year, let see?

Don’t tell you can’t. If you can’t, you’re a dog!"

Of course, the Elder couldn’t be hit by a shoe so easily. With a wave of his hand, the shoe was flung away into thin air.

However, despite the lack of physical harm, the insult was sufficient!

"Magnolia Hearne! How dare you!"

The Elder was so angry his beard rose. If it weren’t for Emily Hearne’s previous actions, he would have made a move against her right then and there.

"You can say shaless things like this and yet can’t stand being spoken to? Can’t achieve anything on your own yet only know how to exploit the younger generation! You even have the audacity to ask for a year! Shaless old man!"

Perhaps feeling a bit confident, Magnolia Hearne rebuked without any reservation.

If before she was firmly against it, after hearing Scarlett’s five-year condition, she and Donovan Jennings understood her intention.

Scarlett was trying to buy ti for herself.

Since they couldn’t change her decision, at the very least, they needed to help her secure the ti she needed!

The Elder was so angered by Magnolia Hearne’s "shaless old man" comnt that his face flushed. He turned to Emily Hearne, demanding,

"Aren’t you going to restrain her?!"

Emily Hearne calmly glanced at Magnolia Hearne, paused, and then murmured,

"A year is indeed too much to ask."

She looked at Scarlett Jennings, choosing to ignore the Elder’s demands, and straightforwardly said,

"Three years, how about that?"

Scarlett Jennings remained unmoved, "Five years."

"Three years,"

Emily Hearne said, "For these three years, I’ll personally guide your cultivation, and you can draw on the clan’s resources as you wish."

Aaron Hearne and Magnolia Hearne instinctively turned to look at Emily Hearne upon hearing this, apparently sowhat surprised.

Seeing their reaction from the corner of her eye, Scarlett Jennings realized that the benefits in this offer were genuine, so she nodded and agreed,

"Okay."

She had originally planned for a three-year tiline, and now there was a bit of an added bonus.

Those present: ...

That’s it? The discussion is over?

Indeed, it was over. Even though the Elders wanted to express their opinions, once Emily Hearne agreed, her word represented the Hearne Clan.

The Elders considered this and simply added,

"During these three years, you must stay within the Hearne Clan’s territory!"

It was evident that Scarlett Jennings wanted to buy ti for herself; since this ti was granted, it was crucial to ensure she remained under their watchful eye.

"Impossible."

"Impossible."

Samuel Chalrs and Donovan Jennings spoke in unison, and Magnolia Hearne was only a mont late in joining,

"Don’t even think about it. You still want to indirectly imprison my daughter? You’ve been demons for over a thousand years, yet you act like this with no sha, bullying children day in and day out!"

One of the Elders, visibly embarrassed by her remarks, forced down his anger and coldly retorted,

"You are within the Hearne Clan’s territory now; whether you can leave or not is up to us."

This was truly shaless.

Scarlett Jennings frowned, considering that they might ultimately face a standoff today.

Before they could make a move, a voice suddenly ca from the entrance.

"Whether they can leave is not for the Elders to decide."

Scarlett Jennings and the others turned to see Ianthe Hearne walk in. Unlike her kin who habitually concealed their Demon Tails, she casually waved her seven tails behind her.

As she walked in step by step, her gaze first landed on Scarlett Jennings, briefly locking eyes with Donovan Jennings before both withdrew their gaze and turned to Emily Hearne.

The long tails behind her swayed in the air in front of her, revealing a Water Mirror in the void.

The mont they saw the scene in the Water Mirror, everyone was taken aback.

Especially Scarlett Jennings and Magnolia Hearne, whose eyes trembled with shock at the familiar figures appearing in the Water Mirror, obviously unexpected.

...

Outside Hearne Gardens.

The vermilion gate that Scarlett Jennings had previously broken had sohow been restored, along with the barrier at the entrance.

Luca Jennings stood before the vermilion gate, his expression solemn,

"Donovan and Scarlett are in there?"

He did not co alone.

Beside him, besides Kingston Jennings, was the dean of Sea City Taoist Academy.

And behind him, Gregory Xander, Ashton Todd, and Stella Gibson stood silently.

Upon hearing from Kingston that Donovan had been taken by the Hearne Clan, he decided to personally co over.

But he was aware that, even if he brought security, he couldn’t possibly bring his children back from this place by himself, so he could only reach out to those he could in the Mystical Sect.

As he prepared to knock on the door, Gregory Xander took a step forward and said,

"There’s a barrier on the door, let us handle this."

With his words, he and Ashton Todd stepped forward.

Although the Demon Clan barrier was sowhat different from the Mystical Sect’s barrier, Ashton Todd, who participated in the restoration of the Academy of Mystique’s barrier, had so insights into the magical logic of the Demon Clan’s barrier.

Before they could take action, the red-lacquered door seed to move back of its own volition by several ters.

In the next mont, four clearly Hearne Clan Fox Tribe mbers coldly stood in front of the door.

"This is Hearne Gardens, no entry for outsiders!"

The barrier had been broken by Scarlett Jennings once; if it were breached a second ti, it would be a joke to the entire Hearne Clan.

The dean of Sea City Academy stepped forward with a courteous tone,

"Friends, we’re here to find soone."

Noticing the powerful aura surrounding the dean, the four dared not underestimate him, but they couldn’t agree to a forced entry either.

"There’s no one you’re looking for here, leave at once!"

Stella Gibson, hot-tempered, imdiately rolled up her sleeves, ready to step forward with Greta.

"You kidnapped our Taoism Academy’s students and benefactors! Are you trying to fight if you don’t release them?!"

The Sea City dean maintained a gentle deanor towards the opposing side, making no statent but clearly ready for a forceful entry.

The gate-keeping Fox Demons assud a defensive posture, as if both sides were about to clash.

Kingston Jennings, who had been standing to one side since the beginning, watched coldly, his face somberly silent.

Kingston suddenly looked down at the red string on his wrist.

A red string supposedly woven from Hannah Hearne’s fox fur.

She had said that if he encountered an uncontrollable situation, breaking the string would summon her help.

Kingston wasn’t sure if this was an uncontrollable situation, but he hoped she could help them.

He reached out, making a motion to break the red string.

The red string was delicate, appearing as though it naturally ford on his wrist, and Kingston assud it would break easily, only to find that it couldn’t be torn by external force at all.

After a mont’s contemplation, Kingston simply declared to the string, his voice hoarse yet resolute,

"Break."

The red string, seemingly unbreakable, snapped decisively with his word.

As the string broke, a glimr of supernatural light shone from it.

The light drew everyone’s attention, halting the imminent clash. The Sea City dean squinted, about to speak, when there ca a creak,

and the tightly shut red-lacquered door slowly opened from within.

Hannah Hearne stood inside, looking at Kingston Jennings and then Luca Jennings beside him, raising an eyebrow,

"Co in."
